Worst place ever! I will never be using Public Storage again. It's a scam, they are expensive, and hidden fees such as $19 for a Lock!! Sorry I didn't get the memo to buy my own lock. Also I am in the process of moving into a new place and no longer need my storage unit but its not available till after the first of the month. Public storage doesn't pro rate the rent! And didn't mention this in the beginning. So I have to pay full months rent for an extra few days. Never ever using public storage again! read more

For the three years I had a unit, the staff was cold and unaccommodating. The company was clearly more interested in nickel and diming its customers than providing any degree of customer service. Self storage is by definition a boring and Mundane business, but decent customer service should be expected. I highly recommend trying a nearby storage facility. read more

I've been here for more than 4 years. I'm really happy with the service. It's a little expensive, but it's close to home. The people in the office are great. They're very helpful and willing to do everything they can to meet my needs and answer my questions. They're nice and funny too. I like dealing with them. Reading the other reviews, I'm wondering who doesn't know that you need to bring your own lock to a storage unit? Prorated rent? When does that ever happen, anywhere? I was having some bad luck and I had some car trouble so I had to pull into the public storage parking lot. The girls in the office were so helpful! They helped me find a tow service and were so nice about the whole thing. I don't need storage right now but if I do I will definitely come back and see these girls! 5 stars mainly because of Natalie, the property manager that helped us out. She was professional, knowledgeable about the unit options, sensitive to our situation, and made sure we had all of our questions answered. She made our first storage experience seamless. My only gripe is the gate is only open until 9pm which makes it difficult on moving days, but at the same time makes the place more secure not being accessible 24 hours. read more

DO NOT RENT A SPOT HERE!!! I cannot say enough about how horrible the customer service is at this business establishment. If you are even ONE MONTH late, you will begin to receive harassing and threatening calls about how your items will be auctioned. And they will charge you late fees AND LIEN FEES, as well, something they do not mention when you move in. And even if you can pay your late month's rent, they will demand all late and lien fees or they will auction your property. In fact, if seems as though they WANT to sell your things. I felt like I was in a contract with the MAFIA. And when I moved out early after paying my month's fees already, they never prorated my month's rent. I moved out on July 12th, but they just kept that entire month's rent. NO ONE DOES THAT??? If you rent an apartment, you get the month prorated if you leave early. In addition, I'd paid my August rent ahead of time on my credit card and expected at least that returned asap. NOPE! They said they will refund it in 4 weeks via check!!! WTH??? They expect me to pay on time and ASAP or they threat to auction my items, but when I want my refund back asap, they say I need to wait 4 weeks and I get a check. Sorry, but you need to refund my credit card asap, I didn't pay you with a check and I KNOW for a fact, you wouldn't wait 4 WEEKS FOR MONEY!!!! This is the single worst business I have EVER come into contact with. Their business practices are beyond SHADY and illegal. DO NOT RENT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR BELOVED THINGS. This is the BEST Public Storage in Los Angeles. The location is great as its away from mass traffic, big property size, lots of unit size options and so easy to get in and out off and open extended hours. Also can store campers, cars, boats! Go see Karen and Angie. They are very helpful in navigating you through the property and showing you all your options. Not to mention they are always on the property to answer any questions. The first 30 days for a $1.00 only applies if you move in on the 1st. If you move in on the 15th of the month or any other day, you will then be expected to make a payment on the fist of the month. This is very confusing & can really mess up your financial planning with this "suprise" early expense. read more

This is an excellent Public Storage Location. the Manager Andie, did a great job getting us our new space and signing us up in 10 minutes or so. We have used PS before but this is the best one yet. Clean and easy to get to. read more

I've been with this storage facility for many years. In the past 2 years they've raised my rates multiple times per year to the point where I'm paying the price of a 5x10 but only getting a 5x5 unit. Online the rates are extremely lower for new customers so warning - you may get a deal initially and then they'll raise your rates beyond what they're charging new customers and keep charging more until you leave. In addition, if you don't vacate your unit by the 10th of the month they won't prorate your prepaid rent. They claim that this is because you're in a month to month contract and can vacate at any time. However, when I price shopped I found that all other places with better rates are also all month to month and have policies where they don't allow their current customers' rates to go over the going rate they're offering to new customers. That sounds like much better customer service and higher customer loyalty to me. I recommend StorQuest and Stor-It. They both have better customer loyalty policies than Public Storage and nicer, friendlier people in their facilities to help you. I will be choosing one of them and moving my stuff out of my current unit at Public Storage and won't look back. read more

I'd been with Public Storage for several years and began to notice that every 3-6 months of so, I began to receive rate increases. At first, I didn't pay too much attention because it was about $10-$20 and the base would go from around $160-$180. But now the rent keeps going up and up and up, and so I began to notice just why they make it so difficult to move -- no garbage bins, no dollies, etc. They only want you to buy a unit and then never leave -- while they keep jacking the rates. Sorry, Public Storage. I'll take a mom and pop facility over your national brand and deceptive practices. read more

MOLD ALERT: Sadly, a huge heads up that when we went to clear out our storage from here, our items were completely covered in MOLD. I contacted the manager, who returned my first call & asked for photos (which were sent). He acknowledged by phone that he was aware they had a mold issue in that building. From that point on, he returned neither my calls nor emails requesting follow up. There are too many other options out there. Don't go here. Horrible customer service & they clearly don't stand by their claims of Climate Control. read more

Location is not bad, but very expensive and the company will raise the rent every 6 months. Don't be fooled by first month rent offer. I am paying $60 more a month than couple years ago - that's = $720 more a year! Rip off. Trying a smaller storage place instead. Disappointed. read more

Several months ago I was calling different storage units for quotes. I was on a tight budget and wanted the best deal. I saw an advertisement for $1 for the first month and so I wanted more information over the phone before going in to sign up for a unit. I was sure this deal was too good to be true without a catch, so I asked the representative over the phone for more information and she kept repeating herself that she would give me more information in store, but I wanted to make sure I was getting a good deal and so I asked her again, if there were any additional fees and she told me NO. So after the run around, I finally made my way over to the unit. When I got there I was instantly disappointed because not only were there fees, but insurance was also mandatory MONTHLY. When I had brought it to their attention that I asked repeatedly over the phone if there would be any additional fees and they told me no, they didn't say much, they didn't make my welcome feel warm and right off the bat, I was frustrated because I had 2 cars full of stuff and at that point just signed up for the unit. Unfortunately I lost respect and my trust with the company and the two girls working there, I won't say any names because I didn't want to write this review in the first place but I feel that people should know for future references. I will never go back to public storage and am upset with the representatives who lied to me about the additional fees I had to pay. If I knew of the fees in the first place over the phone, I wouldn't have signed up with them. read more
