Hi-I noticed this business needs a new Yelp review! Most of the reviews are out of date - dated 2013-2016 and now it's 2018-2019. The storage place pictured and written about isn't even the current business. This clean, safe, secure storage site is under a new parent company, under new management. It's "The Storage Spot" and no longer under the management of Lock-it-Up. Let's get an update and more current with reviews! Mine: I needed to store items in a unit upstairs. It isn't an issue. There are carts available and an elevator (working smoothly each of the times I visited over the past 2 months). The hours are convenient and the office staff helpful. The bitch female manager tried to blackmail me because they gave me a my deposit back as a check not cash and when I told them that the bank the check was written from was giving me a hard time she told me she'll give me the cash only if I remove my review of her down I even recorded it on my iPhone call recorder app as Proof!! I am so grateful to Lock It Up Self Storage for making the moving process less stressful for me. David and Michelle are so nice and personable. They not only know me by name (Not as common nowadays) but did everything they could to make sure things went as smoothly as possible for me. They held a unit for me a couple days until I was ready to start moving things. They even have a box van which they are letting me use on my moving day! As I am practically moving everything myself, it is such a relief. Their generosity is saving me time and money. (Make sure to ask about the moving van when you first get your unit as there are time and mileage restrictions.) We rent drive in ground floor storage units here for the past 4 years. I have been very happy with the storage units which are themselves very clean and have light fixtures. I like the following positive advantages of the units: - Can drive to my units and load and unload very easily - Get enough lightning in my units so one can work there for long time - It is safe so I am comfortable with my staff working there long hours when organizing etc. - They take UPS and FedEx shipments which is a huge plus. - The location is at intersection of 101 and 237 which is so very convenient for people coming from as far as evergreen or even san ramon if needed. - I am glad I found them for my business. - The office staff is very cordial, friendly and helpful. - There is a restroom in the office in case one needs to use while working in units for long hours! I used to rent there a while ago. That place has poor security and there was no lights in my 5/5 storage unit. The female Manager is very rude and has poor people skills but the guy is decent. There's a girl that works on the weekends and is always outside with a guy in a car and never inside doing her job. I would definitely recommend going and renting somewhere else! read more

DO NOT STORE ANYTHING INSIDE OF THIS PIT! Move in truck is a con. It never moved one inch in the near year I had a unit there. They told me "It will be fixed next week" when I got the unit. Unit has unfinished wood that is not only dripping sap, but has what looks very much like black mold. You must leave your ID to use one of their carts but they are never in the office. NEVER IN THE OFFICE!! (I finally got so sick of it, I bought my own cart just so I could get my stuff out of there.) They are over-priced. I have a different storage unit across town that I love, and have had for years. (Will write a glowing review for them, if I haven't done so yet. Alum Rock Self Storage is AWESOME!!) Unit at Alum Rock is bigger. Costs less. Service there is wonderful. Then there is this pit in Sunnyvale. They will steal your deposit even if you leave the place spotless, and will lie saying they can't send paperwork that every other storage place I have EVER USED had no problem sending to me, and none of them EVER charged a deposit, let alone took it. Nope. I'm done. I would rather drive across town because Lock-It-Up SUCKS!! read more

Buyer beware! Have used their services many times over the years. The cost is higher than most. I get my bills sent regularly by mail, but then the last few months they stop coming. Then I get a call on a Sunday telling me they will email the bill. The email arrives 3 days later with a Lien fee. It appears that management has one agenda about ripping you off. They have no customer loyalty or accountability for their failure to communicate. I am very disappointed that this is how they treat their clientele. read more

I rented a small storage unit here for several months. The employees are personable and helpful, and it was easy to set everything up. Rent was very affordable, and I was able to pay each month online. The facility is gated, and there are alarms in each unit, but you will have to buy or provide your own lock. Definitely recommended if you're in need of extra storage. read more

The storage facility is fantastic and very reasonably priced. I stored my car here for ~two years and never had any problems. The facility was always very clean and well maintained. Office folks are professional and courteous...they helped me jump start the car one time. After that I installed a solar battery maintainer on the car and they even kept an eye on it for me.
