Sneak in behind someone at the gate, and expect your unit's alarm to go off, with the caretaker coming by in two minutes. Good pricing, especially for drive up units. Only negative is sand. Disrespect After an Hour Wait Around 4 pm, I signed my contract to rent a unit at A1 Storage located in Fullerton. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service received during my visit on Sunday November 2nd, 2025. That left me feeling disrespected and honestly belittled. With a busy lobby, the initial employee respectfully asked us to wait at my assigned unit to remove the lock. We waited at our storage unit as instructed, up until 5:00 pm (when the office is closed). When no one showed up, my family member stayed at the unit with my belongings, while I walked back to the office. I walked into the lobby at 5:03 pm and spoke to a different, younger employee, asking if they can open my unit. Me: "My unit # is still locked can you have someone unlock it please" 2nd Employee: "It's already unlocked" (Just coming back from my locked unit, I asked,) Me: "Oh is someone going there to unlock it right now?" 2nd Employee: "It's already been unlocked" Being assured twice about information I knew to be incorrect, it prompted me to end the conversation as it was no longer productive to speak with this particular employee. **I concluded our conversation before leaving the office with "Oh, ok, thank you." As I turned to leave, I clearly heard the same employee MOCK the way I said "Thank you" to another staff member. This kind of unprofessional, petty behavior is completely unacceptable, especially after being kept waiting for so long.** Back at my unit, the employee I spoke to initially was apologetic and explained the issue: another employee unlocked the adjacent unit by mistake. While I appreciate the apology for the error and delay, the experience was ruined by the hour-long wait and the inexcusable mocking by the second employee. While the initial staff member I spoke with around 4:15 pm (a gentleman with a black wedding ring) was incredibly kind and helpful. At first, I was perfectly fine waiting for my storage unit to be opened since the lobby was busy. However, the overall experience as a first time renter at A1 Storage was surprising and disappointing. Customer time and basic courtesy should be respected. I cannot recommend this location. read more
