Zero stars. Do not rent any unit from this storage. It may be the most affordable in town but it's terrible. I've been renting a 5x10 for a couple years and using a heavy duty lock that mini U storage sold me with both keys in package. My unit was ROBBED and they took thousands of dollars worth of my things. ALL MY STUFF WAS LEFT OPEN. Thrashed. The office said people had been hopping over the gate and cutting locks off people doors. Sure, But I find it suspicious that my storage unit was fine until they got a new fresh 20 y/o manager. Why was my lock and my door left with no signs of forceable entry? Because their insurance won't cover "theft or mysterious disappearance"! So they wouldn't have to reimburse me! Only burglary which shows signs of forceable entry is fileable and allows reimbursement. So I'm effed and I'm pretty sure the manager has something to do with my stuff missing. Do Not Rent Here Unless You Want Your Stuff STOLEN!! I rented a shipping container and it was broken into. The front arms were disconnected from the locking mechanism. It has to been someone who has the time to do it (onsite manager) When I reported it to the manager he argued with me and said no it wasn't, over and over. I filled a police report and then an insurance claim. My monthly payment was due the same day I reported the break in. The manager refused to take my payment twice so the insurance wouldn't cover me because it wasn't paid. Then the jerk blocked my gate code so I had NO Access to the facility. When he did finally take my payment 2 weeks later; and made me pay a late fee, told be I could only come when the office was open and I had to have him personally open the gate. Then gave me 7 days to vacate. Sounds fishy right? Why would he do all of this? Because he's the one who broke into it. I filled a complaint with the BBB and the department of consumer affairs. He used the excuse that I vandalized my unit because I repainted with the same color paint where the front was scraped off when they broke in. I only did this so I could yell if it was broken into again. Not vandalize anything. Better be safe than sorry. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE. They have signs that say they have cameras but they DO NOT HAVE CAMERAS. The 23 year old on site manager is the only security. FAIL!! read more

Very unhappy now as prices have increased drastically as well as all my belonging are ruined covered in thick dust and dirt- not just a little A LOT and all over everything! I'm so upset and I was told I'm not allowed to sweep or blow the dust out!?!??. Plus when it rains I can't even access my storage cause the door gets stuck and when I called to ask for help to open it they were not very prompt to help and seemed unsure if they even could. [As of June 3] This I was searching around town for storage places with vacancy. Nothing was turning up. The only one that came through for me was MiniU storage. I was so relieved to find out that had a large unit as well! We were helped promptly by Rory. He guided us through the rental process and even hooked us up with a military discount! Our first month rent was half off due to their special, so ask for it if it's still available. The reception desk/office is a bit cramped. Probably hold up to four people before it gets too cramped. Security is well established. A great history after new management tool over. If you ever need storage, try these guys out. Friendly and accommodating. This facility is OK, the doors are made of press wood or particle board less than 1/4" thick. Whereas, other storage facilities are made of steel. No cameras in the hallways of the storage area or any dollies for personal use. Customer service is crap. There are two people managing the facility. The guy is the one who has an attitude problem, which is surely bad for business and why I had to cancel my unit. This is why I had to knock it down 2 stars. Mini U storage fit my needs just fine as far as the unit itself . I've only been there for a few months but within that duration the manager /owner of the facility seemed to go out of his way to hover , ask a bunch of questions , meddle in my personal business . The storage itself was like 130$ then add insurance and it's like 149$ .. and now they are raising the price another 10$. Last month while I was parked on the street near the entrance some guy drove into mini u storage driveway really fast and made a u turn then sped away . Rory (manager ) assumed and asked me if it was my boyfriend . I answered politely that it was not and that my bf was a couple cities away working . He continued to press the issue that it had to be him because the person looked like him and then later said they watched the video and it had to be my bf because the arm of the man on the video was tattooed . Because my bF has to be the only white dude with a half sleeve in Vacaville . Facts right ??? Lol so he tried to say my bf who hadn't done anything wrong is not allowed there . Then today as we drive out at 5 miles per hour (u can't go any faster there's a gate you have to wait on ) I receive a ridiculous email harassing us once again and threatening consequences . I think this place SUX and I only was lured in by the fact that I moved into the unit for 20$ and that was it for the whole month . Don't be fooled .. this old fashioned man seems nice but he is nosey judgemental , close minded , stereotypes ppl and oversteps boundaries between customer and management . He rudely and ignorantly made assumptions and then unfairly acted on them . I am moving out As soon as I can . The owners are always on grounds watching like hawks who enters and exits and they are assertive about each customer entering their personal code in & out no matter if someone else opened the gate, making this a very safe property. The property is extremely clean, orderly, they highly regulate the speed of all vehicles, and it's SAFE! The managers/Owners are always working hard or assisting customers. I have been using their property for storage for a year and I know that my belongings will not be broken into or tampered with. They help many of their customers, are available when needed, and extremely friendly, straightforward, and professional. I recommend this company purely based on that!
