I immediately brought this to the attention of the staff on site. I THOUGHT they would be concerned and appreciative, not only for THEIR customers, but also for their own safety. The response I received was "Did that bother you?!" I was so shocked and taken aback. Of COURSE a group of loitering sketchy people are of concern! ANYWHERE! Hello?!?! Why wouldn't they INQUIRE as to the reason this group was "hanging out" on their property? Maybe they were friends of the office people? Regardless, the staff turning my concern onto ME spoke volumes. If you are looking for a SAFE unit for your property...and YOURSELF whilst you are attempting to "visit" your unit, "EXTRA SPACE STORAGE" on Parkshore Drive in Folsom is NOT THE PLACE! I am quickly moving my items OUT to another place that actually cares about the safety concerns of their customers. I hope the OWNERS see this review, as their on-site "management" clearly needs to be replaced. As a female visiting alone today, I was (and still AM) definitely concerned about the RUDE and unprofessional response that I received. In May 2023, I received a notice that my rent was increasing to $238 per month, a 51% increase! I called the manager, David, to inquire about the increase. He said that they routinely review market rents and have the ability to reset them at any time to reflect inflation. I asked him if inflation had gone up 51% in the past 5 months and he said yes. I then went on their website and saw that they had units available for less than the $158 per month rate I was paying. After asking about switching units, David said that we could not switch to one of those units because that pricing was reserved for new customers only. He also noted that those units would almost surely see a huge price increase within just a few months of moving in. This seems like the definition of a bait and switch tactic. They lured me in with a low price, then jacked up the rent after I signed the contract. And nowhere in the contract did it say anything about us getting a promotional rate that would reset after just a few months. I decided to move out of Extra Space Storage after the price increase. The move out was a lot of work, wasted time, and headache. But we weren't going to pay $238 per month, and we also were not going to stay just based on principle. I hope others can learn from my bad experience.

I'm so…read moreimpressed with the customer service and facility of Leave It to Us Self Storage (LITUSS) which is why I'm writing a review. Moving is very stressful but when you work with a company that cares it makes a huge difference! I was moving my Mom from Marysville to Shingle Springs where I live and work so we did a one way truck rental with it being dropped off at LITUSS since she had rented a storage unit there. This involved two loads/trips because the largest truck I could get down my driveway was 15' and my Mom had more things than we predicted. It was a long tiring day and when it came time to drop the first load off at LITUSS I realized I was a little confused about the app since it was new and I also had a billing question so I called LITUSS at almost 5pm on a Saturday. Molly answered the phone and to summarize, she helped with all my questions and made sure that all our questions were answered and if there was any issue she wanted to know so she could fix it. We didn't get done and back to storage with the 2nd load until almost 130am which I didn't check ahead about access hours so we couldn't get in. The Uhaul was due back at 8am but we wouldnt have it unloaded and dropped off until 10AM. I called Molly at 7AM on a Sunday and again, she answered. I was overwhelmed and concerned about the consequences for being late and she made me feel so much better by listening and caring and letting me bring the truck back by 10am. If you need storage please use LITUSS. The facility and units are beautiful and so clean! Even the floors of the unit are so clean that you don't need to lay down any covering to protect your items. Not to mention if you end up wanting to sell some of them they offer a "garage/yard sale" type option right there at the facility. Oh, and their prices are the best in the area especially for what you get. Their Noke security system for entry/exit is so impressive and all done on an app. This may be the longest review I've ever written but my hope is people read it and use LITTUS for their storage needs as they will be absolutely taken care of and the value of service/facility far exceeds the more than fair cost.
