While we have had good experiences with Doug's Rug before, our most recent installation has been nothing but frustrating. The caret pad we specified and were quoted was replaced with a lower grade pad with a less comprehensive warranty. Within 3 months of installation the seams are showing and edges of the carpet that interface with other flooring are failing. We have called multiple times to have Doug's come out to inspect and repair. They do not return calls and when we do reach them they give vague promises to schedule a visit. Over 5 months later nothing. This is in stark contrast to the irritating persistence of the woman who runs the showroom , schedules and collects payment. In our opinion, she is unrelenting and irritating when collecting money during the deposit and installation, and unreachable when there is a problem. After multiple broken promises to fix the issues we've experienced, we recently visited the showroom in Flanders. The state of the store says everything. It is a catastrophe. Messy, unwelcoming and dirty with the woman mentioned before ensconced at a messy desk in the rear not even deigning to greet a customer walking through the front door, but rather staring with an irritated "why are you bothering me" look until we engaged her. Even the face to face promise made to fix remains broken a month later. No follow up, nothing At this time we recommend avoiding Doug's Rugs at all costs. This is a huge disappointment as we strive to support small local businesses whenever we have a choice. read more

Nancy, the owner, suggested we choose a different product, which we did. They replaced the floor with the new product, and it's working out great. We got rugs installed in our house in mid 2018. What first looked like a good job turned out to be a disaster. About six months after the installation, the rugs started to stretch and come up in every room. I called to have a technician come out to see if they can fix the stretching. Ultimately no one ever came. I want to say I've called probably 20-30 times in the past year and a half to get a resolution, and I've been nothing but disrespected by the person handling the phones. She was very rude and insulting, and accused me of not calling. We recently had a baby and were told someone would be out before July 2020 so the rugs were fixed before our baby came, but of course no call no show. I would never recommend the service. The people are simply rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional, specifically Nancy, who handles appointments. I'm sure the people doing the installs are fine, but this experience has been nothing short of miserable, and my rugs look like a bumpy road. Dear Nancy, I cannot believe you would hang up on me! We have been more than patient with you and Doug's Rugs. Our carpet was installed in January, and it is now mid-July, and still the job is not completed. Every time we ask, you claim "it will be done by this Friday", just enough to get us off the phone, or out of your shop. This in now completely ridiculous, MONTHS have passed, we have heard the same lame promises, and absolutely no follow-up. Our landlord had recommended you, and we've even had him follow-up to try to get the job done, but to no avail. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. Shame on you! I have had a very bad experience in having this company fix some installation problems. The first one was that the installer showed up without the strips that go at the edge of the tiles - the installer blamed the owner - the owner blamed the installer - one month later (after I got fairly upset) the installer fixed it. While he was here I pointed out that 2 of the vinyl tiles had popped up. He said to wait a few weeks which I did. I have now been calling for about 2 months to have them fix it. They keep telling me they will but have never scheduled the installer to fix. I was told last week that they would fix it either today (5/21) or tomorrow. So I rearranged my schedule so that I would be available for the early appointment they promised. The installer has not shown up and when calling the office I found out they hadn't even scheduled the repair and never let me know. I did get upset and asked why they hadn't let me know- they then hung up on me. My experience is that everything goes correctly the first time and they get their money it's OK.
