This is the second time in my life to rent a storage unit. The first time, I didn't make efficient use of the space. Had I done that , I could have held my stuff in a space 1/4 of its size. So it didn't take long before I realized that my rent was about to add up to more than it would cost if I dumped everything and just repurchase it all when I was ready to use it. Renting my unit was a breeze. Public Storage made that process nearly effortless. This is my responsibility to make it work from here. I built 4 free standing shelving units. 8 feet wide, 8 feet high & 18 inch deep. I put them on the side walls. 2 on the left & 2 on the right. They have 4 shelves each. The floor acts as the first shelf. Each shelf holds six 32" wide x 14" high x 18" deep plastic containers. Each shelving unit holds 27 containers. If my math is right, with 4 shelving units I can hold 108 containers. That leaves me with a floor space that measures 7 feet x 20 feet. I am elated. Everything will fit. read more

When I returned later in the day, they said the reservation had been canceled by the call center and they didn't have a space. Prepare for constant rent increases!!! My small business had two 10x30 spaces for several years. My rent totaled $11,754 in 2023. It jumped to $15,386 in 2024 and then $20,137 in 2025! Nice facility but they run a shameless bait and switch operation I booked my unit online for $190/month. Move in was easy. 2 months later they raised my rent to $265/month, a 40% increase. As soon as my stuff was moved in and it would be inconvenient for me to have to move it out, they raised the prices They say they mailed me a notification that my rent was going up, but I never received anything. I only noticed an increase on my credit card statement. They just auto-run my card for the new higher rate. I thought, okay, that is too bad, but sometimes prices go up. But then I looked online, and they are still advertising that same $190/month rate for the unit I booked. So I pretended to be a new customer and called in to see what rate they would offer, and they offered me a $259/month rate, still lower than what they are having me pay. So everyone else can have the lower prices, except you once you become a customer and move your stuff in. Once you are locked in, they raise your rate to above their own market price and gouge you for everything they can. read more

Don't use them unless it's just for a few months!!! Once you've moved your things in they will up your rent, and keep upping it, doubling it every 2 years. Rents have gone up for housing in the area but these rents have gone up twice what housing rents have.I am 76 years old and will have to move everything to another unit because the persons unit next to me is less than half the cost of mine! The manager at the building is nice, but corporate clearly puts GREED before anything else. In my case it is really Elder abuse as I can't easily move my things. They are charging me $490 for a unit next to an exact size unit for $220! It should be illegal but I guess it isn't. PLEASE take notice! Unless you're looking for a very short term rental, stay away! read more

I just moved my stuff from another storage to here. I love it! The lock they make you buy is a cylinder style. I added my own additional lock which is fine with them. Everything about reserving the unit was handled via text after reserving online. You don't even have to go in the office. The lock was waiting for me in the unit. There's also a public storage app so you don't have to remember a gate code! The unit I got is twice the size for $50 less a month than the other place. read more

The storage place is fine, great actually for the pace and price wise... w the exception no lights or outlets work in practically all the units, apparently aren't aloud for more then an hr at a time, which is false and straight up bullshit if I pay for storage. I'm allowed to be there under the business opening bourse which states from 6am-9pm. Lastly. The manager in charge who also lives here, blonde female; is rude as fuck and nosey as fuck. Isn't very respectful and is just mean. Needs a readjustment of attitude and I hope she reads this as well. read more

Stay away from the Pacheco location. First of all, I reserved a unit for a Saturday but they made a mistake and reserved it on a Sunday. When I called to make the change, the recorder says that they open on Saturdays at 9:30am. I called several times until 11:30 and NO ANSWER. Finally, I get a live person. I told them I've been calling, left a message and I get no answer. I asked if they really open at 9:30 and he said yes. I said I have been calling. Then gives me an attitude and said, "Well I'm not sitting around and wait for calls". Isn't that some of the way to earn business is when you answer a prospective new customer? Well, not for this man. He was rude. I had the account only for a day and closed it. I went to Extra Space instead. They were nice and called me to ask if everything is ok. That, I think, is an awesome customer service. read more

Please note that according to publicly available records found on Lexis Nexis Community Crime Map online crime database (www.communitycrimemap.com), this Public Storage facility has a significantly higher incidence of burglary than neighboring competing facilities. There are approximately 10 incidences of burglary, as well as a few Grand Thefts. No neighboring facility has more than 2 burglaries. I have attached a photo with the statistics for your convenience. I can't vouch for the completeness or accuracy of the Lexis Nexis data, but I think it will help inform your thinking with regard to the security situation at this location. I share this info in order to help consumers make more informed choices for their storage needs. In addition to cost (be careful with Public Storage, they are known to jack up prices substantially over time, though I am sure they are not alone in this practice), location, cleanliness, etc, security is a very important concern. It started off fine....I rented a unit in late December for the last of household items and furnishings. Some things to be sold, some sorted to be given to friends and family. Then the Covid hit they reduced the hours we have access to our belongings by over 25%...WITH NO REDUCTION IN RENT. Hm, $152.00 per month should have been reduced to $114.00 or less. Instead of 6am to 6pm on weekdays....I am now limited to 9:30am to 6pm those days. Update 10pm: So I closed the storage unit today...and the gal tells me they were open again at 6am starting yesterday. Ugh. And since I was still under the impression they didn't open until 9:30 yesterday and had to go today...I am being charged a full month of rent, no refund for the overage due to their hours change. Why didn't they send out an email with the change? Oh right, they didn't send one when they shortened the hours, either. Really?? I am an essential worker (healthcare field-traveling RN) and time off has been difficult to come by... with caring for sick people and the SIP. I was so stressed out from the "move" and when I met Heather she was amazing. She was organized, helpful, efficient but most of all just a really nice person who made signing up for storage as quick as possible. When I called her a few times she answers the phone right away, she helps you with your questions, once I forgot my card with the code on it, she was very quick to write out a new one, no attitude. First, re-sort the Yelp reviews by newest first. Second, 0 stars is more accurate. I completely concur with the reviews on 9/28/2018 and 6/7/2018. I'm sure local management tries its best but they are bound by company policy and business practices that are slick, shady at best. I received yet another price increase and am tired of fighting with them, so I found a great outfit in Walnut Creek, Shadelands Self Storage, and will be moving stuff there on April 1. Same size unit is still $250 (not the $290 these guys want to jack it up to, and price-guarantied for 12 months with less than a 12% increase, if any, at that time. My best suggestion is to give away whatever you have that's valuable instead of putting it here. There must be over 50 people including myself that all had anything of value stolen out of their unit in the last year. The people that run this place are no help in detouring theft as the only camera they have is only watching the front gate. They force you to pay insurance which covered nothing from the theft. Even the police that responded told me they get robbed so much it seems like an inside job. Do yourself a favor and find a more credible place to store your things or in all likelihood you'll be sorry. read more

This location is not safe! This week, the lock housing on multiple units was sheered because the metal was too soft. The "Super strong" lock from Public Storage wasn't touched because the door mount was so weak a bolt cutter could tear it loose. This time they had plenty of time to go through boxes and took about 10, leaving a mess. BTW no camera surveillance ("recordings don't go back that far" - there aren't any!!). I have had my unit for many years, broken into twice in the last year. Before that twice in 10 years and they didn't touch anything - so I think it was the manager's mistaken entry. The facility is one of the biggest in Public Storage, problems with break-ins especially in the last year. The "onsite" is apparently not "onsite" anymore. Don't count on insurance either, regional manager has been difficult any time I have dealt with him. read more

So I figured that there could be no easier of a service to provide than a locked room where I can put my excess. We figured we'd need a unit for a few months while we prepare to stage and sell our home, simple enough concept. We set ourselves up with $106/month, on auto-pay, and we set that up in person at the office.. Next month they said I missed my payment, which is interesting because I had it set to auto-pay. Took care of it, whatever. Then I show up at 7am one day to move a load in before work, my car was stuffed full. But there was a piece of paper taped to the gate that said the new hours would be 9:30am-6:00pm. Which is pretty inconvenient considering I'm an adult with a job between those exact hours. Now my only time to use the storage unit is on saturdays and sundays. And of course, they randomly raised the price of my monthly payments to $117/month, probably to pay for the unnecessary renovations they did on the unit doors, without letting me know. Which was a funny story, cuz I tried to run in and unload during my lunchbreak the other day, and i ended up not having enough time to actually unload anything because i had to go into the office and get a new key for a new lock and it took long because there was a line of people doing it too. Also, theres a metal fence by the office that has a rusty metal piece that sticks out of it like a spike and stabs people. I watched one of their own employees get stabbed by it in the leg, and he was in horrible pain. He probably just went to the office and proceeded to do nothing about it even though they could easily afford a new gate, considering they've raised the prices on everybody. Good job guys. read more

I have been renting a storage unit at a cost of $287.00 per month for the past 13 months. Unable to turn the lights on, I contacted The front office I was questioned as to why I needed electricity in the unit as tenants were prohibited from utilizing the outlets located within each space. I informed her I was unable to SEE and was told to speak with the property Manager. The Property Manager arrived on he scene and informed me that they were experiencing electrical problems on my block after a technician had made some changes to the exterior motion sensor lighting. He informed me that he had no estimate for when this would be repaired and that I should feel free to purchase my own battery operated lighting fixture if I required visibility. When vacating the unit, I cleaned and swept up. I left 2 sealed and tied hefty bags of crumpled white packing paper weighing not more than 2 lbs. each in the unit. I contacted the facility to surrender the unit and was informed they would not allow me to surrender my lease until the two bags of paper were removed. I informed them that I was out of town on business and would not be able to physically return to the property for more than a week. I asked if someone could just take the two bags to the garbage for me as a customer service courtesy and was flatly denied. When I returned from my trip a week later I went to the facility to take the two bags to the trash and discovered I had been locked out and my gate code would no longer work. I contacted the office the next day to see what was going on and was informed that in response to my request to surrender the unit they had cleaned out the two bags and were going to keep the full months automatic deduction from my checking account for the month of August as a "cleaning fee". In response I told them I was there to clean it out before mid month but could not gain access and that I should be refunded at minimum 50% of the per diem interest etc. to which the response was that since they already cleaned out the unit cleaning fee still applied and no refund or prorating of August rents would be applied. $286.00 for carrying two bags of crumpled paper about 25 feet. I am contacting the corporate offices to confirm if they can legally keep an automatic pmt. deduction designated as lease pmt. for a separately assessed punative fee. The lack of Customer Service can only be overshadowed by the condescending attitudes of the staff and management at this facility. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED...try Affordable Storage in Pacheco instead. read more

So I was so happy with the "super" online deal I got. When I move storage units (a week later of my initial booking). They took away the 50%off on the first month and increased my rent (not the $5 additional offered on line) but $12 per month more. I was very disappointment of the lack of customer services, unclear business strategy to ambushed clients to a really bad rental agreement. I e-mail corporate and still waiting to hear back from them. I do not mind paying for a service, but based on the deals all over the area for rental storage places, I would have got a better deal anywhere else. I feel truly scammed and ambushed by the whole situation. I can't wait to get my stuff out of that place. So now I'm paying full rent (no discount at all -even when they have $1 first month on-site discount- they didn't want to honor that either). After I switch of storage units the whole attitude changed when I try to understand their fees. I might just have to take this matter to the Best business Bureau. Again, this is not a matter of money, more to customer service and deceiving matter. read more

I pay them. They store my stuff. Can't really go wrong. I picked this Public Storage because it's cheaper than the ones in Concord/Walnut Creek. The only complaint I have is that you have to put in the gate code to get in AND out. I think that coming out there should be a sensor to automatically open the gate. read more

Very shady business practices that are more corporate in nature then location specific. 1st issue - I was paying $341 per month and had to spend hours of my time to finally get the district manager to lower my price to $227 per month....what they were renting the same size unit to new customers for. It should have been an automatic adjustment but they made me jump through hoops. 2nd issue - current price for new customers is $217 per month for my unit....they just notified me that they are raising my rent to $264. Inexcusable and horrible business practices. They overcharged me around $1500 before I noticed...so always question ANY rent increase. Do not do business with this company unless you absolutely have to and, if you do, be sure to make sure they are not ripping you off by checking the rates on a regular basis. Luckily, I will be moving into a house and won't need to use their facilities or deal with their dishonesty much longer. I hope this review helps you to choose another company. We called about renting a unit and was invited to come in when we were available to move-in to sign paperwork and get started. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who provided a variety of units around the property for us to pick from. While signing the agreement all of our questions were answered clearly. We are getting ready to move-out at this time as we no longer need the space, and it was as easy as calling to let them know when we would be finished moving all of our stuff out. Second time renting a storage unit here. 1st time around 10 + years ago. I was able to get everything done on line super easy, I stopped by the front office on 4/5/2021 my move in date and everything was ready to go, no problems no snags very smooth. They text you or email the code for the gate,, lock and keys already in the unit. Easy access from HWY 4, Easy access to get in and out. Well maintained. So all in all a good place. Only draw back is the price, but it is reasonable for the size. Just wish I could get the same price I had 10 years ago. read more

This was my first experience with needing a storage unit and I have to say they made it so very simple for me to; not only correct the application via online from Monday to Sunday( which I preferred and thought was Amazing in itself) but the experience only got better. I realized that the unit I applied for was indoor, yet I wanted to drive up with a roll up door. So after my paperwork was put in place, I called to see if that could be changed and yes again, she went above and beyond the call of duty to locate and rectify all the paperwork once again for my satisfaction. She explained to me the process; step by step & then sent me a detailed agenda so that I could refer to. This was all done at the 11th hour on a Sunday when they were to close in an hour. I did it! Thanks to her service, I was able to get some items into my first( hopefully last) storage unit, even though I arrived 5 minutes to closing. Now that's what I call Awesome Customer Service. Oh! Also the best part was that I received 50% off of my first month. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this place and Heather? I believe? The service was so friendly and professional. When I saw the size of the unit I was going to rent initially it was too small so they recommended the next size unit and I was able to move my stuff in that day. The unit was clean, easily accessible. The $1 for the first month was NOT available. It sort of tricks you into renting and if you don't get a large unit the discount does not apply. They did give me half off the first month but I still feel that it is not completely honest. Other than that it is a good place to store your stuff. read more

I started out renting a 10 x 30 for my entire contents of my house in the amount of 264.00. Plus 40.00 for locks plus 11.00 for insurance ...they raised my rent to 316.00 and now again they want 364.00 ...they don't tell you when you rent a unit the monthly rates go up every 6 months ....when is it gonna stop? The manager and one fat legged female are nosy and rude . the rest of the staff are great ...the gate hours are crap 9:30am and the manager lives on site !
