I used this storage center once when I needed to store a bunch of stuff in prep for a huge garage sale I was going to have. I had a hard time finding the place as it sits back away from the main street and its difficult to see the address. I actually needed to go home and get my GPS so I could find this place. Next it was very hard to actually find office staff in the office during the posted hours of operation. When I did finally find someone in the office the guy seemed like I was inconveniencing him by asking him to show me a few units. We hopped in a rickety old golf cart and we drove over to the storage unit I was going to rent so I could take a look. We simply could have walked but I think the guy was lazy, but whatever. Upon returning back to the office the guy hit a crack/bump in the driveway by the office and almost dumped the darn golf cart over. We got out of the golf cart and it continued rolling for about 5 feet beyond where we got out. I rented the storage unit for a few weeks and turned in my keys before the month's rental was up. Keypad & pass code required to enter premises. Storage access hours 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (terrible hours: as it doesn't allow much time to access the storage units for working people) If I ever rent a storage unit from this place again it will only because I want to save money and am wiling to put up with their wack storage access hours. The storage unit was fine and met my needs, so no problem with the storage units from what I could see. Just terrible service, oh yeah and the office area is small cramped and funky inside. read more

Why I gave this place my business is anyone's guess. I don't even know. Unprofessional. From the beginning I should have known: On the phone, the guy acted like he could care less if they got my business or not. Upon agreeing to a unit, the man could not tell me how much money I would owe for the unit because of the terrible accounting system. The anti-user friendly system. I'll leave the details out of it. The only phone number I could find on the paper work I was given was a fax line with no way to leave a message. Not to mention the hours are inconvenient: The office is a 9-6p M-Sat but you only get access to storage 7a-7p. Seems a bit silly. The ONLY reason I went with this place was because they had a ground level unit available vs. other storage facilities with 2nd floor spaces requiring an elevator. It would have been worth the extra work to be on the 2nd floor. I am glad I am out of there. Go to a chain storage place - at least their accounting system will work and you'll know how much it will cost you. read more

Small company, feels pretty clean and secure. Managers live on-site, I think, which seems like a pro. I've had a unit here for a few months, and I'm digging it so far! It may not be the cheapest place in town, but everything has been super easy, and the customer service is capable and friendly. The nice lady at the front desk has been helpful in person and on the phone, and has made everything super clear regarding payment dates, autopay, etc. It seems like this is a business that acts in good faith - everything so far has built my trust. Being able to access my stuff 7 days a week is great (though I sometimes wish the gates hours went a little later in the evening, since it can be hard to make the timing for working people.) Chose this initially for the location, and because they had a small unit available when I needed one (everywhere else would've made me wait, or pay extra for a unit way larger than I needed.) If things keep going this smoothly, I'll consider it to have upgraded to five stars! read more

This is a Mom and Pop storage facility. They may not be the slickest operation under the sun, but their prices are reasonable and they are very fair about refunding your deposit and over payments when you move out. Everything is on one level, so it is very easy to drive up and get to your stuff. read more

Great experience with Stowit storage. They were able to provide just the right storage unit for my needs and offered me extended hours access when needed. Very nice staff and very helpful. They allowed automatic billing and email receipts which was very convenient. Don't be deterred by the negative reviews as I'm told that was under previous management. read more

I had a storage unit with Stowit Mini-Storage for over a year. They were always friendly, beyond helpful, and took care of any needs I had. The units are safe, clean, and in good condition (water tight). Also, with the owners living next door, the property has a strong feeling of security. Do not use this place. I rented the unit, but when I went to use it there was a lock on the door and I could not access the unit. As it was a Sunday there was no one to call to find out what was happening and I suddenly had to make other arrangements. Now they are telling me its their lock as I hadn't placed one yet. No one told me, when I rented, that I needed to lock it immediately nor was this mentioned in the lease. The lease that they were quick to point out doesn't offer refunds on rent. The place was sketchy to begin with (looks like someone living in an RV in there), but it was close to home so I thought it might work. Instead I'll be contacting my bank to get this month's rent payment refunded since I couldn't access the unit. read more

I've had no problems here, and it's convenient and affordable. They obviously aren't the shiniest or most professional storage facility around, but don't let that dissuade you. Automatic billing has been flawless and safety has not been a concern. read more

If you're lucky enough to find that they have a vacant unit, snatch it up ! I've had a space here for about a year now and the managers have always been friendly and helpful. Always ready to tackle any issue or questions that you may have, and their doggies are always ready to greet you when you go into the office. I'm told that a number of Sunnyvale and Mountain View police officers rent units here so they basically have built in 24 hour security guards. read more

If you're looking to store some stuff at Public Storage, then don't. Just don't do it. I only needed to store some stuff for about a week and the $1 promotion at Public Storage seemed perfect. Then there's the first-time $22 fee. Then the required $11 insurance. Then an additional $13 charge for a cylinder lock that you HAVE to use even if you have your own padlock. Then there's the pushy Indian sales guy that's only interested if you're paying in cash or credit. By the end the total bill came out to over $50 EVEN WITH the first month being only $1. So I said "forget it, cancel the whole thing" and walked out. Next day, I get a call saying they have storage units that can accommodate my padlock if I would just come back. Yeah, you can K.M.A., buddy. Come here instead. Sure, it might not be flashy or big like the dozens of Public Storage places you see, but they got it where it counts. They have rooms. To stash your stuff. That's all you need. They got no problems with you bringing your own lock, they don't push insurance stuff in your face, and they don't care if you use a room for a few weeks or even just a day, you only end up paying for the days you use out of that month and nothing else. Pretty simple electronic gate entry with your own code and it seems safe enough. Alicia in the office is a pretty outgoing woman with, uh, very strong political views (I'm not political at all so I learned a whole lot. Did you know the Bush administration is the reason why college kids can't afford to pay off their student loans? I tell you, she could teach a college course or two). Anyway, all I ended up having to pay is like $23. If I stay an extra day or two? No problemo. If I bounce early? No problemo. Plus, they have a super cool big dog. Stow-It ftw! Stowit IS a small operation which, to me, is nice since they do not have that large, corporate attitude and they also have reasonable prices. I used Stowit after I sold my house and began renting as part of my downsizing process. It was a life saver for me. Access was simple and the monthly rate reasonable. I always felt my contents were safe. I just closed the unit after 2.5 years, and will miss laughing with Alicia each month when I paid my bill. read more
