This location has been great! We had to use a storage unit for a few months, and we were really happy with the location. I am not so sure about the corporation itself (not a fan of some of their more rigid rules and computer system inflexibility) but Diane the onsite manager is great. She went out of her way to help me coordinate my move from Los Angeles. Because I couldn't come in person before the move, she was super helpful on the phone and when I got there she very graciously helped me look at a couple of different units to make sure I had the right one. Public Storage on Terra Bella Ave goes above and beyond -- more specifically, Peggy goes above and beyond. The company I work for uses this storage facility and last time we were there someone improperly latched the door. Peggy noticed this, during her daily morning walks of the grounds, and tried to contact us. She also went ahead and put an additional lock on the unit so it would be secure. The fact that Peggy checks on the storage units daily and went out of her way to secure our locker (she could have just left a message for us to secure it ourselves) makes me confident that the employees at public storage more than take their jobs seriously -- they care. I trust that our storage locker is safe and if something like this happens again, they will do everything they can to help. -Very appreciative and happy customer! read more

We were referred to this Public Storage by some friends because the facility is well maintained, and the staff is wonderful. When we got there, we were welcomed by a woman named Diane in the front office. She was very friendly, and patient while listening to what we wanted. Diane did a wonderful job showing us available units, and going over everything with us. Diane defiantly changed our minds about using a storage unit! This is definitely one of the better storage places that I've used. No carrying your stuff up flights of stairs, you can drive right up to your unit to load and unload, super easy! The manager, Peggy was super nice and the place was always clean. Would definitely go back there again! read more

Drove by this morning and there is a paper sign saying they changed their hours from 6am to 9pm to 9:30am to 6pm. Makes the place unusable for me. And after getting a good initial rate they have been raising it steadily. I'm moving out. Buyer beware. read more

I just ended a lease on a storage unit here, and I have to say the staff are great! I just used it for long term storage, and I never had problems until I was about to vacate my unit. I had canceled it online, but through something happening (maybe me, maybe the website, I'm not sure) I continued getting billed. Peggy, the woman working there when I came in to solve this, was exceptionally helpful, and managed to get my money refunded for the month I was no longer there. Basically, most storage places are pretty close to equal in terms of price, etc, but it's worth going here for the excellent staff! read more

From start to finish I had great service!! I definitely recommend getting help from a lady named Peggy. I was getting ready for a move and reserved my storage the night before and the next day Peggy called me and followed up that I will be coming to the Mountain View storage that day. When I arrived to the storage I was about 20 mins earlier than I said I would be and Peggy was kind enough to help me pick out the right storage while she was on her lunch. She made me feel comfortable and did not force or rush me into making a decision; she even gave her honest opinion of what size storage I should get. Overall Peggy was amazing. I only had the storage for less than a month and when it was moving day I was on a tight schedule and I couldn't let the office know that I was moving that day. I planned to come in the next few days to start the process of closing out my storage unit, but peggy was all over it. While moving Peggy gave me a phone call saying she noticed while doing her routine walk through that my storage had no lock and nothing was inside of it and if I was the one who took everything out. When I finally got back to her she was very helpful and helped me close out my storage all over the phone and made it very convenient for me while I was 2 1/2 hours away in another city. If you come to this location, I recommend looking out for Peggy! You will not be disappointed. read more

I worked with both Peggy and Diana in moving in and out of this location. Both were knowledgeable and professional. It was easy moving in and out of my unit. The only suggestion I have is for Public Storage as a whole to be more upfront with the lock and required insurance fees when I reserve online - it was a bit of a shock, to see the extra $25 - $30 on my bill when it was finally time to pay. read more

$1 for the first month's rent - seems pretty good! Check for the online rates, they're better. Peggy was there to show me the units, which was a good thing, since I learned that the 10x14 that was available had 2 separate doors and didn't have a working light. In my experience, it's useful to have a light in your storage unit! This was the only place in the area that seemed to have full outside entrances, which is SO MUCH EASIER! Customer service at Terra Bella Ave, Mountain View, Ca FIVE STARS for manager Peggy. She was very helpful & patient in clarifying the over complicated fees and costs payment dates of storage units. So staff 5 stars so far by my experience. It's nice to get great customer service after/during a stressful move. She was patient in dealing with a sleep deprived full time student/worker. Though I have to give the "public storage" 4 stars due to: 1)Though I have seen many other storage facilities and their security is worse. I'm still not impressed by the security of this place. The main thing keeping my stuff safe is the Mtn view pd. They could easily raise some of the surrounding fences, add more cameras, upgrade their cameras, beef up their pathetic door locks. Though again it's far better than most other outdoor storage unit facilities. I'm just being a tough judge. 2)when you make a reservation online the email should inform you to bring your own lock(of course require a certain diameter padlock/disk lock) as I feel it's a trick to get you stuck buying theirs for $17/18. I was lucky I lived close enough to run home and get the one I already spent good money on and not have to buy another. 3)if I have no problems with my stuff getting stolen and or continue getting great customer service I will update this to 5 stars. The staff is great. The facility is secure and clean. HOWEVER, I received a 25.6% rent increase without written notice. ($137 per month for a 5X10). Of course, the contract was month to month so they can do what they want. I was told by staff that it was because the property value was so high and rents need to reflect property values. Glad I didn't need the storage any longer!!! read more
