Would give negative stars if possible. Also, based on the experiences of others and from reading other yelp reviews, I would avoid the entire public storage franchise. Long story short, my unit was burglarized and I was only informed weeks later when their *MONTHLY* audit of the units found that there wasn't a lock on my unit. When I was finally able to inspect thigns, I found that most of the boxes had been opened, all of my mom's jewlery was gone, and an old mac that was of no particular resale value, but contained irreplacable data (digital artworkt that my father did) had been taken. Basically, these people do not give a flying fuck about your stuff. They do not even close the doors to the storage facilities after hours. I know because I have seen it first hand. Yes, there is a gate. Any reasonably fit person could climb over it. They don't lock the doors to the actual building where your stuff is kept. I was told that I could file a police report, and file an insurance claim. Right. Nevermind that some thigns are irreplacable. Nevermind that there's no point in filing a police report weeks after the fact, when they can't even tell me when my unit was burglarized. Nevermind that they can't provide security camera footage, because they don't even have internal security cameras. Let me repeat that: They don't even have internal security cameras, so there's no way to know who took my stuff. Would it be that hard to install security cameras? Would it be that hard to do a daily inspection of the units? Would it be that hard to LOCK THE FUCKING DOORS AT NIGHT? Basically this franchise has decided that it's cheaper to pay insurance claims than to provide even a modicum of security. Other complaints: the office is frequently locked during normal business hours. Never mind if you have to use the toilet or need one of their moving dollies. These people don't give a shit about you or your stuff. They just want your money. Go down the street to Extra Space where the proprietors actually seem to care. read more

I wish I could give Public Storage negative stars... I dont even know where to start. You would think a company as big and well known as Public Storage would treat their customers with a little more respect. I've used Public Storage off and on over the last ten years and have always paid my OUTRAGEOUSLY high bill on time. Last September I moved out of my house and decided to put EVERYTHING into storage while I rented a room and looked for a new home. So, when I finally found a place to live I was more than excited to move all of my things out of storage. When I showed up to move my things, imagine my surprise to find a lock on my unit that I had never seen and definitely not placed on the unit myself. I went to the front desk to ask them if they had by chance put a lock on my unit, and the man coldly replied, "No" before I even told him what unit I was referring to. At this point I became more frustrated and asked him how there would be a lock on MY unit that I didnt put there and now I was unable to get to my things.... He simply told me that I should "rent bolt cutters," and that I had his "permission to remove the lock." PERMISSION?! Of course I do, its MY UNIT with MY THINGS! I was appalled that a storage facility, that deals with locks all day long, wouldnt have a pair of bolt cutters on the premises for situations like this. After a few minutes of arguing, we left to get our own bolt cutters while the man sat calmly and worry free behind his desk. He showed absolutely no concern about my situation. Upon returning with bolt cutters we found that my entire unit had been emptied of its contents... Someone had cut my lock my off, then put their own lock on the unit so they could come and go as they pleased and take their time emptying my unit of my possessions that I have accumulated over my whole life. Pictures, christmas ornaments, shoes, kitchen and bathroom supplies, tools, books, dvds, my TV, electronics, etc. Of course this is not an easy scenario to deal with for anyone, and I was undoubtedly hurt and angry at the same time. My first thought was to catch the people who did it, and at the very least get back the things that could never be replaced like pictures and ornaments, something no one else could possibly want anyways. I asked them how they planned to help me and could we please review the cameras. The two apathetic employees simply suggested I call the insurance company and file a claim. They then shared with me the wonderful news that the cameras inside of the facility were not hooked up and it would be impossible to review all of the gate footage. As I sat and cried and waited for the police to come so I could file a report, they continued to help new unsuspecting customers and completely ignored me, never even expressing an apology for my losses. You would think, employees who work at a company that stores the precious items of many individuals would be at least socially able to handle such situations with class and dignity. The person or people who broke into my unit had to have the following information: an access code to enter the gate, the knowledge that the cameras dont work, and another lock to put on my unit (which had a public storage sticker on it, indicating it was purchased at Public Storage). So they are either other customers at the facility, or GASP, their very own employees. Think long and hard before you decide to store ANYTHING with any value, sentimental or monetary, at a Public Storage facility. read more

Reality.DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the worst storage facility I have ever used. My unit was burglarized after I started moving my things out. They pried the door to the side and rolled the door up even though it was locked. Luckily I had insurance and only lost a new washer and dryer. They say the front gate surveillance camera was stolen at the same time. Yea Fn right! I have used numerous storage units and never had items stolen. This place is grossly mismanaged. Meth heads everywhere. No Security, No Internal Cameras, and Corrupt staff. Yes corrupt owners and staff. If you allow this shit to happen your corrupt or selling the crap on craigslist. Get ready to talk to someone from corporate. read more

I took advantage of their classic "$1 moves you in" offer because I needed a large sorting space during a major move. They honored their rates for the two months I was there, with a little growling because two months plus admin fee meant maximum work for minimum profit. The security on this property leaves a lot to be desired. The front gate is not very well monitored. However, the enormous interior parking lot made using a trailer quick and easy and the cost was right. I would not consider this property for long-term storage but it was adequate for my needs at the time. read more

This place is unbelievably awful. But I have to store my stuff so I'm stuck. It's filthy, broken glass is often scattered in the parking areas, dogs urinate in the hallways and no one cleans it, cigarette butts are everywhere in the INDOOR areas. I could go on and on. And I bet they will raise my rent AGAIN!!! Can't wait to be in a position to move my stuff out of there. Unbelieveable is the only description you need for the manager of this place. I only needed a paking spot for a couple months. We paid up on line and now they won't accept the cancellation we submitted back in July. The "manager" Kim insists on "in-person" notification only. This is 2012 right? Rather than using there facility to store your belongings, I'd recomend giving everthing away and starting fresh. At least you'd save yourself the fustration of meeting Kim. HOLY COW read more

Just like Crystal below, I was a victim of theft from this public storage. I moved almost all my possessions into a small unit close to the office. When I signed up, I was told I had to get insurance from their insurance provider. I asked if I could sign up through my own insurance provider and was told no. Then about. 7 months later, I received a call from the office asking if I had been to my storage unit recently. I had not. Someone had cut my lock, then put on another one only half-way. And that's the only reason I even got a call, cause they noticed the unlocked lock. Thankfully the thieves didn't take everything... Only about $3500 worth of electronics and work gear. Unfortunately, even after I provided their insurance company w/ every receipt for every item taken. I recouped only $620 of that When the police showed up, so I could file a report, the officer informed me that this public storage is constantly being broken into. That Campbell police have repeatedly told them they need to fix their broken security cameras and put up more. The office manager was really sweet, found out she had only been working there for a month or two. And she also informed me that she also has been asking for more security and cameras. After everything, coincidently I read a news article online that did a little exposé on this particular storage, and found out that they have had over 75 break-ins since they opened!! Needless to say, I wish I had done my homework. WISH I COULD GIVE NO STARS!!!! DO NOT STORE ANYTHING HERE!!!! read more

Zero Stars!!! Unethical business practices and price gouging at their finest! First of all $1 for first month is not the price, you will pay a $24 admin fee, which I would assume is pretty typical, but $20 for a lock(other storage facilities allow you to bring your own,) and the forced upon you insurance of $11-$15, just terrible. But oh well I needed a storage unit. Proceeded to rent a unit, but had something unfortunate come up 5 minutes later. I literally made a u-turn and returned to Public Storage on Curtner to kindly ask if they could refund my money due to my hard luck situation, and Victoria(property manager,) as well as another manager, flat out, and rudely informed me that there were no refunds. After a few minutes of back and forth they offered me a refund for my lock and insurance, but not on the $24 admin fee, and $1 rent. I believe this company to be very unethical, and willing to screw over the consumer for a buck. Sadly now over a mere $25 I am going to have to go through the leg work of calling the bank, a lawyer, etc to ensure I receive the full amount of my money back, mainly out of principle. PS the clause in the lease that states there are no refunds is so ambiguously written so as to baffle and confuse even the savviest reader of fine print. Shady shady company, avoid! There are more than a few other storage companies out there to choose from. read more

i would not store anything here unless you wanna see it gone. in addition to the prohibitive costs they insist you purchase insurance. and a good thing that was considering they have been ripped off at least four times this month alone. and i was one of em. so some asshat cuts my lock, replaces it with their own and at their leisure, go through and take anything of value. gone are sentimental items such as photos, heirlooms, musical equipment and tools. it is required to punch in a code to enter and the unit is locked but there are no cameras anywhere. so any tuckfard is able to gain entrance by renting a space. once you rent the space, you simply go in and with a bolt cutter, do what you wanna do. this is not an isolated incident, go have a look at the campbell police blotter. the folks there simply do not give a shit and it shows. now i gotta deal with the insurance company, who will undoubtably call me a liar and demand to see receipts from some twenty years ago and reimburse me pennies on the dollar. i am moving out today and will never use this company again. read more

I've come to the conclusion that the only people who post on here are the ones who are angry... I had an awesome experience at this public storage. The new property manager there Melanie was very sweet and always waved to me when she saw me on the property. The other girl Heather is always willing to answer any of my questions or help find a push cart that may have been put in another building. Overall I would recommend this location to my friends and family. Great location, clean property and wonderful staff members. Two thumbs up! read more

I have used this facility for a couple reasons. I had to rent a storage unit for a short time to help out a family member. And recently I needed boxes to pack up my house for some projects. Both time a wonderful employee named Marissa helped me and she it the absolute definition of customer service. She knows her stuff, inside and out, and does it with a smile. If it is just you in the place or if it's busy, she makes you feel like you are important and she is glad you picked Public Storage. You don't find too many employees representing companies like that anymore. read more

He not only guided me through the paper work which was minimal, gave the tour, but also offered advise that was invaluable and will generate my return business. Experience was terrible. I was told it would cost $1 for first month rent. Reality = they tack on an administration fee of $22, a $20 buck lock and $11 minimum insurance fee totaling nearly $60. It took nearly 45 minutes to do the lease paperwork. We are renting a little 5x5, not buying a home! the property manager was really into her job and wanted to read me all my rights. Could not get a dolly to carry our boxes because the two they have were all used. We had to hand carry all our boxes to the inside unit. Staff member from moment we walked in wanted to sell us on a larger unit and supplies which wasted more of my time. Was not happy with the staff member at all. I wish I would have yelped before signing up for the one month. To top it off, they said they would call me in a week. Why? To ask me how my stuff is doing? As a customer, they made it difficult to be a customer. read more
