I also feel that they should lower my monthly payment (which they won't) for the next two years because of this and keep all my access the same, then I will say that it is even. UPDATED ON 04/30/2022: I would like to say that this Storage Post location(s) surely loves to increase tenant rates every 6 months or so and when you contact the New District Manager "Mohammed Sadqeen", he refuses to waive the sudden high increase of $15 which is ridiculous. If you have District Managers like this, then you will have many tenants leaving your storage one by one. This is a good way to push your loyal tenants away. Finally getting to sharing my feedback on Extra Space Storage. This is not something I'm jazzed…read moreabout because the customer service in the beginning working with their team was super solid. Perhaps I'm naive but I really felt lured in by the reviews and initial low price offer. I had never rented a storage unit before. I had some apprehensions due to what I've read about bait and switch practices. I'd hope I wouldn't be a victim of this behavior...but alas that was not meant to be. I was initially pleased by the discount proposed after first touring the space in the fall of 2020 but just a few weeks later the price increased by the time I signed the contract. That should have been the first red flag. In the ensuing months, Extra Space increased my space rent by 20% after 4 months and another 20% 9 months later. A whopping 44% in just over a year. Extra Space has consistently raised our rent. They give you a big discount at first then in 6 mths raise your rent and again at the 1 year mark. Here's the breakdown of my costs to date with the company: 11/20 -- $157 02/21 -- $186 11/21 -- $248 6/22 -- $285 * 3 days after my online review (nice)* I know they will give you the legalese "pursuant to your agreement...you're on a month to month"....blah blah blah. The storage companies know it's a hassle for you to move again and take advantage of that. Of course they can stick w you the fine print but it's still shady business practice to raise your rates so quickly and so high. :( UPDATE Three (3) !! days after posting my feedback, Extra Space Storage increased my rate again by almost 15% ~ another $40. Methinks it was retaliation for this review. I find the timing of the increase VERY coincidental. I posted on 6/24/22 and they generated one of those pesky rate increase postcards on 6/27/22. Can't prove it obviously but it seems evident the business owners wanted to be punitive bc I gave them a less than stellar review.

This is the worst company you can ever deal with ,they are very deceptive and the customer service…read morefrom the 800 # is horrible.They charged me some crazy late fee,meanwhile I only had the unit for 1 month,apparently the late or auction fee was because I rented the unit on 8/30 with the first month free and I was told I owed 1 day ($20.62) for the last day of August.On 9/30 I'm told the unit is going into foreclosure and I have to pay a $62 and change late fee, to avoid auction.I immediately call the toll free # and talk to a rep ,I pay the stupid fee and was told they would put a request for a credit to my account for the upcoming next month's payment.Guess what happened ,if you guessed they didn't credit me the $62 and change late fee your absolutely right,not only that they raised the rent almost 100 dollars for a shabby outside simple 10x20 unit.This doesn't even seem legal.I feel sorry for the customer reps,when you talk to them they seem well meaning ,but they can't seem to justify these unreasonable fees that they're enslaved to enforce.I used storage facilities in different parts of the U.S. while deployed overseas in the U.S.Navy in the early 2000's and have never dealt with this type of deception with any storage company.Dealing with Public Storage Corp.has really been an eye opener.
