The first interactions were superb! Eric was very prompt in responding to our reservation on the day requested. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in showing us the units and explaining the process. The location is great! Very close, easy access, yet tucked away from busy traffic. The secure gate is a nice addition to the clean property in securing the area. read more

Beware!!!! Bait and switch!!!! I rented a unit on Jan 19 2026 and 4 months later on April 28 I received a notice that my rate was increasing by 60% from $34 to $54 a month!!!!! I did not have an intro rate and they advised me that rates are subject to change at their whim. So now I have one month to move out. For a storage rental business they must understand this is hard for many people and that's exactly how they exploit their customers. Avoid this place!!!! It also has no heat or AC so anything you store could suffer from weather. And the carts are always missing. read more

I don't even want to give them one star. I'm filling out this form to hopefully win $500 to help make up for the damages the insurance company won't be giving me because vermin is not covered more than $250. MINUS $100 deductible. So you will pay $15 a month and won't even get the insurance money back from them. This storage facility had raccoons wreck havoc on my unit for two years. $2,500 wedding dress. Destroyed. Paintings, furniture, antiques. Destroyed. Raccoon feces and urine all over. Someone else's dog food bags brought over into my unit. (I don't own a dog) I am beyond heartbroken and beyond angry. At least $5,000 worth of damages and all I will be getting is $150. read more

The lighting was a little bit on the dark side, the ceiling was starting to sag and the polyester or the fiberglass was falling into the unit floor and there was no cart nearby to move my stuff down to the units but other than that the unit was clean there was a new lock provided, the walls and floor were clean and swept no complaints. I would give it 3 3/4 stars. read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE!! They are scam artists. In the contract it states they MUST inform you of rent increases but they don't. Then they lie and say they sent a letter but it came back. Total lie! Find any other place to keep your belongings! read more

Let me start by saying I've NEVER written a bad review about a company. Ever. We've been renting from various Public Storage facilities for years and never had a bad experience. Our average payments to them were about $300-$500 per month as business clients. We've moved to different facilities as our headquarters moved and they have always pro-rated our rent based upon our move out date. We've experienced this to be the norm. Based on this experience, we went to move out 1 day after our rental term ended at this facility, hired moving guys and a van, and they said we still have to pay the full month in both units. Called headquarters where we were told they changed this proration "courteously" in August 2017 but never informed their long term customers. We called the office and the district manager to be informed that Public Storage is essentially automated by computers. They can't change anything. Their responses were so automated and left us with the impression that the company is big enough to not need or care about your business. I own a business and can honestly say this is awful customer service and poor business planning. They'll make $450 off of us for one month and lose that consistent long term monthly revenue in the future. Gain for the company $450, loss per year $5400. It's a no-brainer. We've switched over to a more customer friendly, less corporate facility that is impeccably clean and values their customers. They have a wait list, which says a lot. Pros: Often have great move-in specials Cons: Rent goes up significantly every 6 months, cleanliness sub par, staff automated, don't seem to care about their client retention. read more

Very unhappy. This was the worst storage unit rental I ever experienced. It all started with a broken door. I could see it going as it was getting difficult to close and open. Spoke with the person in the office three times. Each time,I was told that he would arrange a repair. After months of complaining, it was never done. A snow storm hit and Public Storage not only plowed me in but plowed the snow through the door resulting in us not being able to get into our unit. After a few hours, with the help of the manager, we pried it open. Could not get it shut again. The manager then gave us a new storage unit (with a functioning door). It was snowing. The other unit was plowed in. So in the middle of another snow storm, I had to move the contents of a 10x20 storage unit be myself. The manager didn't offer to help. He just walked away. Although I didn't ask, they did nothing compensate me for the inconvenience or the hours I had to put in because they wouldn't fix their door in spite of my repeated requests. The property is inferior to other rental properties. The security gate is often left open meaning anyone could drive in as a code isn't needed. The security lights are often not working at all at night. The snow is barely plowed and when it is, you will be plowed in, so better bring a shovel in the winter. Many of the fire extinguisher compartments are missing the extinguisher. The fence surrounding the property doesn't have a metal pole supporting the top making it quite easy for a potential thief to scale it. This property does not have any video monitoring so if your unit is broken into, there is no video of the crime. This is a poorly run property. My review isn't a reflection on the Public Storage Corporation as they appear to have their act together. But, this particular property is poorly cared for and managed inefficiently. You would be well advised to look elsewhere. All of this is documented in the photos that are attached to this review. read more

First of all, the place floods and the elevator does not work. Second of all, they increase the price of the unit without informing you. Third, the property is not well-maintained and the cart for moving boxes is under lock and key so you cannot move in off hours. The unit manager is very unfriendly. Worst. Storage. Place. Ever. read more

I have been using Public Storage in Rockaway on and off for 6 years. It is inexpensive, clean, convenient and the entire staff is always helpful. I highly recommend it. read more

Automated and efficient sign up you don't even have to go to the office you pretty much can do it all online which is a great benefit. Availability can be tight in some locations but they just recently updated the Rockaway location and it looks really good. I think prices can be a little more competitive but I think overall that's just how much junk people have in the world. Rockaway could use more external open parking spaces to rent for people who have trailers but other than that it's good it's convenient and automated for entry and exit. Extended hours would be even better like 24 seven. read more

If I could give negative stars, it still would still be too many. Advertised as an up-to-date, clean facility, this place is a dump. Being from out of town, we rented an inside unit based on the adverts, without seeing it first. BIG MISTAKE! I understand it is not climate controlled, but the mold and mildew smell made us leave the place in a few minutes even though we were wearing N95 masks. It was horrible. We could see where the water was leaching through the bare concrete walls in the unit. We never moved in, and now there is apparently nobody in the entire company who is responsible for getting us a refund. Property manager is powerless and customer support literally told me there was nobody they could escalate to. Pitiful!! I highly recommend finding a better facility who stands by their word. read more

Christina at the Public Storage facility in Rancho Cucamonga, on Arrow Route was AWESOME! She was very professorial and assisted me in reserving two storage spaces. Christina was very patient with me; and I noticed how patient she was when other customers came while she was assisting me. I highly recommend Public Storage, especially working with Christina. Thanks so very much for all your assistance. read more

I was very impressed with my experience at this Public Storage facility. Mike helped me out with the entire process and was very professional and courteous. Even though I have couple months left before I decide to empty the unit, I feel as though my experience would be as good at the end as it has been in the beginning. Definitely recommend this facility! read more

The employees behind the counter are very nice and will take care of you. They try to help you with the limited power that they are given. Ed is a stand up guy and takes a lot of pride in his job. Very clean, great staff. I enjoyed my year of storage, I had an indoor unit and never had any issues. The only thing I would like to see is better lighting, it was dark sometimes than I would like. But, always clean and beautifully kept. read more

Terrible customer service relations. Dawn, the manager, has become aggressive over the phone with me on multiple occasions: First, when Public Storage spontaneously increased my monthly rent after a few months. I called Dawn, who pointed to the contract which is month to month, and hung up on me. Second, after moving out I left the lock (which was provided used from Public Storage) on my unit. I can no longer return to the site and have been threatened by Dawn's staff that I will be charged continuously every month until it is removed. I would never recommend this company to anyone, ever. It has been a horrible experience, with deceptively low rates that they jack up after several months, and customer service that hangs up on you when you have issues. read more

We needed a storage facility on very short notice. I found this location on my cell phone and liked the first month offer. My husband and I rented today and have to say that Eric was a pleasure to work with and made it a fast and easy transaction. Very Reliable, smart, easy to understand and well versed in the business model. I highly recommend them.

Everyone who works at this location is extremely helpful! Eric was always there to assist me with anything I needed, including jumped my car and gave me some helpful tips on how to help my truck run better. I never felt like I was bothering anyone there because they were always genuine and kind. I will recommend this location to everyone and if I ever need a storage unit again, this is the place I will go to! read more

Unfortunately there is no 0 stars option for this. The person working there as well as location manager Dawn were very rude and totally unprofessional. I made my reservation in the morning for parking place for a trailer and when speaking with the customer representative on the phone she just told me to bring photo ID with reservation email confirmation. In the email it says the same. I show up at the location that same day around 4 PM and here is the guy dismissing me right away telling me he will not take me in without registration card for the trailer which I did not have on me because I towed the trailer with a different car and not the one I normally tow the trailer with because that pick up truck I left at the shop for repair and all my trailer documentation is there. This guy would not even consider any other option or alternative even though I said I can give him the Insurance card right away because I had that from the car but for trailer registration I only have electronic version of it on my phone which I could email to him to print out and scan and include in the documentation until I bring the actual registration card the next day. No, he didn't want to even listen and was very unprofessional and showed 0 respect or willingness to help. So I got back in my car and called customer service, then spoke to the manager or that customer service then asked for contact info of the district manager. I got in touch with the district manager and explained the situation. She said she will try to help and will contact him directly and she is ok with me completing the rental process by providing what I have and leaving the trailer there and to come back the next day and bring actual registration card. So she told him that and he was just about to go and show me the parking spot and then started complaining again when I said I don't have actual registration card on me. He said then he cant do anything. Can you believe this?! Even after I already spoke to District Manager and she spoke to him and told him to enter registration card info manually. He was just determined to be like this and give me a hard time. But I didn't let it go, I said cal her again and see what she will tell you. She repeated the same. Obviously he was either to dumb to comprehend or just wanted to be an a** hole...i think both. So he did what I originally asked him to do and what district manager provided approval for and he wrote reg card info on the paper by hand and scanned that and system took it without any problems. It is asking for a scanned copy and it would even take a blank scanned paper and doesn't care what scanned doc you provide because it does not do any kind of live validation of the scanned document uploaded. He didn't even try, never rented a parking lot before, only storage units, doesn't know how trailer insurance works and that it is covered under the vehicle pulling it, doesn't know how their new system works because he told me they got new system and is not sure if it will take it or not but immediately he dismisses me and didn't even want to cooperate until I actually got in touch with district manager and then he started working with me. At the end I left the trailer got all my access information but had to work much harder to get what I should've received in less than 5 minutes. He just made it much harder for me but I proved him wrong at the end. If anyone told me I had to bring that then i would understand, but they never mentioned that to me, it doesn't say in the email and reservation confirmation I received, so at least what they can do is work with me because of this, no instead he did totally opposite. He doesn't even know the process, he is like they don't know that it is parking spot so they didn't tell you or they did t know. Are you kidding me??! It clearly says in the email "10x15" parking lot and what else can i be doing there but park some type of vehicle and I specifically told them that when I was making the reservation on what I need it for. I will write a complaint against that guy at this location and will take this much further until he is booted from there. No body, especially no customer should be treated like I was. And he also had the nerve when he was speaking to the district manager to say that I was aggressive and disrespectful. What a lier, he actually described himself, and even if I was but i was not, he should be professional and know how to deal with the customer in that situation. If he was so firm in his beliefs that system would not allow him to do what he did without even trying, how come then I was able to get what I was entitled to. Some people are just so stubborn and stupid and never want to listen to hear what people have to say. Instead they want to play a big shot and at the end always end up looking like complete idiots and fools. read more

Great staff. Dawn is so helpful & went out of her way to accommodate my unique storage needs.

My girlfriend and I moved here from California and needed a place to store some of our belongings, it was a last minute notice we gave (about 15 minutes before they closed) Eric accommodated us without any worries. Really and truly I cannot say enough great things about the professionalism we received from him, we got back in our car, I looked at my girlfriend and said, "that guy is fricken great, and that is how you run a damn business." no kidding. Anyways, he showed us the facilities which were dry, clean, and secure, which was very nice considering it was pouring rain outside. Everything was to the point, straight forward and upfront, no hidden little fees or anything, if you're worried about that, don't be. Everything was done very quickly and we had our Locker! I am very happy, and lucky that we found this place and had Eric to work with! read more

Vacated a unit today on the third day of the month. I am being billed for the entire month which does not seem fair - the bill should be pro-rated.To make matters worse, there were no carts to haul the stuff out on so I had to make multiple trips carrying things out manually. I rented a unit in a "climate controlled" area, but it is colder in there than it is outside. I will say that staff there has always been friendly and courteous. It's not their fault the company has bad policies and not enough equipment. read more

After I moved in I found out their front gate was broken and they had no security on site. Before I moved out I called and asked what the procedure was to move out. All they told me was I have to give 48hrs notice. Which I did but when I moved out on the 6th I was told I couldn't get a refund for the rest of the month. They then told me I had to notify them before the beginning of the last month in order to get a refund. I have repeatedly called corporate about this and they keep giving me the brush off. I have called the manager of the site and she never returns my calls. I have tried twice to contact them by email and their site is always down. I would highly recommend using someone else. read more

Very pleased again by the website, personnel and facility. Searched for a small unit (my second time here), got an immediate phone call, and an appointment to see the unit the next day. Agree with other feedback, automated customer service equals AVOID this company. My unit agreement started Aug 10. They have you pay for a full month and then prorate the next month to get contracts to align with month end. Written on my contract envelop was "next payment due Sept 9". I tried to log on my account on Sept 9 and couldn't. Opened a ticket as a guest with the "contact Public storage" button. Got no response so next day I called them and got my account access issue fixed and paid in full. Regardless, Public storage charged me $20 late fee. They argued that my payment was due Sept 1 and there is a 6 day grace period. They gave 0 credence to my contract envelop note of Sept and zero credence to my trying to open a help ticket with them and zero credence to my paying in full Sept 10. I then found out their crooked pressing people to buy insurance from them is a crock as most home insurance covers this so I cancelled insurance Sept 12. This means they owe me for the prorated balance of unused insurance I had paid for on Sept 10. They won't even acknowledge the insurance is paid for even though the receipt I have shows it. I opened a BBB complaint as I refuse to pay the $20 late fee and I am owed insurance money back. I have still paid in full for October by paying on Sept 27 which resulted in a receipt showing no past due amount but listing the $20 late fee as additional amount due Oct 1. Since that is in dispute, I have not paid it. Sure enough, now Public Storage has added another $20 late fee in October even though I am paid in full for the rental fee thru Nov 1!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! All the billing is mindless automated programs with no overrides to apply common sense and nobody at corporate with the brains to even rub two nickels together let alone read their own payment receipts correctly! Also, avoid their insurance SCAM as most of you do NOT need to buy insurance from them. Check with your home insurance. They are probably making millions on this insurance sales! read more
