However, Alexandra was extremely helpful and kind, and her professionalism made it clear that Public Storage was the right choice. Since I was still in Washington, DC at the time, she even provided a virtual tour--helping me select the right unit--which showed how clean and secure the property is. The women who runs the office, Anissa, and new hire Angelika, are friendly, conscientious, and helpful. Wonderful! The units are clean. I have been using storage for a couple of months, but a new space I rented was dripping rust. Anissa and Angelika quickly switched me to another open space. The AC was struggling to keep temps at 88° (TBF, it was 100 outside). On my move day, one elevator was broken. So it took twice as long to store everything. I hope the person that runs Public Storage corporate will assess the physical needs of the building in a timely manner and make those upgrades. I'm paying for temperature control, not baking cookies. That said, if you wait for some promotions, you can get pretty good deal. I hope the head office reads this and pays more attention to this facility's infrastructure. read more

We have been looking to switch storage units and have had such a hard time communicating with people. We walked into public storage in new rochelle and were so pleased by the customer service. The person that worked with us was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We also found that the unit and building is extremely clean and user friendly. We were happy to be able to pre-pay for a year at a fixed rate especially after being very frustrated with our old unit price is constantly going up. read more

Good value, well maintained, great on-site staff. I only met the female manager and she's lovely and professional. App to access is very efficient. Covered entrance to drive your van inside and unload during inclement weather. I recommend this place but A few random things: 1. SAFETY: The facility is well maintained and very safe and secure. Your access is limited to only your floor via the app and access codes but it's typically devoid of staff in the off hours. As a solo female entering the facility it is super creepy bc it's so isolated and empty inside. The floors are pitch dark until you step off the elevator and the motion sensors kick in. I am honestly very scared when I go inside alone. 2. WIRELESS DEADZONE. There is also NO INTERNET ACCESS IN THE FACILITY. MOBILE PHONES DO NOT WORK IN THE UNITS. This adds to the creep factor and if you need help for any reason you can't call and no one will know. I let someone know when I'm going. If anyone is in the office I would pop my head In and at least say hello so someone realizes your there. This is the biggest negative for me. 3. STORAGE UNIT LOCATION MAP - lacking in the floors and it's super confusing to know where your unit is. Also adds to creep factor of wandering around a dark facility whose lights only flip on with motion 4.NO PRIOR NOTICE TO BLOCKED ACCESS. They blocked access to the facility due to paving but gave no electronic notice. Apparently signs were posted onsite but what good is that if you're never there, if you're traveling from Out of town to access your facility and plan your visit specifically so you can access your unit and can't??? I was so irate about this. Suggestions: 1. Get internet access for the building 2. Put mirrors on the corner of the hallway units so ppl can see who might me coming around the corner 3. Be as proactive with any updates affecting building access as you are with payment notices etc. I read more

The worst - not climate controlled - rude staff I left carpet near dumpster and they told me on phone they'd charge me 35.00 I get bill for 75.00 and they won't refund. I've been there since they opened. Had my rent increased by over 150.00 per month. This location has seriously declined in the last year or so. Broken elevators, entry doors not working, and office hours are hit or miss. Michelle was wonderful then they hired people that were "managers" in name only. I was told Michelle was too customer accommodating. Met some senior managers on site, it becomes pretty clear. read more

My fiancé was trying to call all the last 2 weeks to handle terminating his storage unit & get info for vacating. He had vacated except for 1 piece of furniture that needed a moving truck to get out. No one was answering the phones or returning his voicemails. He came on the 2nd, today, and was told he has to pay the entire month of July. So he vacates July 2nd, and still has to pay for that entire month. I understand the technical reasoning behind the employee Isaiah saying that we have a balance to pay. But the fact that the business wasn't responding to their clients & not answering the phones to give out the necessary info about terminating the billing agreement, that would make it reasonable for the manager to waive the month of July. Especially when the client financially is unable to pay that penalty month. Isaiah said he's the manager of the business but he did not carry himself as a manager & had zero interest in taking authority for the situation. He didn't try to call his district manager despite me asking for him to. He didn't call the billing company on our behalf despite me asking for his help in doing so. He just said he couldn't help. (He didn't want to help). Basically- if you're going to store your stuff there; just pay attention to the fine print. No issue with the units themselves and the gentleman was polite- but they're very bureaucratic & unwilling to care about their clients The district manager- the "only one" who can fix billing issues, I called- and he's away until 7/12. I wasted 5 hours of my time trying to complete an online move in. The facility wasn't maned as it was supposed to be and all I got was -we're so sorry, we're sorry. Eventually it got sorted out but what a fiasco, 5 hours of my time just wasted because of a glitch in their new system or so that was the excuse I was given. There are other companies out there that aren't as greedy as well , do your homework. I would give zero stars if it allowed me to. read more

I have had nothing but a bad experience using this location for business storage. I will no longer be using this location for business storage as my business has been negatively impacted by the unprofessionalism, hostility and complete disregard Public Storage has for their customers. I will also be avoiding all other locations. I am writing this review to ensure that other people see it and avoid storing anything here. To echo the sentiments of other reviewers, the customer service is non-existent and the facility is poorly maintained making it inconvenient and often times impossible to quickly access when needed. The staff here is rude and dismissive if not down right verbally abusive. Any attempt to get in contact with a higher up, such as a district manager, is impossible. Their systems are always down and they do not respond to phone calls. The facility is not properly maintained. It is a drive in facility. The garage doors to enter the building are constantly broken. Large trucks often block off the entrance to the building which makes convenient access impossible. There are two elevators but one is almost always out of service leading to long waits to get upstairs to elevator access units. If you finally get upstairs, good luck getting out of the building. I once waited almost 20 minutes on an upstairs floor to get back into the elevator to leave the building. Even worse, I once had to put everything I was removing from the unit back inside of the unit because I could not wait any longer for the elevator. I had to use the emergency exit staircase instead. This staircase lead me to the back of the building. I then had to walk all the way around the building and back to my car without all of the stuff I needed from the unit. In early September, my ground floor unit flooded. Public Storage sent out no notifications regarding this flood. I had to find this out on my own after noticing water damage on items I was storing in the unit. I made the decision to move the items to higher ground and consolidate that unit with another I had at this facility. It is a pity that I did not grab a U-Haul truck to leave completely. Given the elevator issues, it took me 4 hours to move items from a unit on the ground level to the second level. It should have only taken 1.5-2 hours. Given the amount of time it took, I was only able to consolidate one instead of two units as planned that day. I then returned to the facility the next day. After multiple holding patterns due to not being able to get elevator access or a hand truck, I had no choice but to leave the facility with only half of the unit cleared. Given work commitments, I could not get back until two days later which was already the morning of the first. I was then finally able to finish clearing out and inspecting the unit before their office opened at 9:30am. However, despite having informed the employees of my plans of consolidating days earlier and explaining to them my hardship with the consolidation process due to their broken down facility, I was forced to pay for the empty second unit and verbally abused in the process. They would not even prorate it given the fact that they inconvenienced me and other customers due to their poorly maintained facility. Other storage companies prorate customers all of the time especially if the customer is still an actively paying customer. They should have just closed out the unit and moved on. I have proceeded in filing a Better Business Bureau Complaint. If you read this and are still tempted to store here because of the pricing, then be informed that they increase their pricing by as much as 30% at random. One of my units increased significantly in cost twice in just a few months. They also charge a hefty 30% late fee compared to other storage companies. So in conclusion, please go elsewhere like myself and many others. read more

I would not recommend this storage facility. When we originally called, we spoke to a manager and asked her if we could be charged on a weekly basis if we left mid-month. This, of course, would be dependent on when moving date. She assured us that this would be possible. Subsequently, after our first billing cycle, we called again and spoke to someone who told us we would be billed for the full month, but we would then get a refund for the portion of the month that the facility was not used. We then called again after our moving date was confirmed and spoke to someone who was extremely unpleasant. She told us we would be charged for the entire month and rudely stated that we should have read our contract. We then told her our move-out date. She immediately scheduled a vacate date for several weeks prior to the date we had given her. She was not only obnoxious, but clearly incompetent. Clearly, not some place where your word is your bond. And, certainly, not someplace I would want to store my treasured goods. read more

I went over today to access my storage unit because I went the other day but couldn't get in to the garage because of uhaul trucks parked inside and the parking lot being full. As I entered and one of the two garage doors was out of order (nothing new...it has been for months) only to find that both of the elevators were out of order (at least one being out of order is usually the case). That's a big deal period but especially when I had to carry my belongings up to the fourth floor. The customer service sucks because I have called to report elevator issues, feces in the hall, and difficulty accessing my unit only to be dismissed; there was no communication that the elevators were out of order and has never been one about either of the garage doors. I will be moving my things this month. read more

I rented a storage unit over one year ago. I needed to rent an additional unit. Of course, the new unit was at a significantly higher price. Of course, it is understandable to charge a higher price for the new unit. However, what does not make sense is that Public Storage's decision to reward my lengthy patronage AND the additional business for a new unit is that Public Storage decided to INCREASE THE FEE on my initial unit by 25%!! It is a terrible business model and it is pretty shady to increase my costs by 25%. I use auto debit to pay my bills so I am never late. It is a pain to have to move again, but it is the right move. Also, beware the insurance add-on. I have homeowner's insurance and told Public Storage. They added it anyway automatically. I had to manually go back into my account and remove. Today was my move-in date and I got a call from a different location informing me that the system was completely down for the New Rochelle location and I would have to complete the entire move-in process online before arriving. Not really a big deal, but I was already driving there so it was slightly inconvenient. When I arrived, Monique was very friendly and helpful despite my code not working and locking me out of the system. The unit I had reserved (10x16) was definitely not the unit size I received, but Monique couldn't do anything since the system was down - again, not her fault at all. The location is clean but the parking situation is a bit of a mess. read more
