Im not one who is normally prone 2 complaining or 2 be taken advantage of. But,this business is using current social climate 2 change the rules 2 accommodate themselves & 2 lessen the actual "work" that they may encounter on a daily basis. This may be an isolated problem due 2 poor management but I suspect it's become an acceptable practice company wide. The storage facility industry is fraught with many issues & I'm sure its a challenge 2 keep some tenants from abusing the rules & guidelines. However,due 2 the nature of the business & the fact that those in management, LIVE ON PROPERTY-therefore allowing for a hands-on approach 2 customer relations. At the same time,keeping in mind that every paying customer deserves 2 be treated respectfully. This Public Storage location has decided that due2 things like the local homelessness problems & "break-in" concerns,that making legitimate renters suffer by changing gate access hours 2 an unreasonable time frame (9:30 am to 6pm M-F & 9:30 am to 5pm on Sun!)While still charging premium prices! Naomi is a rockstar. I picked this location over other facilities because of the outstanding customer service reviews given to this location. Naomi is identified again and again in the reviews and I understand why. She expertly navigated my online reservation, completed my contract, showed me my locker, and handled other requests and phone calls. The location is getting some renovations to include upgrades in the alarm system. I feel pretty safe storing my belongings here. read more

We went in to rent a unit and met Naomi. She is pretty amazing. Her customer service skills are incredible. Even with an office full of customers, she handled the chaos like a champ. People came in for various reasons and not only did she help each one but she was greeting them by name and making everyone feel welcome and valued. She is knowledgeable and efficient at her job. RATS! i stored my property for one month and there were not only rat droppings, everything plastic was chewed up and destroyed by the rats, there were two dead HUGE rats on a sticky trap they left there. i also recorded a rat trying at the top of the unit going to the next unit. highly over priced. there is no $1 month, i paid $333 to move in and recurring $270 a month. also a public storage lock was given to me to use out of package and over $2000 in property was stolen, with lock intact. there are so many major issues, vagrants populate the area in the evening. now i am getting pushed around by the company. please do not use this site. read more

Called for price quote and I spoke with Dee. She said the price of a 5x10 unit at about $90 a month. That's too high for us and she asked what target price we were looking for. I said around $60 and she said "In California? $60?!" Then laughed at me and said I wouldn't find any in that range. (Which we did). Never doing business with pushy sales people. read more

Received prompt, personalized, and professional service from Naomi at Public Storage on Beck in Fairfield, Ca. Storage compartment, clean and roomy; easily located. I would recommend Public Storage to anyone looking for local storage. I feel that the customer's belongings are their primary and first concern. While paying for storage, a person came into the shop and wanted to gain access to someone's other than her storage. Naomi was polite but insistent in telling the person that they needed ID or something on the contract to gain access to the storage bin. Koodos for her! She appears to take our storage seriously. This storage facility is kept clean and well lit with camera security and checks on storage on a regular basis. I would like to thank Tessa who did a great job for me. When I arrived at my storage unit to pack up my items to vacate, which was in one of the interior storage , there was a stench that was so bad you had to step out for for fresh air. The entire interior corridor smelled foul. I alerted the office manager and she said she would call the owner. She even smelled the stench as well. When I brought my items home they smelled of the foul odor and still do...2 months later!!! I followed up with the manager but was advised they called an exterminator and they reported nothing was wrong. I was then told not to call them but to file a claim but was denied because a permeating odor wasn't covered. Public Storage has not taken responsibility for ruining my contents nor have they been helpful in the least. Stay away from this Public Storage!!! They are as foul as the smell in their units!!!!! read more

My wife and I purchased a unit after our marriage, to store items we would need in our new home. To our shock we returned months later to find our items had been stolen!. The lock we purchased on there recommendation is actually very cheap and easy to pick. The customer service by the employe who took our initial claim was unsympathetic and frustrating to say the least. I would not choose public storage unless I could absolutely not find anything else. Please think twice before storing your items here and DO NOT buy there lock or any suggested by them. read more

Thought the extra cost here would be worth it but I was wrong. First month is free, but they make you buy insurance monthly. The woman who checked us in was wonderful, and the unit was clean. But upon second use the lock that they gave/sold us broke, the key broke off in it. I went to the office to exchange it and the guy informed me that he would only sell me a new one for $20, not exchange the shitty one they originally sold us, and informed us that we could not leave the premises until our unit was locked. He essentially held us hostage until we spent an additional $20 buying their crappy locks. If I had had a moving truck I would have moved all my stuff right then and there. Avoid this place, with a 50% chance that you are going to get terrible customer service and the additional cost it's no wonder they have to give away a month for free to attract customers. read more

We are completely happy and beyond pleased with this storage facility and the staff. They are always incredibly helpful, go out of their way to help us and are friendly, good people. The facility is well maintained, clean and has very good security measures in place. And their prices are very competitive. We highly recommend this storage unit. read more

The clerk is nice but she goes really fast over the rules. She did not explain well enough that I was to take the locks off when I leave. As I moved away from Fairfield, I did not have access to their office when i took my last stuff out. My wife came by to give them the keys to the locks and they charged me an extra $150 for not giving them the keys on the day I was to check out. They offered to charge me less. My wife did not take it. I am still in dispute. The district manager has yet to contact me 2 weeks later to resolve. Mr P read more
