On February 5th, my wife and I received a notice that units were about to be renovated and we were to remove everything from our unit by the end of the month. On February 18th we received another message indicating, "Public Storage may be forced to enter your storage space and relocate your belongings -- potentially at your expense." A reasonable person (including any judge) would infer that moving expenses would NOT be at our expense if we completed our move by the end of the month. I also was given to believe our first month's rent at a different facility might be for only $1 the first month. On February 25th I came over to the unit and found a mover already helping another customer move and he agreed to move our property to another unit at a different Public Storage facility on Old Middlefield for $500. I informed the manager in the office. On February 25th I received a notice from Public Storage with the subject "Space Transfer Complete", confirming our move to the new facility was complete. I dropped a copy of our moving receipt in the mail box at the front entrance of the facility and called their number indicating I had done so. On March 12 we received a voicemail from "Destiny." "We did find a new unit for you here at Tarabella, so you can just stay here and we can have someone move your items for you... I did see a lock on the other space at the other property on Old Middlefield so if you could just give us a call back to confirm if you have moved in already over there." I later called her back and confirmed. I told her we would have preferred to stay at the original facility as it was near our house. Since then, no number of subsequent calls have helped. All further calls have gone directly to voicemail and no one was ever present at either the old or new facility whenever I drove by. They never reimbursed us for the move or credited us for the first month at the new facility. Utterly unresponsive. And that is for someone who has been a good customer since the 1980s. So how will they be with new customers? read more

For the last 20 years, my family has rented two storage units here at this location and we have never been late paying the monthly rent. Well until now that is. Public storage emailed the invoices however there was a glitch in the system which prevented us from receiving their invoice for the month. Out of sight out of mind so to speak. When we didn't receive the invoices via email, because of a communication error between servers, paying the monthly rent somehow slipped our mind. We then received a late notice with the late fee attached to it which came as a surprise. A check was sent the following day however they have not received the check. When I went to public storage yesterday, there were padlocks on both unit doors. I spoke with Peggy and we both review the account. While she was unable to erase the late fee, she was very pleasant to work with. I informed her the amount of the check that was mailed and the check number. Even though they have not received it, they should receive it sometime today. With that in mind, she was willing to take off all padlocks from the unit doors allowing me access to get some of my belongings. She has the patience of an angel. Now she just needs to get rid of the late fee. Thank you for your kindness and for your assistance Peggy. read more

My company is located within 2 blocks of this storage facility and we have had up to 6 units there at one time. Peggy, the lady who was my main contact there has always been beyond helpful in every way, from getting the paperwork done to getting us out on schedule..........we even had a mishap while moving out where some important items fell off the moving truck as it left with the last load. Peggy promptly called me and with her actual physical help she got our stuff retrieved and held it for me to pick up the next day. She had to walk down Terra Bella a ways to collect the lost goods and she waited while I sent a rep to collect them as I was already in San Jose. It was just one example of her going above and beyond to make sure our service was exemplary. There were other examples as well, like finding out units left unlocked, called me to inform me and placing special temp locks on the units until I could get over there and correct then situation. However many stars they give me here to make a max score, add two more for me. I cannot recommend Peggy and the rest of the staff there highly enough. read more

Facility Impeccably clean, secure, very well-maintained. All the units are drive-ups, which is an extreme convenience. Most places charge extra for that convenience, but this location's prices were actually *lower* than all the other competitors I surveyed. Units My unit was completely clean and clear of any debris or dust when I moved my stuff in. California experienced unusually heavy rains thanks to El Nino this year, but my storage unit stayed completely dry throughout all the heavy downpours. In fact, my condo leaked, but my storage unit did not. Management The clean, professional way the place is run is thanks to Peggy, the facility manager. She is highly efficient while still radiating kindness and good humor. No high-pressure tactics that make you feel uncomfortable, just smooth, efficient service with a great attitude. Things are done promptly, on time, with perfect follow-through. I rarely bother to write Yelp reviews, but someone who really does a fantastic job deserves to be recognized :) read more

This is my first time using one of these storage vendors. I have to say that Peggy and the team at Public Storage have gone out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and secure about leaving my belongings there. When we started the lease, Peggy explained everything and left no questions unanswered. Perhaps my favorite thing is that I saw a mother duck and several ducklings that were stuck on the property and they became separated... Peggy reunited the family and they went on about their business. Besides the heart-warming story, the fact that she noticed the tiny ducks on the large property shows me just how carefully Public Storage is watching the property and my belongings. +1 to Public Storage @ Mountain View. Highly Recommended. read more

I had a storage unit at the Terra Bella location for two years. I recently drove from Southern California to my unit to move out. Everything was great till my movers didn't show up. I went to the office to see if someone could help me and there was MARSHANN! What an angel she was. She immediately sprung into action to help me. And through her efforts I was able to find some fantastic movers that helped me in a pinch. ROSADO MOVERS!!! I don't know what I would have done with out the gracious help of MARSHANN and the movers. They saved the day!! My truck was packed to perfection and I was back on the road headed south! I also have to say that in two years time I never had a problem with my storage unit. I always knew it safe!! read more

I really enjoyed my experience at this public storage. As someone who had to move out under not so great circumstances I was sad to have to go through the process. The lady behind the counter Diane was her name was fantastic. I felt like I was at home in a weird way. She was so kind and helpful. I never felt pressured to buy things but rather advised which made me feel respected. I bought things I needed because I needed them and was informed to do so. Anyway I'm not one to write these reviews but Diane made a sad experience one that made me feel good. If all public storages are like this you have a lifelong customer (hopefully I don't need it). Anyway thank you Diane and keep up the great work :) read more

I am signing up for Yelp to write a review for Peggy, who runs the best Public Storage operation in the Bay Area ;) This facility is very nice and clean, and all units are drive-up. I rented a smaller unit (5x13), and even that size is drive-up, which is really nice. The drainage system is top notch (no issues whatsoever with heavy rains this past winter), and in general weather is nice down here so your stuff will remain in good condition. Most of all, the staff is so kind and helpful. Highly recommended if you are looking for a secure place to store stuff in South Bay. -Chris read more

This place is awesome. I moved my stuff here after another storage place nearly doubled my rent which would be twice as much as I pay now at Public Storage. On top of that, access hours are from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm which gives me much more flexibility. The office is open seven days a week. They held the storage unit for three weeks in advance and gave me a nice discount for the first month. Peggy from Public Storage was super friendly and helpful. The units are clean and very well maintained. Security looks reasonable to me and I trust this place. Can only recommend it. read more

My second post for this Public Storage site in Mt View. We've always had great customer service from the site manager Peggy. Having dealt lately with Parvin (he covers for Peggy on her days off) and he's been nothing short of fantastic. Very patient and polite dealing with a bunch of stupid questions by yours truly. He's well informed and always had the answer for any question I asked. Just a really good person. Thank you Parvin. I appreciate all you've done for us. Between both you and Peggy, I can't imagine there being a better Public Storage anywhere! read more

Peggy was very helpful AND realistic about the situation. Can't ask for better. As for the space, it wasn't protected from flooding. Peggy advised sandbags and plastic sheets; fortunately, my stuff was in plastic containers and placed on Elfa freestanding away from the pools that formed; unfortunately, some wood shelving did not get off so lightly. So be warned and prepared with containers. Peggy will put you wise. Get a proper broom and a pan and brush to clean out. You'll need the broom to brush down the cobwebs and the dirt on the door. read more

Received wonderful customer service from the Manager here. Peggy was wonderful! We needed storage last minute, and got stuck in traffic on the way down from San Francisco with a loaded truck. Peggy stayed after hours so we could complete the paperwork. Even after hours, she was in a wonderful mood and helped make our bad day a little better. We got a great deal, on a large unit in this well kept clean property. I would highly recommend storing here.... ask for Peggy- she will make your day brighter! read more

This place separates the professionals from the wanna be's. Bianca and Peggy were there to assist me in everything! unlike the other PS in the country, this was the best place to go! courteous, honest, and will go out of their way to help out with everything that you would possible need to move your stuff. if they don't have the place that would fit your budget--- easy they will find one for you. how can you find a place like this in a haystack? No need for Google yahoo or maps or even yelp! read more

at the risk of "pouring it on" too thick...I cannot say enough good things about the staff at public storage on terrabella in mountain view. in particular , the two wonderful, kind and courteous young ladies that I have been working with ( Peggy and Marisol ). they were both very understanding and provided me excellent assistance through this very difficult and un-expected relocation / storage situation.
