I've had 2 storage units at public storage of TC just around 6:10 for 11 months I got both of them at the same price and they've never charged for them the same price they also charged me for insurance when I had already had homeowners insurance they kept charging every single month for 2 storages I kept calling the corporate office didn't even get a phone call back 5 months later. They credited my account amazingly $60 which didn't cover all of that stuff and they upped the price of both storage units $45 each and closed 3 hours earlier without telling me, or warning me. I don't get done working until 530 and they were closing at 6 and 5 on the weekends. the upper management is extremely rude Taryn Cox is the district manager or something and was extremely rude and her boss Brandon was rude. I could get no help from anyone in an upper management. I took my card off auto pay at 1 point because I was waiting on them to reimburse me for all the extra charges they were charging, which never fully happened and Then I started charging me late charges so ridiculous and a nightmare read more

This storage place is stressing me out. Last night I found out that they charged me $410.15 for a unit that i don't know I have. On Feb 17th I was looking for one that I can drive up to, but they did not have one. However, I filled out the renting forms on line with public storage. The thing is you can't get some important information until all forms are filled out. Anyhow, they did not have the unit out side. So, the lady that called me to confirmed everything told me their other facilities might have one and she was going to reached out to them. So I said, "fine, but cancel the one at Fort Weaver. She said alright. 5 mins later, Waipio public storage called and said, yes they have one. So, I filled out the forms for them. All this time I did not see any email from Fort Weaver indicating I also have a unit with them. So, my trust in people kept me from checking. But last night I got a chance to check my credit card and I was in shock because they charged me $410.25. So, I tried to looked for their agreement with me but all I see was the Waipio one. But then I when on their app. and Lord have mercy, their's was on there. I don't have anything there in their, and I have never step for there. So now I am contacting them about it but the guy I spoke to seem not too concern and sounded like he was trying to put the blame on me for not seeing the rental agreement which honestly I did not see until last night. People, go somewhere else. I don't know if I'm getting my money back... they will take your money if you told them to canceled. read more

I had a great experience. Top Notch Superb Customer Service! Please see Paulette. She helped us when the availability came up with the size storage I needed. I did not want to go further from my residence even though it was cheaper at other storage areas. I got a bigger storage with a few bucks more but saves me from gas and time. Visiting the site and paperwork did not take long at all to process and I got half of my boxes in the there in no time. Clean facilities and very convenient. read more

Paulette was great, customer service was five star. Thirty minutes was all it took for the paperwork and a very efficient, comprehensive orientation. The facilities are clean and maintained. The four star rating is in consideration of the limited hours of availability; gates are closed at 9pm. Honestly, it doesn't matter whether we are in a statue a global pandemic or not; I have always been the type of person that I will pay the money to go where I am appreciated and respected as a valued customer/client. Well let's just say I have been coming here since 2013 and don't choose to go anywhere else and the main reason for that is Wayne. Yes the price is a little out there I will say that, but to know that I have a safe and secure place to have my items that I cannot have at my home is such a load off of my mind. No stress, no hassle, no complaints. The hours for the office is really awesome to be honest not like a lot of other businesses that close at 4 and you can never get there in time after work if you need to deal with an issue. I just want to take the time to say that Wayne is such an awesome property manager and I don't know how things would be as organized if he wasn't. Wayne has always helped me in any situation I might have been in and had just gone beyond the call of what I believed his duties to have been limited to. He shows you that he's there for you to help you. For example, the last time that I had gone to my storage I received a phone call from Wayne to inform me that my storage wasn't quite closed all the way, which opted us to go and have it properly closed. Had he not contacted me I can't imagine what would've happened to my things in that storage. I saw that as Wayne being thorough and diligent at his job, a person who takes prides upon his work which anyone can tell you is rare these days. I opened up a storage unit with Public Storage through Makerita who was very helpful and informative, while not being pushy. She was very polite and personable, which was what sealed the deal and convinced me to rent a storage unit there. She was very knowledgeable about the facility itself, and was a very good and informative salesperson of the other products (boxes, bags, etc.) available. Another factor that weighed in my decision was the cleanliness and organization of the facility from the office to storage units, which were dust free and seemed to be pretty secure. If you plan on getting a storage unit at Public Storage, check the internet for special offers as I got my unit on the internet at a considerable discount, compared with the walk in price. Our house just burned down 4 days ago. We found out yesterday that we had until today so that's 2 days to get all of our belongings that were salvageable. Well, tonight we had one small load to bring up to our unit before the storage closed. We also never got to shut the unit door. So it's wide open. The RUDE guy that works there knows that our house burned down is forcing us to leave the property instead of allowing us up to bring that last load up to empty the uhaul and close our unit. We have to rent the uhaul for a whole mother day. This is only our second day with them and the guy is HORRIBLE. The lady that is there is sweet and caring. Don't get a unit here if he still works here. He has no emotions and has no idea how to be in charge because any normal person would have made an exception especially for people like us who lost our home, most of our belongings, and have really no money to our names. He needs to work at McDonalds. Minimum wage for minimal effort. read more

I was dreading the thought of having to put my stuff in storage until I sat down to talk to Annie!!! I went by when it was almost closing time and she still helped me out with a smile. I didn't get the unit that day but she showed me the units and this allowed me to go home and think it over before making a decision the next day. When I went back the next day, Annie got me through the process quickly and now I'm loading my stuff in and feel it's secure. The facility appears to be secure and well kept. You have to use your security code about 3 times before getting to your indoor unit, sucks for us people with bad memory. The pricing is a little higher than the other storage facilities but it is more convenient for the area I live in. Bottom line, great customer service from Annie which makes her AWESOME!! I reserved an outside unit on line and Wayne quick to call and confirm reservations, when arriving to the storage he sat down and asked questions of what I was going to store in unit. We walked out to looking at unit it was fine but seems like he was such in a rush while walking there, like hey I'm a big gal sorry. So he opens unit door and I'm taking a look and not fully scoping out every inch top to bottom, all I'm looking at an thinking, is this space big enough for my things? So I was fine with it, he closed the unit door and tells me to take the lock he gave me an told me to lock it. After locking it he tells me okay those are your hold on to it an it cost $19.99 plus tax period. So I asked what if I have my own lock he said well in order to hold that space I need to have that lock on, so why didn't you say that prior to walking out to unit? So we get into office and then he is hustling me to buy boxes an protective covers for my things I mentioned that I would be storing, then not to mention the fees along with insurance I had to pay up front all this hidden cost cost me over $200. I only went to this place cause it was close and convenient for me to haul, and it was $1 for the first month rent. Not knowing that was wack I came in half of the month and in 2 weeks time I found out that I have to pay $427.00 on the 1st of the next month.. talk about false advertisement! So I'm like telling myself okay bare with it I need to get my things and moving out cause I was on a deadline. Later that evening I get to my storage unit to off load, if I didn't catch my horrors I open the door to a centipede crawling and my son killed it. Finally I'm looking on the walls of the unit there is old termite nest or heaven knows what else was nesting in there. I was even more upset so my son and I just off loaded on the containers I had in my car, the beds and stuffs I was hoping to put in storage went right back home with me I refuse to leave it there. Who knows what else I be Housing when I take it to my new place? 2 days later went in and had a talk with another guy cause Wayne was not in, I asked if there was another unit I can move to cause of my situation I had experience couple days ago. He frankly said I'm sorry we cannot accommodate you cause there is no other unit being that size. I even told him I'll take a size smaller I'm desperate, he said he couldn't help me cause I reserved the unit online and that's all they had. But offered to spray around my unit and said he can't guarantee me that they will be no more bugs and rodents.. I was disappointed and told me I'm gonna move my stuffs out by the end of the month and I will be closing my account. This unit was located at the end of the property in a cement wall didn't take notice that there was an opening right above the storage door, I thought it was enclosed like the rest along side the buildings.. was very disappointed in the prices and the hustle an all around Wayne's poor customer service he had the nerve to tell me when I came in to close the account, what was the problem and next time I should've let him know ahead of time. He made me feel guilty as if I had wasted his time to getting set up with a unit that I was in for in less than 2 weeks.. read more

***TAKE YOUR OWN LOCK*** property manager Wayne will all to do to conceal this tip and no where does it say to bring a lock why well because they charge you $19.99 for a sub standard round lock that if this lock was sold in a hardware store would be your cheapest option.no you cannot go home and get your lock while on the intro tour of the property he will show you your unit and magically pulls a lock out of his ....I don't know pocket maybe but has you "secure" your unit with this lock and your surprise is coming while you process your paperwork and that $1 first month turns into $60 with a $25 processing fee tax and yep that lock he handed you to secure your unit $19.99 can I get mine from home and return yours"no you had to secure your unit" nowhere does it say to bring your own lock I have 10 locks I don't need another "you had to secure your unit" again like a robot repeating a programmed phrase and you will experience this robotic phrases throughout your experience with Wayne. Careful on your closing times because then you have to deal with Wayne the robot to open the gate with the programmed phrases designed for after closing time and an attitude of you just interrupted my Brady bunch reruns.***take your own lock or buy one for half the price and better quality*** read more

They are conducting Illegal contracting processes and rediculous rate increases. If at all possible, save yourself the trouble and dollars by staying away from any Public Storage facility! I have been with the Ewa Beach facility since 2008 and I am consistently amazed at the percentage and frequency that this company continuously raises my rates. The contract you sign with them will mean nothing to this company and they will continue to attempt to change the terms you mutually agreed to. A couple examples of what is happening to me (and I'm sure you too if you are already a customer): If you are ever late on your payment please check to see what amount they are charging you for your late fee. They claim that they can charge you 20% of your monthly rent however your contract will state a specific dollar figure not a percentage and unless they send you a specific late fee increase they must charge you as per the contract you signed. They were actually charging me double what is allowed. The second item you should look at is the date as to when you will get pro-rated for when you finally do end your contract, mine says the 15th of each month however they office attempted to tell me that they changed that to the 6th of each month. Again this is another example of changing contract terms illegally. I'm sure there are many other practices that we as customers are being taken advantage of, you just have to ask. I would have loved to rent from the ewa beach public storage location, because Paulette and Anne been so nice to me with my reservations and answering all kines of questions that I had. Today 6/8/2015 I called to speak to Anne and there manager Wayne there was so rude. He talks to me with an attitude. That Wayne guy been a problem from years ago when I needed a storage space. This time he made me upset where now I wont rent from them and now I need to find another location to rent from. He needs to understand that customers needs to be serviced with 100 percent respect... He should learn not to shout while talking to people and also talking to them like there stupid. He just lost business from his location now that I am renting from a different location.. Okay, so the customer service we received was awesome and our representative was Paulette. We had originally confirmed a 5x5 storage unit. But when looking at the unit we decided it was way too small. So we chose a 10x10 unit. Paulette explained the details and told us about the pro rated information. She also warned us up front of the late fees and amounts that would be charged if we were 30, 60, or 90 days late on paying. I was relieved when she explained all the information, given the reviews. Bad customer service! Rates go up! In a struggling situation,no leniency ! Spoke to Bryan from the mainland number for customer service help,told us a lesser fee since we are moving and don't need a full month. Chuck who is the district manager for Ewa beach public storage did not honor it. Even if you need 3 days in a month ,no matter what you will pay a months full payment. Very unhelpful. Extra space in Kapolei is giving us a month free,which public storage hasn't, and are only charging 5x5x8 for $84. Public storage charged me 5x5x7 for $124 . Very unhappy with their customer service. Nice personality may seem appealing but all they want is that $$$$$. They don't deserve a star but unfortunately I have to put 1 in order to write a review. My sister in law who had also rented there paid with CREDIT CARD, they took a huge payment out and did not reimburse her for the extra money they took out.It has been 4 months later and still,no solid communications for her money being returned. From my personal experience I would not recommend this place. First off I was always on time paying the rent and never late. I decided after a while it was too expensive and did not like the requirement of paying "storage" insurance at a "required" monthly fee of $11.00 in addition to the rent. The also pay for a "required" lock from them.. The real point I am making is this... I scheduled a move out date. I came in and payed the rent; I Was asked do you want to pay the pro rated amount or the whole rent; I decided I was a nice guy and decided to pay the whole rent; THIS WAS A VERY BAD DECISION AND YOU NEVER EVER PAY THE FULL AMOUNT WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO MOVE OUT PERIOD.... sO THE DAY BEFORE THE SCHEDULED MOVE OUT i HURT MY LEG AND WAS IN ONE OF THOSE BOOTS. i CALLED AND ASKED COULD THE MOVE OUT DATE BE RE SCHEDULED THE NEXT DAY SO MY FRIENDS CAN COME AND HELP ME MOVE OUT. tHE FEMALE THERE TOLD ME no. you MOVE OUT ON THAT DAY YOU WILL NOT BE PRO RATED AND THEY KEEP THE WHOLE MONTHS RENT.. ( Pardon the caps lock was on ).. So on the scheduled move out day I showed up in my truck and moved everything out, In severe pain; BUT I got out.. I called the next day to confirm they knew I was out as scheduled. I got the same female and now I started to hear organ grinder music and the merry go round started to twirl... She now tells me " Corporate Office - in California ) can not deduct the pro rate from the rent I paid since it went through. She tells me I have to pay the prorate amount ON TOP of the rent already paid and maybe get my full rent amount back in maybe SIX WEEKS.. Now here where the BS gets allot thicker. SHE tells me SHE contacted the DM and they are pro rating the rent as a courtesy? WTH nothing was mentioned like that ( music getting louder ).. SHE tells me she called him. I asked can I have that in writing since she is telling me she got a "e mail" response back? Nope she claims she can't "e mail" customers and only Corporate? Huh?? ( Now the merry go round is spinning very fast ) ; I ask can I have anything in writing; nope.. So now I am to be required to tie up a months rent and pro rated rent for a really undetermined amount of time... We we will see; I actually have documented evidence of these calls and WILL use them in any required legal action; IF it becomes necessary. read more
