The place is clean and seems secure. Unfortunately, mold has grown on most of my furniture there…read moreover the past several months while we were out of town. It started at the floor level and has crept up about 6-8" on the furniture. I sent them pictures of it and asked them to call me. They did not call. When I called them about it they said I can submit a claim to my insurance. They say they keep the humidity at 55%, but this cannot be accurate, as the mold would not grow at that level. Lately the place smells musty when you walk in, so clearly there is a problem. It did not used to smell that way before. They offered no mitigation and said they have nothing to offer me. A real disappointment.

We are extremely disappointed with U-Stor-It's communication practices. When we fell behind on…read morepayments, they failed to communicate consistently or clearly about how serious the situation had become. In the past, when something truly urgent came up, they would call or at least send multiple forms of communication -- phone calls, emails, and letters -- so we knew to act immediately. This time, they switched to only email without any phone calls or clear indication that an auction was imminent. We had no idea things had escalated so far until it was too late. If you value your belongings, be aware that their communication practices are unreliable when it matters most.

When I first moved my things into this storage place I was relieved to find a clean, friendly…read moreenvironment to store my belongings. Management was friendly and the price was perfect for my 10x10 unit. It started at $54/month and then after a few months it went up to $64/month. No biggie. Then things started to change. Last month I found a dead mouse in my unit. The manager came and cleaned it up, but I was still quite disgusted. They did give me a discount on my next month of rent there, so that helped a little. I was initially going to post a review when I found the mouse, but I decided to be gracious. Now they have the GALL to not only increase my monthly rent, but DOUBLE it! So now instead of paying $64/month, they have gouged their price to $128/month without ANY upgrades or changes in their end. This place is an absolute rip off. As soon as you move in, they will expeditiously increase your rent and then eventually double it! Do not rent here! I can't wait to move out! Terrible ethics and terrible management! I've been a wonderful tenant and they STILL doubled their rent. Absolutely unacceptable.

The roof was caving in and particles kept falling on my items, mold was atrocious. Obviously, if I store it, it is important to me. However, not to them. The mice were also entering and eating any bags or boxes. It was very upsetting. Thank goodness for new owners. I was going to move the next hike in price when I decided to voice my concerns with new owner. Right away, Pricilla, property manager reached out and immediately moved me to a better, clean and close by unit. As difficult as it is to move, I immediately started to move before my belongings completely got destroyed. This new owner is awesome. Really know what customer service is. Comforting because customer service has long been gone and non-existent. Thank you, Priscilla. I was definitely on my way out to a new storage facility, however, having heard my concerns definitely made me stay here. Would definitely recommend, now.

I have been using this facility since it opened, so about 3 years now. I rent an indoor storage…read moreunit and also park my company truck in the outdoor storage area because of HOA regulations where I live. I have a couple of complaints the way CubeSmart operates their business. When you complain about it to the management at the facility, they simply tell you that their district manager makes the decisions and they have no control, so I will share with you why I am unhappy. 1) They lure you in with "special offers" which is enticing. But then they will start raising your rent fairly regularly. That seems to be the corporate business model these days. In the 3 years I've been at this facility my indoor storage has practically doubled. 2) The gates system used to secure the outdoor parking is always breaking. I am a union electrician and I park a company truck at the facility. So if the gate system isn't working, I can't go to work, which costs me nearly $800 a day when you include my hourly pay and benefits package. My biggest problem with this situation is when I talk to the management about it, they tell me CubeSmart isn't going to change their junky gate operating system for me. I had to laugh because when these gates break, it inconveniences everyone because of how the entry and exit system works at this facility. Instead of driving through a couple of roll-up doors like most facilities, you also get routed through the outdoor parking area which has those two (2) pesky sliding gate systems that always breaks. I don't appreciate management making it sound as though I am the only person being inconvenienced, the whole traffic pattern causes the excessive use of the junky gate system. If you want a good laugh, think about their reaction to my request of being compensated for my loss time at work. I never mentioned this previous times, but after having this happen several times, what do you expect. I wouldn't have even asked such a thing if I seen that CubeSmart was making an effort to really fixing the issue. Instead they keep fixing the same junk. Here is another funny one for you. I couldn't get my truck out of the parking area, and they told me they don't know when the gates will be fixed. So I may not be going to work tomorrow either! Lol....I am so done with CubeSmart.
