The caret pad we specified and were quoted was replaced with a lower grade pad with a less comprehensive warranty. Within 3 months of installation the seams are showing and edges of the carpet that interface with other flooring are failing. We have called multiple times to have Doug's come out to inspect and repair. They do not return calls and when we do reach them they give vague promises to schedule a visit. Over 5 months later nothing. This is in stark contrast to the irritating persistence of the woman who runs the showroom , schedules and collects payment. In our opinion, she is unrelenting and irritating when collecting money during the deposit and installation, and unreachable when there is a problem. After multiple broken promises to fix the issues we've experienced, we recently visited the showroom in Flanders. The state of the store says everything. It is a catastrophe. Messy, unwelcoming and dirty with the woman mentioned before ensconced at a messy desk in the rear not even deigning to greet a customer walking through the front door, but rather staring with an irritated "why are you bothering me" look until we engaged her. Even the face to face promise made to fix remains broken a month later. No follow up, nothing At this time we recommend avoiding Doug's Rugs at all costs. This is a huge disappointment as we strive to support small local businesses whenever we have a choice.

Salespeople don't know the product well enough to recommend or suggest what else we need in addition to the planks we ordered (i.e. underlayment, transition pieces, etc.) When I tried to return unused product, the guy working there said he didn't know how to process a return and that I would need to come back. I live 35 minutes away. If the staff doesn't know how to process a simple transaction, the question is either why are you even open, or why is he even employed? When I eventually got back to return my unnecessary items, they claimed that since I had a "special order", I couldn't return the item and second, since it was 29 days after I picked up the item, they wouldn't take back the item. The sales slip didn't indicate anything being a special order nor did it state the return policy. My hope it that Home Depot puts this dump out of business.

Although we had purchased insurance for the sofas, we were told that material failure was not included under the policy. Berks then suggested that we falsely claim the damage was caused by our pet. This means Berks knowingly sold discontinued merchandise, refused to stand behind the products they sell, and even encouraged us to be dishonest.
