I have never used a storage facility before so this is a first for me. I set up everything online and it went smoothly, everything has been extremely convenient and the app is so useful to have. Being a first time customer I did have a few questions to ask and so I called the office on Ogden in Naperville and the office manager Sallie, I believe that was the young woman's name, was very helpful and informative, sounded as if she had been there for a while. She answered all of my questions and more. I'd highly recommend, going forward I'll continue to use their facilities. read more

So this is my first experience with a storage place. I was not familiar with any of it, even though I had done a little bit of research online. MAJOR REGRETS with using this facility. I went online, found the prices, gathered information, and went over that afternoon to complete everything since I needed the space quickly to remove some furniture out of the house. The staff was acceptable, but after I began the process of renting the unit, I found it was much more costly than I thought it would be. For one, I had no idea the REQUIRED you to purchase insurance. That would have been nice to know up front. The second small issue I had is that they required you to buy a lock. That would have been nice to know when they called earlier. The icing on it all, was the locker. The day I went in, there was water all over the floor, the place was super damp, and there was something gross and greasy on the handle of the locker I was renting. Again, not having ever rented a storage space before, I thought the accommodations were pretty terrible for the price I was paying. I am in the process of renting a truck so that I can get everything out of there before it moulds. I thought everything was set up properly until I received a call about a late fee. Auto pay hadn't been set up as I thought it had been, and I had no idea. Calling customer service was awful and they provided no help whatsoever. Major regrets. I wish I would have had more time to investigate before taking my things to this facility. I only came here because it was close by. I've already taken everything out to move it elsewhere but I'll be staying clear of Public Storage. In this day and age, I'm surprised they're still around with the way they run their company. read more

After a day of moving related stressors, I had an incredible experience at Public Storage with Property Manager Lisa. She was professional, informative, thoughtful and efficient. And I got a great deal! After a very long and tiring day she walked me through everything I needed to know and saved me a ton of money. It's not fancy, but she knows her stuff and don't try to oversell me. I was a first timer and she did the right thing. read more

This place is great and the manager is super accommodating. Now that they have the app that allows you to open gate it's even better. Would highly recommend for short or long term storage needs. Their entire rental and move out process is super convenient for customers. Prices also very reasonable! read more

While the intro was succinct, there were other items that would have been helpful to know upfront. We were at the unit at night and did not have any lights. It turns out there were timer lights that you manually turn on for 15 minute increments. Wish we knew that! When needing to use the bathroom and after obtaining the key to the unit outside, they bathrooms were disgusting! We are told its because a homeless man has been using them but it looks far worse than that! The unit itself is supposed to be 5x10 but it only 'meets' that expectation because they left the drywall off and are counting the space between the studs. That space is only useable if our stuff fits between the studs. What ended up happening is we have to store on the outside of the stud which means we loose about 4 inches of space which is a big deal! It is also less secure since there is only one wall between units instead of two pieces of drywall. I would not recommend this storage overall. The gate out front is still broken and it has been weeks which means it is left open and only secured at 9pm when the storage unit is officially closed. The contract we signed was all about what was required of us which is probably standard but when things are not up to par, our question is what is required of Public Storage. If bathrooms are offered, they would best be very clean! If storage dimensions are offered, they best be accurate! read more

This storage unit is the worst one I have ever used. First off, my things were stored for no more than 3 months and all of my contents were completed covered in mold and ruined. It was an interior unit and the hallways and ceilings were covered in mold. The entire unit and all units nearby were ruined as well. They have not contacted any other tenants to make them aware of the damage. They are WELL aware of it and have viewed the hallways. The ceilings are bowed and covered in mold. There is nothing safe in there. They do require that you obtain insurance to cover items stored here. However, they assume no liability for "storing" goods. Their customer service is horrendous. They are claim they are not responsible and have no training or information on how to work with the insurance company. They do not apologize. They are completely aware that these units are saturated in mold and damage to their roof/ceilings and have not made a single step to rectify this or notify current renters. They are disgusting and horrible at responding to these issues. I have lost everything in this unit and they won't even call back or help. This is a horrible storage space with serious health and building code issues. read more
