Not only has the rent gone up between $30-$80 a month the last 12 years, when I went to the facility to retrieve something I found about 2/3 of my belongings covered in mold (pretty much everything that wasn't stored in plastic containers) The girl in the office that day (she was very nice, I will say that) took some photos and filed an incident report. The manager then called me the following Monday and basically informed me that CubeSmart is not responsible for damaged property, to contact the insurance. After a week of back and forth with the insurance company (Great American, which was the company CubeSmart suggested when we began our rental in 2012) they claim that the policy doesn't cover any type of water damage. So I am basically screwed out of 12 years of payments (I started at $95 in 2012 and up until I termed my rental this week, I was paying $442 a month. Do the math, it's over 5k, and that's just for this year!) as well as the cost for all of my furniture and other ruined items I had to throw away. I could have just stored my belongings in my garage and ruined them for free. There is definitely a damp musty feeling in the building that claims to be "climate controlled" as well as mildew forming on the outer locks on multiple units near mine, as the pictures below show. I had brought this to the attention of an employee a few years back but she claimed the moisture was from the carpets being cleaned and the mold was "just dust". The carpets have since been removed, if it was because of a mold issue, we were never informed.

I did not have an intro rate and they advised me that rates are subject to change at their whim. So now I have one month to move out. For a storage rental business they must understand this is hard for many people and that's exactly how they exploit their customers. Avoid this place!!!! It also has no heat or AC so anything you store could suffer from weather. And the carts are always missing.

MINUS $100 deductible. So you will pay $15 a month and won't even get the insurance money back from them. This storage facility had raccoons wreck havoc on my unit for two years. $2,500 wedding dress. Destroyed. Paintings, furniture, antiques. Destroyed. Raccoon feces and urine all over. Someone else's dog food bags brought over into my unit. (I don't own a dog) I am beyond heartbroken and beyond angry. At least $5,000 worth of damages and all I will be getting is $150.

The first time, 10 years ago, I did a lot of comparisons before choosing Peers. After that experience I never looked elsewhere but was just thankful that they were still in business and still the same well run company that I remembered. The move was a little complicated by half of my belongings having to be packed and shipped to my son in Philly and the other half following me to Livingston,NJ. A couple of smaller boxes ended with me by error. A larger painting got picked up by Peers and transported down with the other furniture. (The smaller boxes I didn't find until later and I can drive down.) I chose not to take insurance on the move and they never broke anything!!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Peers! I rarely write reviews unless an experience is remarkable one way or the other. Peers Moving and Storage will make your move as easy as possible.

Kevin and Brenden were there to help load the truck and go on to another job after that. They were both very courteous and careful with our possessions.
