I moved out the afternoon of July 1 and was charged for an entire month, or 600% of the half day my stuff was in their storage facility. This is a patently unfair policy and the very worst kind of corporate bad behavior. The site manager said that he'd talk to his supervisor and I'd get an email. No email. Next thing you know was a call from a collection agency. I told them to F-off. Then I called customer service and I got the usual mealy-mouthed excuse of "well, that's company policy and while I understand your situation, there's nothing I can do about it." In my entire time on this planet I've never come across any company that was this rigid. Utter B.S. So if you like being completely screwed, use Public Storage. But you'd better clear out your crap at the end of the month. Oh, what's that, you can't move into the new place until the first of the month. I don't have any suggestions. Maybe you should put it in a storage facility...or, maybe not. This U-Haul's entire process is designed to trap honest customers. They rush you through pickup, skip a thorough inspection, then later claim damage once you're gone. It's shady, it's lazy, and it's completely unacceptable for a national company. If you ever rent from this U-Haul, record a full video of the truck before leaving the lot, every dent, scratch, and mark, because they'll gladly make you pay for someone else's mess. This experience was beyond frustrating, it was dishonest and disrespectful.
