I thought this would be a promising option. The month I moved in one of the elevators broke... shutdown, no repair. No customer service and was hard to get any help. Now the second and ONLY elevator is broken. They do not plan to fix it. As this was explained to me from the manager Debbie, Public Storage spent $75K to repair the first one and a new one is $150K. The second elevator is a whole other issue. I do not recommend this facility. I have used Storage in the past and has an excellent experience. This is more work than it's worth and expensive. read more

Run, don't walk away from this facility. The lock I bought from them malfunctioned. They sold me another but kept a key until a locksmith could cut off the old lock. They said they were not going to enter the storage locker. When I came back, all my collectables were gone even though the lock was intact. Seems like an inside job to me. I paid for the 1st month and was denied access when I got to the building, unless I paid again on the app. I couldn't get ahold of anyone to help, so I just paid the invoice to be able to get into. Don't rent storage here. There is never anyone in the office. The elevators are old and slow, which is going.to cost you time and money every time you come. Customer service is non existent. Worst run business ive ever experienced. I wanted to upgrade to a larger unit and they refused to refund me for a smaller unit that I had not even moved into. I wanted to cancel within 24 hours and they refused. I could not get ahold of the manager after leaving multiple messages. His name was John and he won't return your calls. I spoke with a rep at the location who was nice but said hes just an employee he can't help because he has to keep asking the manager questions, whom will not pick up his phone. They repeat their policies and have no care for their customers. I wanted to rent a 10 x 15 unit but they refused to upgrade me from a 10 x 10 unit. Something so simple shouldn't be so diffucult. Instead im taking my business elsewhere and they are still charging me for a unit i'm not even using. Also, I spoke with a friend who has a unit there and he said this place has rats!! We, along with at least a dozen other customers, had our unit broken into. The thieves simply punched through the thin Sheetrock/drywall and went unit by unit from inside. We purchased the insurance that was essentially required but Public Storage actually owns the insurance company (only 5k coverage anyway) and they only correspond by US Mail. There are no cameras. The passcodes provide a false sense of security. You can walk through the bathroom entrance and gain access to the units. Word to the wise: don't rent here. Find a place with better construction and look for cameras inside. Don't label your boxes with anything except numbers and keep track somewhere safe. read more

I rented here for approx. 16 months. The unit was relatively clean and somewhat dry although after getting my items out, some things had some slight surface water damage so there was definitely some leaking. I was never alerted to this possibility. I was contacted a few times after move in by the manager directly to provide good reviews for the rental and move in process. Subsequent attempts by me to ask questions by phone were ignored 100% of the time. The phone was never answered and not a single message was returned ever. I stopped by the office a number of times to ask questions as well but the main office was almost never manned by anyone despite waiting or multiple visits. The mediocre customer service was one thing, but here's my main gripe. I signed up at a rate of roughly $500 a month. I needed the largest unit they had, thus the price. I know these are often introductory rates but THREE months later they jacked me up to $650 a month. I contested and they gave me a 3 month waiver. They did not note that this was a one time thing. When the 3 months was up they rent went up and they would not accept any other waivers. Then FIVE months later they jacked it up again to $749 a month. All of these adjustment were made with minimal to no notification. I was in temporary living arrangements with mail forwarded but the fact that the ONLY notification was a mailed postcard was not great. Also, jacking up my rent $250 (66%) in 14 months. Simply outrageous. Thank goodness I was in for a prescribed amount of time. I had considered downsizing to a smaller unit for a more long term storage of less things, but if they're going to jack up my rent at that rate, long term is not an option at all. After having a terrible experience at a Public Storage earlier that day (11802 Washington Blvd), I came to this location. Deborah at the front desk was immediately a relief to work with. She was helpful and kind. For some reason there was still a lock on my unit, so I went back downstairs to the front desk to get it settled. Another employee, Maritza, helped me out. She opened my unit up immediately. She also told me about the app, and how it made it easier and contactless to get in. I came back the next day and was having some issues with my app, I spoke with Maritza again and she walked me through the process. I also told her about my terrible experience at the other Public Storage location and she did due-diligence to make sure what happened was noted. If I could give zero stars I would! My roommate and I went to get storage for both our things. I was not listed in the original agreement, but I was an emergency contact. So I went to get my stuff and they told me there was a break in using the code they gave us. So the only way to get in was if my roommate was there. She couldn't be there bc she was studying abroad. So we asked if FaceTime would suffice and they said no. They said the district manager had the last word but they never called back. We left a slew of messages. Customer service was horrible. The in-person kept arguing and over the phone they hang up on me 2x! So basically we cannot get our stuff for 5 months. Have to buy new things. Really horrible experience. Their process is ridiculous - especially in time of COVID. FaceTime is as good as in person - their inflexibility is just ridiculous. Never ever using this again. read more

Had my stuff stole from this location. The lock was secured, clearly tampered with, and left lying in the hallway. When asked to check the cameras, the attendant informed me that 'they only monitor the elevator, so it wouldn't be very helpful'. I had assumed since this was a gated and secured building, only accessible to members, surely it would be safe. I lost 2,500 dollars in my belongings. Best to avoid this one. read more

We got a storage unit and utilized it for 12 months. It was a bit pricey but we were in need quickly so we went with it. After a few months, we went to check our unit but they changed their access hours without telling anyone. The website still says the original hours but the sign on the gate basically says that you can only access the unit during office hours. Dumb. 5 months in, they raised the price without any notification. At the end of the lease, they took a full months rent without prorating for 5 days of use. They told us when we signed the lease that proration would occur for any time overpaid. They referred us to the district manager, Shana, who we spoke to, and she told us (in a tone that was obviously without care) that it doesn't matter what they said, the contract says differently (the person on location said my contract actually changed) and that they won't do anything about it. So we are out over $200 not including the rate increases without notification. Do not rent here. My friend's mother is a manager at another storage place (out of range for me to use) and said this is completely out of character for storage places. By the way, insurance is mandatory and they don't tell you until after they confirm your rate and you're already moving in. Be smart and rent somewhere else. read more

The Onsite Manager back in 2014-2015 when I rented out space was very genuine and understanding, God Bless her!! She was very accommodating helpful and honest. The only issue I had with this facility was the major Spyder/Pest issue back then, one time I came to check on my belongings and discovered a couple of Huge HUGE SPIDERS!! However, upon closing out our unit, the manager made us wait an entire hour and then was completely rude to us for no reason. If you find Julio at the desk, go to a different storage facility. My daughter attends Loyola Marymount. Thanks to COVID-19, classes went online and we had very little time to fly to California, pack her up, and fly home. We'd rented at this facility in the past, so we stopped to see if any units were available. Thankfully they were. The employee on duty, Kass, was empathetic and professional. She helped us take advantage of a promotion and got us a larger unit than we'd had in the past for less money. I arrived to store my car and the opening was 4 feet wide - even though it is advertised as a "10x20." I could not store my car there. Once I got to the property the whole process was very quick, easy and efficient. The manager was very polite and professional. After visiting 3 other properties I would highly recommend if you are looking to store things, just go straight to Public Storage. I use this nearby Public Storage frequently when i have a sewing project requiring more materials than my studio can handle. It's clean, has no funky smell, the staff is polite and thorough, and the other renters I've encountered so far have been polite and "normal" ( some lesser places I've rented from, like the next door EZ storage seem to have some disturbed/homeless folks in the hallways. Not dangerous, and yes, they have rights to rent and needs too, but the experience can be sad and unsettling when you go to your unit) Many times the 1 dollar first month deal is in effect when i need to rent space, I really appreciate that and get my project out within a month! I dont do long term rentals with household stuff, so i cant speak to that. Be sure to lay a tarp down on the floor first, the cement can and will get damp and ruin your cardboard boxes. read more

Had a very positive experience at this storage facility. Maria and Todd were very friendly and walked me through all of the necessary steps I needed to get my furniture into a 10 x 5 unit. Was in and out in 30 minutes and even though the first month wasn't exactly $1 as advertised it was still about one third of the price of any of the surrounding storage facilities I looked into.
