    This was several days after a large storm.  They did not clear access doors to the inner storage units for days.

    Very unhappy. This was the worst storage unit rental I ever experienced. It all started with a broken door. I could see it going as it was getting difficult to close and open. Spoke with the person in the office three times. Each time,I was told that he would arrange a repair. After months of complaining, it was never done. A snow storm hit and Public Storage not only plowed me in but plowed the snow through the door resulting in us not being able to get into our unit. After a few hours, with the help of the manager, we pried it open. Could not get it shut again. The manager then gave us a new storage unit (with a functioning door). It was snowing. The other unit was plowed in. So in the middle of another snow storm, I had to move the contents of a 10x20 storage unit be myself. The manager didn't offer to help. He just walked away. Although I didn't ask, they did nothing compensate me for the inconvenience or the hours I had to put in because they wouldn't fix their door in spite of my repeated requests. The property is inferior to other rental properties. The security gate is often left open meaning anyone could drive in as a code isn't needed. The security lights are often not working at all at night. The snow is barely plowed and when it is, you will be plowed in, so better bring a shovel in the winter. Many of the fire extinguisher compartments are missing the extinguisher. The fence surrounding the property doesn't have a metal pole supporting the top making it quite easy for a potential thief to scale it. This property does not have any video monitoring so if your unit is broken into, there is no video of the crime. This is a poorly run property. My review isn't a reflection on the Public Storage Corporation as they appear to have their act together. But, this particular property is poorly cared for and managed inefficiently. You would be well advised to look elsewhere. All of this is documented in the photos that are attached to this review.

Don't be fooled, their entire business model is built off of deception. They got me in the door during a big move where I downsized. Filled a 10x10 to the brim and on my third month was told that "due to low supply of 10x10 units the price was going from $67 to $136 due to market demand." I kindly asked if it was normal to have 203% increase on the rate and was told to refer to page 15 of the contract I signed in which they can change the rate at any time. Asked for them to email me a copy for review and found that verb-age nowhere to be found. During my next trip to my unit I asked a few other customers I ran into and heard the same thing.. one guy told me very angrily that he'd been a customer for almost 10 years and they do that every 3-6 months with the same excuse. Would not recommend unless you're prepared to be bamboozled right when you're comfortable with your decision.

I…read morehave been paying for a 10x10 climate controlled unit to store my belongings for the last 12 years. Not only has the rent gone up between $30-$80 a month the last 12 years, when I went to the facility to retrieve something I found about 2/3 of my belongings covered in mold (pretty much everything that wasn't stored in plastic containers) The girl in the office that day (she was very nice, I will say that) took some photos and filed an incident report. The manager then called me the following Monday and basically informed me that CubeSmart is not responsible for damaged property, to contact the insurance. After a week of back and forth with the insurance company (Great American, which was the company CubeSmart suggested when we began our rental in 2012) they claim that the policy doesn't cover any type of water damage. So I am basically screwed out of 12 years of payments (I started at $95 in 2012 and up until I termed my rental this week, I was paying $442 a month. Do the math, it's over 5k, and that's just for this year!) as well as the cost for all of my furniture and other ruined items I had to throw away. I could have just stored my belongings in my garage and ruined them for free. There is definitely a damp musty feeling in the building that claims to be "climate controlled" as well as mildew forming on the outer locks on multiple units near mine, as the pictures below show. I had brought this to the attention of an employee a few years back but she claimed the moisture was from the carpets being cleaned and the mold was "just dust". The carpets have since been removed, if it was because of a mold issue, we were never informed.
