Worse customer service. Made a online reservation for a unit, went the next day to visually see the space. I told her I would get back to her tomorrow with a moving date. When I called the next day, she told me the unit was reserved by someone else. So I told her what is the point of reserving a unit online and providing a reservation number if they particular unit was not available. She should've told me I had to pay it at the moment to guarantee Rental and I would've done that. So I lost the access of having a Storage on the first floor, and I had to reserve a unit above their second floor, which is only ladder access. She did not communicate the information correctly. So I called you the next day and told her that I wanted to go again to see the unit on the second floor. She told me yes, but you had to be here before 1 PM because I leave. I got there at 11:30 and no no one was in the front office. I called multiple time left messages multiple time and a week has passed and she's never even returned my message that I left. The only reason I stayed there is because of the location. The storage unit is at. However, the Miami Lakes location, the customer service the person in the front office unprofessional. Does not give proper information towards a unit. She should've said if I didn't pay for the unit. I have the possibility of losing it even though I had a reservation number. Second issue how do you tell someone to come to the location before a certain time and you're gone? Twice this happened to me, went twice to a location communicated to the person and when I got there, nobody was in the office. Now I have the issue with the property insurance, which she told me that it wasn't required. Now I can not cancel the rental property insurance and they are charging me $19 besides the rental fee of the. Aagain giving out information that is not correct to the consumer. I would not recommend public storage unit in Miami Lakes at all. read more

Howdy! :) I have been using public storage for some time now. One thing you will notice is that they are often more affordable than other private storage businesses. Its the main reason I came back after having to move. I now have a unit at Miami Lakes. The place seems to have some of the lowest priced in the area. For someone who doesn't make alot, its a huge plus! But there are two caveats. The first is that this location doesn't have top notch security. The bottom of the loading doors have broken locking pins. The top pins work at least in addition to the rolling garage doors that close behind them. The other problem is the majority of the units are run-of-the-mill galvanized fences. You have minimal privacy unless you box, bag, and cover everything. And fences can easily be opened unlike metal units. The only saving grace here is that the place is 100 feet from the police station. And the staff know everyone and are really helpful! This is probably why the place is often full occupancy. I still wish for covers on the fences though for the added peace-of-mind. So all and all I give them a 4 out of 5. read more
