I have used the Fullerton location storage facility for many years and, having worked with several different managers over time, I was generally satisfied with the service. However, I am extremely disappointed with the recent administrative handling of my account. I properly ended my contract, completely removed all of my belongings from the storage unit, and finished all necessary discussions with the manager regarding the contract termination. Despite this, after the contract end date, the rental fee for the following month was automatically charged to my account. In addition, I later received a billing notice for the rent for the month after that. To receive a refund for these incorrect charges, I met with the manager multiple times and made several phone calls. I was told that the issue would be handled automatically. However, even after two and a half months, I have still not received any refund. I have visited the office several times and attempted to call repeatedly, but it was very difficult to reach anyone. I even sent a written letter directly to the office, yet I was unable to receive a clear or accurate response. Only today was I finally able to speak with customer service, and I was told that the refund could not be processed due to a "key lock issue." This explanation is very difficult for me to understand. For two and a half months, I consistently contacted your office and requested a refund, yet neither the office nor the manager ever provided clear information or explained that the refund was delayed because the unit could not be accessed due to a missing key. It is also hard to understand how Public Storage does not have a master key, or why the unit had to remain locked and inaccessible because of this issue. Even when I offered to personally hire a locksmith to open the unit for inspection, I was told that this was not allowed. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service and the lack of clear communication throughout this entire process. read more

Sign up under what I thought was a one year promotion or 119.00 per month for outside 10 x 10 unit. After 3 months they notify me that they are raising my rate to 169.00 affective the first of the month. Tried to complain, to no avail. We moved our stuff out of there today and found mouse poop all over everything. When getting the last item out, the mice scrambled out and under the wall to the next unit. Now we have to be worried about bringing mice into our home. We looked as best we could at everything to prevent that but who knows. Terrible experience in every way. The worst place to store anything in and poor customer service! This place is dirty and old and the interiors of the units are not finished. We had reserved a unit, paid for everything up front and tried moving in but couldn't because the units were smelly, dirty and dark. Not to mention, the office smelled of body odor and cigarettes. Anyway, we decided that we no longer wanted the unit and requested for a refund but were denied the refund. The reason for this was because we had already used our personal entrance/exit code to enter the property to initiate our move in. We never actually put a thing in the unit after seeing it. Does that make sense that they denied our request for a full refund for a unit we never moved in to? Just horrible. We lost over $400 for something we never got to use. What's so shady is is that the guy at the counter didn't even consider mentioning to us that we could keep our stuff in there until we found other alternatives since we already paid for it and would not be getting a refund for it. He just closed us out and we couldn't even use the unit for the month that we already paid for. In my opinion, there needs to be better maintenance of the units and more importantly, professional and courteous customer service. read more

So far, so good. I made the reservation online, and received all of the necessary information before my reserved move-in date. Katherine was on-site when I arrived, and she was very helpful. I already had the correct lock type, so she refunded the amount the app had charged me. So far, I'm impressed with the kind and efficient customer service, and I like the location. DO NOT RENT HERE. My storage unit was broken into and many very expensive items where stolen. Some very sentimental and priceless items are now gone and lost forever leaving me very upset and disappointed. The lock was cut with bolt cutters, all things were sifted through and many expensive items were stolen. I only rented here for 6 short weeks. I have rented other places for years in past and NEVER had this problem. There are no cameras in the interior corridors so nothing was caught on camera. There is a VERY heavy homeless population that rent (and possibly live) here as well. I did not know this when I first rented. When I noticed it, we spoke with the staff on site and was assured that it was not an issue and our items were safe. This was not the case as when I returned the next time, our unit had been broken into. Although the staff on site was sympathetic when informed of the break in, they have not done anything to rectify or make the situation any better. There has been no follow up from their end, and to be honest, when informed of the break in, they did not seem very surprised, making me think this happens at this location. Although I completely understand that all renters sign a waiver that states Public Storage is not responsible for all damage/theft/flood etc., I would think that management would do something a sign of good will to help soften the blow of losing so many irreplaceable items and the enormous headache of now having to deal with hours/months of insurance claims. I spoke with the offsite manager on the phone and was not offered any refund for the 6 weeks rent I paid here. I was just told that they would pass my request along. I wish I had known to NOT ever rent here before and will never rent from a Public Storage Unit service ever again. read more

I had to move to a new home without a lot of space for my photography equipment and had to find safe storage quickly. I needed indoor storage on a ground-level since my equipment are very heavy. I shopped around but either they were very expensive or had to commit to a term or just not available. I called Public Storage and they gave me a month for a dollar and was set up on the phone. You can open the gate with their phone app and there is a keypad on the door to my space for additional security. I did have an issue with the keypad the first day and called the service number but they weren't able to help so I had to take my stuff back and come back the next morning until the office opened. Also, I had the office send me an email saying that I emptied my space and had to call to find out whats going on. I was scared to death but later I found out that a new employee mistakenly sent a wrong email to me. Even though I love Public Storage, I cant give a full five start due to these reasons. But overall, I am satisfied with my storage space! read more

After over 1-1/2 years renting a unit (for over $200 a month) I decided to get one closer to where I relocated. Because I had been traveling, I opted to pay by auto payments so none would be missed. Big mistake. HUGE mistake. When I vacated the unit on August 5th, I was told I would not get a prorated refund of my rent even though my gate access was cancelled and a lock put on the unit to show it was available to rent. Can you say "DOUBLE DIPPING"? I wrote an email to customer service, got the same runaround, all they could give me was the legal department's number, which was a general number to the Glendale corporate offices. I will be calling corporate legal department Monday August 21st to try and get the refund, if I don't I will be taking them to small claims court. What a ripoff. PS, the restroom is always filthy and always locked, so if there is no one around to give you the key you're out of luck. read more

This is very dangerous place, I've been using this storage for a month and a half now and from the first day, I noticed that there are several homeless people literally live there, although the storage policy only allows customer to stay maximum 2 hrs, these people park their cars for a very long time sleeping, eating, listen to music, bring people when management people gone home and very disturbing to normal facility users like myself. So I visited the office and asked manager Randy and assistant manager Mike if they were aware of these people and they said they know there are some people who stay exceedingly but can't do anything as long as they stay 2 hrs per visit. I complained regarding this matter three time and they still won't do anything and rather accusing me of creating a trouble out of nothing and defending themselves. I felt helpless and stopped by at the local Police Station and explained about the situation and got the case number which is 16-48776 Now I realized that there are many unhappy customers at this location here looking at these negative feedbacks...... You will notice from these manager's attitudes when you step into their office at your fist visit, unkind, rigid and tone of Randy's voice are quite different than other storage companies. Please stay away from this facility even if this is close by or little cheaper (not cheaper than anywhere else though) at all cost because you will feel intimidated by these homeless people and managers all together. read more

Zero stars. Today is move in day 11-11-2020. There policy is that you must buy one of their locks. They said all I need to do is break the seal upon arrival and the lock will be inside. Once I arrived at the location I see the seal has already been broken (which can be easily done). The lock was missing. Either this is an internal scam or the customers they serve are dishonest. I felt the need to write a review for the Public Storage in Fullerton. I have been a tenant of this Public Storage for a couple of years and Randy (the property manager) has always been professional to me, as I'm sure he is to everyone. While I was in the office this past Friday being helped by Randy, there was a man waiting behind me in the office who was impatient and upset that he was waiting to be helped. This man threatened Randy by writing a negative review on the spot and commented that on a previous visit that Randy "reeked of alcohol." Randy handled the situation well and even thought it was funny that this man was so upset over waiting a few minutes! Randy had told me that he can't drink because of health issues. I recommend this location to anyone needing storage. The management is solid and handles problem customers well. Kudos to Randy! read more

If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. I went online and reserved a storage unit and received confirmation saying my unit was reserved and that I could move in on November 2nd and to come at least 30 minutes before closing at 6pm. I filled out all the paperwork online so that it would be a speedy check in. I arrived at approximately 4pm on November 2nd(which is 2 hours before closing) with my confirmation email, my ID, and my whole car full of boxes to put in the storage unit. When I arrived, the man at the desk was assisting another customer. He looked at me and asked if I needed help, and I said I am here to check in for the unit I reserved. He asked for my name, which I gave to him and he said that he had received my reservation and that he tried to call me. I told him I was at work and unable the call and he was said well then I will have to wait because he is assisting someone else. I told him that it was fine, and that I will wait. 20 minutes goes by and he finishes up with the customer and I go inside. The first thing he says to me is "well youre out of luck because I just gave them the unit you reserved" I told him youre kidding right? and he was like no, you didnt answer my call sooooo I gave it to them. WHATTT?!! First off, he lets me wait 20 minutes to check in knowing what unit I reserved and the proceeds to tell me he gave it to someone else even though I was there waiting to check in? Second, no where in the policy does it say that if I do not answer the phone call that I forfeit the unit. What is the point of reserving a specific unit online and receiving a confirmation number for your reservation if they give it away because you were unable to answer a call. What if you dont have a phone? What happens then? The service that we received was insanely ridiculous. This public storage DOES NOT CARE at all about you. If you do not believe my story, read the multiple bad reviews before mine. They say things happen for a reason and its good that I did not get the unit, especially after the service I received, the numerous homeless coming in and out multiple times, and the reviews that I read on this page about mice and ants YUCK...no way. I found another storage facility down the road who was willing to accommodate me at a cheaper rate for a larger storage unit and it was DRIVE UP!!! And on top of that, they gave me great customer service, gee what a concept! I would highly recommend this employee change his unprofessional attitude if you want to get more customers. I will be warning all of my family, friends, coworkers and customers (yes I work with a huge community in the area) of this storage facility. I was scheduled to empty storage unit by April 2nd (which was a Wednesday) , but I was not able to DUE TO THE QUARANTINE. I called and was referred to the manager. I called the manager and was told there was nothing she could do, that I would be charged FULL PRICE for month of April. I told her I would be able to empty the storage Saturday morning April 5th, because I only left my house once a week for essentials. I was willing to pay for a week, but having to pay for the month is RIDICULOUS. She suggested I get someone to come empty it for me ! Ummm, there is a WORLD WIDE PANDEMIC ! NOONE IS GOING ANYWHERE. I said I'm lucky to get someone to come help me on Saturday! Sorry, but I signed a contract. Yes, I signed the contract BEFORE there was a worldwide pandemic ! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This storage place coerced an elderly widow that she needed 2 10' x 30' units by saying that they were going fast and she needed to decide right now and charged her over $760.00 for them then would not refund anything for the unused storage unit after all her belongings fit into one unit. Calls go to voicemail. No one returns calls. Even 800 number doesn't reach anyone with authority. Had to go to district manager to get any help. Beware of this facility!!!!! read more
