I had an indoor " climate controlled unit" all my things smell like basement after a year I was paying $150 for a 5'5 unit. I housed household items in my unit but still had mouse poop all over my stuff, the staff is hardly ever there it is a rare occasion that you can find someone. I have pictures and have been renting from different public storage units since college never came upon one like this just horrible. read more

Have been using this storage space for a few months now and have thankfully had no issues. The place itself is a little sketchy so I try not to go alone or at night, but ultimately they make it feel as safe as possible with all the video security and access security they have in place. This is a long review, but what we are going through right now with Public Storage is NOTHING I'd ever want anyone to go through, for anyone who knows how I post reviews, you know I'm not a whiner nor would I do this if it were not warranted, I'd give no stars if that were an option. We have had an issue with Rodents, mice, in our unit #672 at the 805 North Street Randolph MA 02368 location, this is the run down... 1. We had Professional movers "Olympia moving company" fully pack and move our home into storage unit 672 on Oct. 9, 2018 2. At the time of the move, my movers and I noticed a strong smell of urine, I notified Danielle, the Manager. 3. When I returned about a week later, the smell was still there, I spoke with Danielle, she said she smelled "something" and would clean, the smell would return and subside. 4. On December 17, 2018 I found multiple mouse droppings in my unit, I went to the front and notified "Shanea" who returned to the unit with me and verified that they were in fact mouse droppings. I took many pictures, she told me to make claim with the Insurance company, which we did. 5. Later that afternoon my husband reached out to Carolyn Ross via phone, she advised us that they use a Pest Control Service and that they would be out to treat the building again. 6. That same evening my husband returned to the unit to try and treat the unit as best as he could himself by laying glue boards down and spraying 7. The next day December 18, 2018, we found the mouse that was caught ON the glue board inside our unit, we moved it out of the unit and into the hall to be picked up by whomever maintained the building. 8. We were still never notified if Pest Control came to the building, Carolyn never followed up with Steven to see how/if things were remedied, there was no sense of urgency, none. 9. On December 18, 2018 we contacted "Ultra Safe Pest Management" to treat our unit as we have everything that was in our home in there, furniture, bedding, clothing, etc. 10. Ultra Safe came to our unit to investigate and treat for Mice on 12/21, the mouse we caught on the glue board 2 DAYS PRIOR was still in the hallway, this service costed us $295.00, we had to also sign up for monthly service at $95.00/month because there was signs of infestation and we still had not been contacted by Carolyn about what Pest Control had done to treat nor to follow up on our serious issue. 11. On January 3, 2019 Ultra Safe returned to our unit for a follow up, at which time they found more mouse droppings, insufficient pest control in and around the building and food and trash all around the building. 12. On January 3, my husband left a voice mail message for "Andrew Burke" who did not respond. 13. On January 4, 2019 my husband and I both left messages for "Andrew Burke" and there still has not been any response. I honestly can't believe this has happened, we now have to pay, out of pocket, to move our things to another place. Beware, and take a look at my photos. read more

I had the most amazing experience with Tara at Public Storage in Randolph. I had to move a vehicle that was given to me by a friend. I was aware it had problems and could not start. Tara is an amazing individual. We had some minor scheduling issues but, she managed to resolve those issues, move me into a better suited space, all the while multi-taking to get me the best rate possible. I have to say if she ever decides to leave Public Storage in almost assured their business would decline. She was as relentless as i was desperate to make this move happen. I didn't move household items but, if I needed to that would be my place of choice "ONLY" because of Tara. This review goes out to Tara, YOU ROCK ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!!!!! Great experience with Public Storage. I had lost my keys a couple of days, and I went in to ask what is the process of getting a new lock and key. Frank was accommodating with everything. I was told to come back next month to receive the keys and lock. However Frank was able to help me get it asap! I received a new lock and keys today! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. I just moved items out I have had there for a long time and have had to give most of them away, as well as throw out a lot. The facility stinks because the ceilings are full of mold and mildew. That smell (mildew) will permeate through any paper, or plastic that you have in your unit. They keep it cool, but it is loaded with moisture which will ruin your belongings. I had charcoal briquettes, aluminum trays of kitty litter, and huge boxes of Arm & Hammer baking soda to absorb the moisture and smell. Problem is the top of the units are exposed (like a cage). That is not dust when you walk in that is MILDEW. The moisture is so bad I had a baker's rack (metal) that was rusted when I went in last month. Rusted. Filing an insurance claim in my case has been a waste of time, since they do everything possible not to pay you a dime. The EPA needs to go in there and take a look at the nasty brown spots all over the ceiling. Which by the way they are repairing the roof, but leaving the moldy, water damaged underside that is stinking up the entire place and everyone's belongings. Go visit there on a nice humid day or rainy day before you move in. After reading other comments, I see why the Insurance Company thinks I'm filing a water damage claim. PLEASE AGAIN, DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY THERE ARE PLENTY OTHERS. read more

BEWARE!! Use this facility at your own risk. One month in I got hit with a $100 fee, honest mistake on my part but they could care less! Only use this place if no other options are available, I'm already looking to hire a crew to move my things elsewhere (yes, I'm actually paying extra to get out of here) and if you do use them set up auto pay the day you get your unit, don't say you weren't warned! read more

It's been awhile, and I hope this facility has made the necessary improvements to it's moldy ceiling tiles, leaking roofs and the pervasive stench that it left on all my belongings. I had to trash more than half my belongings, even those that were safely secured in plastic bins. The smell from this facility was absorbed into anything plastic. My wood items had greenish/white mold on the legs because of a leak (most likely the roof, and black molded ceiling tiles). I ended up having to throw away ALL of my book collection (over 100 books), because they smelled so bad and I was having reactions to the mold spores. I paid on time for years, and all I got was health issues. The insurance was of no help, and the manager at the time was well aware of the odor, and the blackened spotted ceiling tiles over storage units that had nothing more than wire over the top of them. I had even thrown a huge tarp over everything the day I put my items in storage. I visited often and put large boxes of baking soda to absorb the odor there. If I knew what I now know about mold I would have contacted the Board of Health in Randolph, as well as their insurance company and would have found another facility as soon as possible. A nightmare, I will never forget because it resulted in more than a loss of belongings, it resulted in a loss of health. read more

STAY AWAY... Been here for multiple years and it's the most poorly run storage facility I've ever had to deal with. Be ware they will not give you credit for anything even when they are at fault. 1- loading doors have been out of service for months making moving in and out a lot harder as you have to walk to a further loading door that is operational. 2-my key code did not work for MONTHS. They did not grant me access to my own property and said they could do nothing about it. 3- called and left messages for the manager multiple times without a single phone back. 4-the district manager is just as incompetent and could do little to solve any issue. 5- when i stopped paying i got harassed for payment but when there is an issue they are no where to be found. 6-after they couldn't resolve my issue is a timely manner they hit me up with a $100 lien fee. I will NEVER rent from Public Storage esp this location. Completely incompetent and be ware once you give them you're property, well they believe it's theirs. read more

This place is absolutely run by ignorant people who have no idea what customer service means. I brought to the females attention a MAJOR issue and was answered with 1 word answers and she just sat there all awkward and silent waiting for me to say something again.. It was beyond a twilight zone experience and I swear she was no question high on something.. Aside from this, they NEVER EVER answer the telephone.. The only other person I have seen there is a guy who I am 99% positive is this rude womans boyfriend or husband and he is equally ignorant and awkward. all in All I would NEVER return - especially since they charge almost 200 dollars for a 20x10 storage unit. I'd much rather pay a friend the same $$ to rent their garage. read more

Right now there is water coming through the roof into storage units. Your stuff may be ruined. Mine is. They knew about this problem by noon today when John called me to say there was a puddle in the hall near my unit. He could not tell if there was water getting into my unit but recommended I come down. I told John I would be down later at night (if at all). This would have been the perfect time for John to say, "By the way, the roof is LEAKING DIRECTLY INTO YOUR UNIT." Yep. And it was perfectly clear from outside the unit. I got there @ 8:30 tonight to find plastic storage bins in my unit 1/2 filled with water, clothes soaked through, furniture ruined. All for the low low price of almost $100 / month for a 5x7 closet. The best parts for me: 1. The water is still dripping into my unit (and others). 2. They left for the day without putting plastic sheeting on top of the units to stop the water from doing further damage. 3. They left no supplies so their customers could mitigate the damage. 4. The management is completely unreachable - the national office could not get anyone on the phone. btw - There is water in at least four areas of the building. This is not just my unit. Use at your own risk. read more

I have an issue with them and their late policies. I don't feel like they are very clear about their biling when you first sign up so it seems like we are constantly just missing when our payment is due AND then called on the first day it is considered late and the day they attach a 20% late fee to the unit. Even if you pay your monthly bill they can still keep your items if you don't pay the late fee. Now to me it seems sneaky to call on the day that the 20% late has been assessed to let me know im late. And if I pay it right its like oh well. Not to mention they credited our unit for someone elses payment- talk about issues. read more

Over 14 months since my last review and not much has changed except the price has gone up and the cameras are supposedly fixed (at least some of them). Security still sucks and doors are still not woking properly. Got a letter stating they were going to start construction on the roof and we should cover our units...ONE WEEK AFTER THE START DATE!! But as usual, the work didn't start on time anyway and was told we would have ample notice... Still have not heard back. Typical. This district manager has got to go. read more

Had the worst experience at this facility. It smells like mold as soon as you walk in. There are never any carts and the loading doors are always locked. The employees are very rude and incompetent. Spend some money and hire some real employees and get rid of the mold. read more

I hate this place so much. If you are late 1 day they tack on a ridiculous fee. Raise your rates with no warning. How come there are deals for new customers but when I ask if there are any deals going on, i have been a customer since 2009, I get told no those promotions are for new customers. And to boot they put my info in the computer wrong and now when I call for help I can't get any as the information I am giving doesn't match what they have. Don't waste your money. The reason for the low rating is due to excessive monthly rental increases. I have had my unit for about three years and in April I will have had my unit rate increased 4 times. They bring you in with a low promotional rate then increase after increase. It is time to find a new storage place. read more
