This is one of if not the cleanest storage unit I have ever seen. I would recommend this unit to the Pope! Eric the property manager was so very helpful. He made suggestions on ways to store items, how to pack and label boxes. He had all the items in stick and on hand, that I needed to complete my move. Boxes, tape, bubble wrap everything in a one stop shopping. I'm sure some of the items could have been purchased other places for less. I couldn't move out of storage unit by the first of the month because I was in the middle of moving to a new place by the 3rd of the month. I ended up paying so I didn't get a penalty fee. The manager didn't even care to give me a partial refund even though I moved out with in the first of the week. On top of that, there were dead bees in my storage unit upon move out. read more

I have posted about this previously but it seems my review is not here now. This place is run by CROOKS. My rate has increased nearly every 6 months and I am now paying over $300 a month. It's classic captured audience tactics. You move your stuff in and they raise the rent routinely. My exact unit is advertised for $177 a month online, yet I pay $310. To add insult, the District Manager Nicole reached out to me up on reading my first negative review and while I returned her call 3 times, she has yet to pick up. I moved into a space and then I realized it was too small I went directly back to the office to ask if I can transfer they said "sure you can transfer" but never told me I was going to lose the discount and the promotion that they had Liars even the general manager Ray who is now the district manager they know just how to say it to make it sound like you are the one that's wrong? I found myself back at the office of the Public Storage in East Hanover yesterday afternoon. I hadn't been in there ever since I found a space that I needed last summer and I was happy to see that Ed was still behind the counter. He was the manager that had found the space for me the first time, and now I needed something bigger. It took Ed just seconds to find something for me, and I'm happy to say, it didn't cost all that much more than my first space. I was surprised that I wasn't going to have to pay a whole lot more, and the whole process of switching from one space to another was made incredibly easy with Ed's invaluable assistance. I had the pleasure of dealing with Jasmine when I was in the market for a storage unit rental. She was so pleasant and helpful. She showed me a couple different sized units as options and I was very impressed with the cleanliness and accessibility of the facility. Jasmine explained all of the rental terms thoroughly, and answered all of my questions. Within minutes of entering I had everything taken care of, signed, paid, was given a contract and key, and was ready to begin storing my belongings. Having to pack things and move into storage is not always an easy task. But public storage in East Hanover, along with Jasmines professional assistance made what could be a difficult situation a very enjoyable experience. It's a nice unit and pretty accessible. That's the good stuff. Here's the truth behind this place. The pricing they advertise is a complete bait and switch scam. The $1 first month promo they offer is really close to $50 for the first month just to move in. The rental fee is $1, then they add on a $24 bs administrative fee, and then want you to pay $20 for one of their proprietary locks for your unit door which I'm sure I don't even get to keep. Add in sales tax, and your at just about $50. Should also mention that the actual units themselves don't have lights in them, you either have to bring your own flashlight or try to make use of the light eminating from the hallway. They try to get you to buy an insurance policy from them telling you that they won't be responsible if anything happens to your stuff while in their facility, but since I'm paying them and they are a business, they're supposed to have insurance... Hopefully I won't have to test this out... Even the guy who was checking me in more or less agreed with me that the whole move in fee structure is a scam... Bottom line, it is a nice modern place, but they are shady as hell with their pricing promos. Could probably find something for less money with fully disclosed upfront costs. read more

This facility is clean and organized. The Property Manager answered my storage questions competently and he was courteous and helpful.

The Public Storage call center in Arizona have the worst customer service. I called the toll free number I spoke to Maria I told her the issue she asked for the ID# on file I explained that I didn't have it with me she stated its nothing she can do without that number I gave her the account number she stated she cannot use that I asked what else can I give her she said nothing and then asked me why am I still on the phone then she hung up on me. I called back and got Kathleen on the phone I explained to her that the ID that I have on file is my passport but I didn't have it I sent it out to get renewed she said well when you get it call us back I asked is their someone else I can speak with I need to get in my unit the bill is paid but my code is not working she stated to me no one else can help me and hung up. I also reached out to the DM Nicole and left her a message this took place on 9/30/16 to this day 10/29/16 I never heard from her. Its crazy that not having the last 4 digits of your ID# means you cannot get any help from a customer service rep at public storage. read more
