I use the 5x10 storage unit. There's enough space for a studio or 1 bedroom apartment. The unit was clean. The building and the units stay cool because it's air-conditioned. There's a dolly or 2 located in the building to help you transfer your items. The female staff member that I met at the front office was very friendly and understanding. She answered my questions and communicated very well in person and over the phone. Entry and exit are one way, so they have an arrow leading you in the right direction. You need to download and use their app for entry and exit, plus for entry into the storage building. The app is pretty easy to use as long as you're in the appropriate range. The price of the units are cheaper than the surrounding area, and they had more available at the time. They also offered a deal when renting a new unit. *I've used Public Storage a few times at multiple locations and the quality and service are consistent. read more

The office is always locked and closed with no onsite representatives available to discuss your account or to make payments. They overcharged my account, and when I brought it to the manager's attention, she disregarded my request for an explanation. She told me that she was going to credit my account on one occasion but failed to do so and when I called to follow up, again no response or returned phone call. Be cautious of Public Storage and their rental rate practices. Local facility management is typically supportive of your needs to establish agreements, space and monthly maintenance, etc. However, in the one year I've been renting space, they have raised my rate by 40%. The first increase occurred after 6 months, at which time I inquired to the purpose and what to expect in the following months. After a few inquiries, I never received a reply. After a year of being a good client with auto-pay...I'm now planning to vacate the space. For those searching for public storage, you can expect the following from this company: 1. "The Hook" Public Storage will promote the first month free or first two months at half price. It makes the rates sound appealing and comparable to other companies. 2. They will require a one-time administration fee, required locks and offer insurance too. You can provide your own insurance, but will be required at the time of signing your agreement. Otherwise they will charge insurance on your first month's invoice, or until you provide proof of insurance. Same goes for the required lock. 3. The only item that's consistent in their "rate increase" practice, is to expect an increase every 6 months. There's no rhyme or reason for the level of increase. Probably as much as their customers will tolerate until they get priced out and then vacate the space. It's unfortunate Public Storage has zero interest in "customer retention" practices by rewarding them with market level (competitive) rates, and the purpose of any rate increase. They rather choose to "churn and burn" through customers every 6 to 12 months. Just another greedy company looking to maximize revenues and profits. Very sad! read more

The storage is in an excellent location for accessing all locations in the Sacramento East Side. It is one block off of Greenback and one block off Sunrise in Citrus Heights. It is good for going to Roseville, Granite Bay, and Folsom. It is a good thight building with no leaks. Her friendly demeanor and patience/knowledge made my family and I feel certain the this location was the best place for us to store my items until this move is complete. DON'T BELIEVE THESE OTHER POSTS. This place is HORRIBLE!!! They will charge extreme late fees and cut your locks off a day after you're late ($80 for 3 weeks behind). Then when you go to put new locks on you need "premium locks" aka $20 per lock type locks that you can buy from them for $25. They only care about money and will make you pay dearly. Oh and only the account holder can talk to them, nobody else, even if you give Raynell money personally and she knows you she wont discuss the account. This review is overdue. Raenell goes above and beyond what I would expect. I have stored my stuff at this location twice when I was in transition. Raenell walked me through my rental agreement, insurance options and the rules and helped me make decisions about what size boxes I would need to repack my unit to prepare for a long haul move. She also helped me get the best deal. I have moved 3X in the last two years both which is too much transition for anyone but Raenell helped smooth things over by providing great customer service and being an absolute sweetheart. Service was fast, friendly and professional when I rented my space. Unit was inside, this was a big plus as there was a lot of electronic gear that needed protection from moisture. No Problems during the months I had stuff stored there. Ability to pay on-line a huge plus! When I went back to move stuff out, I had paid in advance for the coming month, but was out by the 4th. I was quickly credited the month and only had to pay for the first 4 days! After looking at different types of storage facilities I came back to Public Storage in Citrus Heights. The manager, Raynelle, showed me several options to meet my needs. The facility is clean, has good lighting and is easily accessible. As manager, Raynelle, made sure I understood all the rules and regulations. Swiftly and efficiently processed paperwork. Great experience here. Raenell was so kind and helpful. She even tracked me down when I accidentally locked the unit in the open position! I did have a couple of months when I was late with the payment but did not have an issue with the lock being cut off. I received a courtesy call with a reminder and was told I wouldn't be charged a late fee until a certain date. If I recall correctly it was somewhere around the 9th to 11th of the month but don't quote me, look at your contract!! :) I only mention because I see that someone reported quite a different experience. I needed a small unit for my antiques as my garage was too full. Raenell was very helpful. I rented it for about 6 months and paid by EFT from my bank. The EFT was sent to Public Storage by my bank on 12/1. On 12/7 I was able to transfer my antiques and vacated the storage unit. It was a last minute thing and I was under the impression that I did not need to "give notice". I would have been credited, or due a refund for the remainder of the month, 24 days Raenell (who is very nice, by the way) said she would have talk to "my boss". A few days later she said that "the boss" said that since I paid by check, it was not refundable. How can that be logical. If they were paid by check, all they have to do is write me a refund check in turn. The bank said this logic is rediculous. I will try with the Sr. District Manager and if no results, I will Call Curtis and also let the bank go after them. read more
