I have been back here 2 times before to store various things. Now I am back for a 3rd. The manager was very understanding of my needs and the size unit I wanted. She showed me one, but it didn't seem right. She showed me a second and I'm happy as a lark! Great customer service! With that being said, no everything can't be peaches and cream, through and through right!? A.) Down sides are, the rent for the storage unit will go up faster than your landlord will raise your rent on a rental property. It felt like it was going up every 3-6 months, until I was priced out and all my junk went back to the same place I cleaned out. B.) It is climate controlled. Yes, it might feel warm when you walk in during the day. But at night, it cools off and can cause moisture to build. Make sure you put dry packs in your boxes. C.) This is not Public Storage, where you go up in the elevator with your stuff. No, you go and grab a trolly, load it up, push it into the elevator, send it up and you walk up the stairs to retrieve it. Personally, I think this is a PLUS....why?? Because I am getting the exercise I need. Maybe its something we may all need? But I can see how someone who's lazy would complain. And I haven't seen a single rat, nor any droppings. Will update as things go along and/or change. read more

Extra space business philosophy needs to be exposed. I am a frequent user of the service at extra space - from coast to coast - I have / had units in WA, NV, CT, CA and others. 3 units at a time at WA location. My issue? Every three months - like clockwork the first rate increase hits. Then about month 5 another rate increase. So in a year you begin with one price and end up with two increases and not modest either. Mine were over $120 in one year! Extra space hides behind the "month to month" "special rates" arguments but have never said the frequency of those increases. $60 rate increase is a lot. For anyone. People think it's too much and they complain and extra space does nothing. Like they want you to move. And we do. Move to another unit - get the same price you had for three months - move again and on and on. Or move out. I have complained and will complain so there is a record of the business philosophy as extra space is definitely NOT loyal customers are great. More customers are great they think and they raise the price to get those customers - unless you store elsewhere, move every 3 months, or do not even bother and rent elsewhere. I've dealt with this years now and over 7 locations in 6 states - this being the latest - as I got my rent increase notice - right at the same time as the other locations. Hey Extra Space. Loyal long term customers are what you want - not turn over - you are losing money from us regulars. In the end you should avoid extra space unless 3 months or less. No long term storage for us military families possible. So I'm off to the next extra space to see if they are the same treatment (I know they are) Avoid it and ask about price increases frequency- maybe another storage company will guarantee your rate for 6 or more months! read more

When we first reserved our unit, customer service was nice and moving our items in was easy and convenient. We have only been storing our items for a month and we came to grab a couple items we needed and we immediately found rodent droppings and pee. Our items are now dirty and some have been damaged. This place is not clean. We found an alive rat in the unit as we were leaving but it ran before we could get a photo. Consider other places, as these units are not secure and it's your responsibility if anything happens which may end up costing you more. read more

The pricing is lower than most other storage places. it's a good idea to get a visual on the size of unit you want to be sure it meets your criteria. Easy access with a gate code. Supply your own lock or you can buy one from them. Paperwork was a breeze and done quickly. Monthly payments auto deductible from whatever account you want. I was greeted well when I arrived and was quickly shown all the sizes of what I was looking for. My customer aka guide was very informative and I was little disoriented because I just didn't know where I was. After I purchased my desired size I made sure I went to their website to check out the specials and yes I did get it online. Make sure you go online before you go in, got some good specials BUT make sure you get their direct phone line cause I got lost in the building when I went to put some of my belongings into my storage......lol! read more

I made a mistake booking a storage unit without realizing that the previous unit I was in had high ceilings and realized that my items were not going to fit in the unit I just signed a contract for. Well, the place is pretty clean and nice. However my unit was broken in, and due to the fact I working in oversea I could not go over what lost until 1.5 years later. Some computer equipment been taken. I end up need to pay them to replace the lock and also seems the company does not offer any courtesy compensation as the incident in the process of try to file paper work with my home owner insurance. read more

I wish I got her name but she took me around to look at several sizes. It is clean and temperature controlled. So far all I've done at this location was visit, choose an unit and do the paperwork BUT so far so good! I chose this particular location because of the employees who have assisted me so far. When I first called I spoke to a Jocelyn who was most friendly even though I was not even close to signing a contract at that time. Well I didn't actually rent a space from this facility, but only because it was too far a drive from town. They definitely have the best rates. Anyway, I reserved a space online, but ended up getting one closer to my home. I accidentally paid for this spot instead of the other, & was scared I'd be charged twice. Sheri was really great when I signed up! Since I just moved to Oahu she even offered to answer any questions relating to the island life itself. The facility is really clean and cared for and seems really secure. A couple of days after I moved stuff in, staff member Hannah called me because she noticed I hadn't put a lock on my unit and it was important to do so right away, which I did. When we were moving out to Hawaii from the mainland it was going to cost around $5000 to hire movers and get our stuff out here. Being pretty pretty cheap, I thought. "there's got to be a better way!" So I started to call UPS stores, storages facilities and everything in-between to see if they could receive packages and store them for more than a few days (we were traveling between moving-out and moving-in (long story)). Some said yes initially but checked with their manager, or realized that I was talking about 50+ boxes for upwards of two months they bugged out. Eventually, by the virtue of calling almost every storage and mailboxes etc on the island I found Extra Space. It turns out they do everything that I needed (receive and store in storage units) to save over $3000 dollars on moving. I was stoked. The staff was real helpful over the phone and just as helpful when I showed up. They had personally moved all of my 50-70lb boxed to a far corner of the storage campus and stacked them quite nicely in my locker to ensure that the space was well used. Upon opening my locker I thought to myself, "self, they stacked these boxes as nicely as I would have (hella nicely)." Again, stoked. I really recommend people take advantage of this for moving their stuff and storing it was well. The only downside, for me, was they don't prorate so if you're planning ahead make sure not to go a day over your month or else you pay for the whole month even though you were just there for one day. read more

Phone wait was a bit long but after that the customer service I received is amazing. They are the cheapest I could find in the area with the right amount of space. Not too big nor too small. I dropped by when they were about to have a managers meeting, having to be around a lot of them one gentleman stood out and started a friendly conversation. To know that the staff would just talk to you knowing that all eye are on you as a customer made me feel a bit special. He was a very friendly person. Everything to start was just fine, essentially the rate i was looking for, clean and accessible. several months in after you are nice and comfortable with your things in storage(or can't take in back out anymore) they send you notice of an increase in monthly rate. And after reading another review on here i should be expecting more. Log onto the website and they are still renting my same unit for the original price. No longer have space to move our stuff out, except moving to another storage company. Which i am sure is what they are counting on. with only a couple months left on Island we are stuck paying whatever rate they ask. Hope this helps someone else before they are stuck. read more
