This family owned operation is a great place! I have nothing negative to say about casa de mini. I've seen other facilities that look like a dump, the upkeeping/landscaping of the facility is maculate! If your looking for a storage facility where you feel that your stuff is SAFE, than this is it! A gated community as well as so many cameras on the property make it a secure place. I've been here for a year now and my 6x10 upper level is great. With huge freight elevators in every building, so don't be discouraged for an upper level unit. With other facilities I'm aware that rent raises tend to go up every month or at least every other month, NOT here! of course just like any storage facilities there are rent raises, but you wont see them sky rocketing here to make you wanna leave!. Shout out to the owners and Casa De Mini staff for doing a great job! read more

I've used this facility twice over the last 20 years. I recently upgraded storage units, as I needed a bit more room. This facility is very clean and well kept. They have security cameras everywhere. Friendly and helpful staff. Great prices compared to other storage companies. read more

Worst place! Hasn't even been a month and they are raising prices! I would think that now businesses would understand the importance of repeat business instead of one months payment and bad reviews. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! Don't waste your time. read more

I've been in this area for over 35 yrs, and have past this place many, many, many times. Until recently I have been in a situation to where "space" is needed so I dropped by to find out some info. I was very impressed with the service (Thank you, Valerie) and the site. I highly recommend renting. Great job folks. . read more

I've had a storage unit here a little over a year now. This place is a good as a storage unit facility can get. The people who work there are friendly. It's easy to get a car close to any unit, even though mine is upstairs. Much cleaner than some other storage facilities I've been to and it's very secure with the cameras and gate. Makes me feel a lot better leaving my stuff there. Be sure to mention the TV ad to get a special rate (These are the people with the stupid ads during the sharks game). read more

I have had 3 units here and never had any issues. Customer service is great and maintenance guys are friendly. The grounds are well kept. Elevators are easy to use they also have carts for easy hauling to your unit. I definitely recommend this storage place. read more

we rented several units of various sizes over a 25 year period. When they did away with Lou's Village and built condos just over the fence from our unit, the construction dust blew into it and for a very long time we could not access it because it made everyone who tried get a bad cough almost immediately. I asked for them to blow it out, but they only did the floor and not anything above the floor, which was where all the toxic dust was. I see several people have complained about the dirt being blown into their units, and we originally had that which we just swept out, but whatever this material was, it was very toxic. . Every year they raised the prices even though we had been there since 1986. We asked them to put a cap on it but all they did was waive one months rent one time. By the time I was able to clean it out 3 years ago I was paying a very large monthly fee. I would have done it sooner but was dealing with my husband's terminal cancer for 5 years, so I was stuck. It doesn't seem like a good business practice to keep raising prices on long time good customers, (at one time we had a regular unit, a small end unit and a double unit) and we were not even able to get into our unit for several years until I finally got a friend to blow it all out. The young ladies at reception were always very nice, but would have to "talk to the owner" so never got any real help. It was very convenient, but if I need storage again I will look for a better deal - and be careful not to rent a unit on the outer perimeter if you do decide to go with them. Maybe our experience was exceptional - how many people stay in one place that long or have a construction issue? But be warned they will raise your fees annually. read more

Stopped by to check out getting some storage. Lady behind the counter barely had a pulse...no one there but she seemed not wanting to help. Then she snapped...Please dont go over there ! Oh i forgot ...storage = fort knox. Mgmt. .... Put customer friendly people at the front desk...just a tip. Im going to public storage to give them my business !! read more

I have been using Casa De Mini Storage for about 5 months and I feel like my stuff is always safe and secure. It's centrally located between 87 and 880 on W San Carlos street. I rent a 5x7 storage unit and feel that there's enough room for all my seasonal clothes, christmas tree, snowboard etc... On top of everything the storage unit and facilities are clean - which is always important because I have high standards for these types of facilities. The staff is very kind and attentive to my needs and the hours are convenient for my work day. I would definitely recommend Casa De Mini as a storage unit service because I have never had a bad experience with the service or storage security. read more

I rented a space today and had a good experience here. I was moving a bunch of stuff and I was not sure how much space needed. The manager took me around on the golf cart and showed me a bunch of different sizes. I looked at some ground floor and second floor spaces and decided to go with the 12x12 second level because it was less money. I suppose if I was going access it a lot I would pay more for the first level but I didn't think it was necessary. I just loaded everything in the freight elevator and took it all to my space. I was surprised how big the place is and all the different sizes there were to choose from. It is also quite nice inside for a storage place. Totally recommend it. Apparently they have been here since 1976. I have driven by for years and had no idea they had been there so long. The guy there said even the woz stored here back in the early days of apple. read more

I was a happy customer at this place for several years. Last month, my credit card account was hacked and VISA closed my account and sent me a new card. So, my autopay didn't work. I got a threatening letter from the storage company and I went in the next day, explained the situation and gave them my new VISA number. They waived the $20 penalty. This month, they tried to run my old number again, despite having the new account number. Of course, it failed. They sent me another threatening letter. This time, when I explained that the error was theirs, they refused to waive the penalty charge. I cleared out my space and cancelled my account. If you are too pigheaded to admit your mistake, and it is worth $20 to lose a long-time customer, I would rather do business elsewhere. read more

People give Casa De Rip Off 5 stars because they have a gate and surveillance cameras so you feel that your belongings are being protected, but shouldn't all storage facilities have these ammenities especially when you end up paying what you do at Casa. I give it 2 stars because of the clean facilities and that's it. I wish I could give them more stars for the cheesy Shark commercials they do but if anything I should be taking a star away for that nonsense. So to the meat and potatos on why I would not recommend them for anyone trying to hold on to their savings. The intro price is good but if you plan on staying long term they WILL hike up your monthly fee gradually in small increments so it's not noticeable at first them before you know it your paying double the amount you initially started with. Oh and don't be late on your payments because when life happens Casa De Crap Hole doesn't. After a couple of late payments even if your chipping away at it they have a very warm and welcoming way of letting you know on "Friday" they'll be having a storage auction "yep that means your sh%t" and it just so happens it's on the day your payment is due. WTF! That's business I guess! And lets say if you DO pay your late payments they still take their sweet ass time taking the lock off your storage so you can get to your belongings. If I pay you I expect access to my stuff at the same time. PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG!! I'm not doing this review out of spite or anything of the sort although it may seem that way by my tone. It just pisses me off how people can and will take advantage of you when they got you against the ropes. I'm doing this because I'm not a fan of how they do business and I'm just trying to protect anyone who is considering them as a potential storage facility. DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR "I TOLD YOU SO" YOU WILL!! read more

This place is kinda a pain in the butt. Their hours are awful. 10-5pm on sundays? How am I supposed to have a full work schedule and work with these hours? When you want your stuff, you dont want to wait for an employee to wake up on a lazy sunday. 6 pm is an okay closing time for a computer programming job, or a manufacturing job, but storage places should be convenient to customers. The employees act like dealing with customers is a chore. I've had way better experiences at nationwide storage/box stores. The boxes are overpriced. You know you can get cheaper packing supplies elsewhere. One time my unit apparently needed to be broken into due to a maintenance issue and it was a pain to get my key to the new lock they put in. The only good thing is my unit can be easily driven up to, and there is usually not other customers in the way. They also have personal security entry and exit codes, which I believe is typical. read more

Bad service, didn't wanted our business, we called previously to tell them we will be there, they told us they will wait for us, we got there one minute before they close, we had the truck full, and they didn't care, they just got more important things to do, than getting business... with all the situation how can someone say no to business.... another couple that they where getting out agreed with me. dint go to this place ... they don't care... they have more important things to do, than taking 5 minutes for customers... read more

I've been a customer here for 15 years due to location. They have zero amenities for trash and recycling. Look for an increase in price every year. Zero discounts for long time customers but always advertising discounts and deals to bring customers in. If you have an outside storage location look for your items to get really dusty and dirty. They will blow dust off the driving and walking pavements resulting in your items getting dirty within the storage units. There is no grace with anything. Sometimes they will state the bathroom is out of service in order to keep it only for the workers and the owners. You can't use any of the power outlets on site. They run a very lean operation and will charge you for everything. The owner/manager will oddly exercise around the premises with his roller blades for exercise so be careful not hit him with your car when driving in and out. A bit unprofessional activity on the site to be honest and not friendly our accommodating in anyway for new our legacy customers. I've have seen him give dirty looks to customers if their vehicle or items are in the way while he is doing his laps. I've also noticed that since Covid, there has been zero attempts/offerings to help current customers if they would need any relief. Nothing on their site, and nothing at the location to proactively extend out to customers if they need assistance. I expect a dramatic price increase in the near future to make up for the lack business that is happening everywhere. Lastly, this place does work if location is important to you, but please be advised that they will do nothing within customer service to make you feel that it is money well spent other than a space to put your stuff in. They have zero culture and market online and on TV exceptionally well, but do nothing to make their current and legacy customer feel welcomed. You are nothing but a number like your storage unit. I never written a negative Yelp except this one and this is all FACTUAL. Their website is spectacular but their front to facing customer service does not match. read more

This is long and detailed. I went to this place 5 times. The first to get price quotes. The lady was helpful and showed us around. I have not seen her since. The second time was to sign up for a unit. I asked if my aunt could sit down because she had a walker and we were waiting for a cab. We were told no. The chair behind the desk might roll with her if it was on the floor. She could not sit behind the desk because it was off limits. We finally sat in the sun on some steps outside on one of the hottest days of this 2017 summer. We went back inside to cool off, standing until the cab came. The next time we came, to put things in storage using a moving truck, we didn't have to deal with the office so it went smoothly. But our car blocked at the gate briefly while someone got out of a car to go into a building next to the office. We were sympathetic because the person had a cast on and crutches. The fourth time was a disaster. We came right before closing. I let a second truck in the wrong gate because there was a line of sight. We could see the driver who would help unload the first truck. So someone came out of an building by the exit gate screaming at us about using the exit gate and that the driver had to go back out because they were closed. This was a large moving truck that was half way in and this lady wanted him to back out into traffic. So I argued that we had 12 more minutes. She said she was gonna call the cops. The driver yelled her to call the cops as he got back onto the driver side. He had opened the passenger side door to see what she was yelling about. So he drove down to our main truck. There was another owner/manager at that truck who was mad about something. I was screaming that we only had 4 things in the second truck, my purse, my bedding, my suit case and the dog cage. I was trying to convey that we would be out in time. The moving truck owner kept saying they only have a quarter of the truck to unload The men began to scurry to unload the truck under the watchful eye of that man. The realtor who had my aunt and dog in her car tried to smooth things over by using a calmer voice to explain we would be out by closing. Saying that the sign said a fee would be charged for any time overage and the place closed at 7 pm. She also said that my aunt was an elderly handicapped lady with epilepsy who had a dog shaking in her lap. Then the police showed up. They were far, by the exit gate and spoke with the man/owner/manager before coming down to where we were unpacking. One of them drew out a billy club. I remember thinking, "oh good they are not going to shoot us." The other said that they were not there to referee and" the owner could do what he wanted on his property". The police left our area after about five minutes. We continue to unpack the truck and pack the storage until about 7:03. When the car my aunt and I were riding in left, I told the realtor to go slow so the man/owner/manager could see my aunt. The driver summed up the entire experience, "They don't care." The final time was when we moved everything out of that storage into a national storage company. I took the note that my aunt had signed terminating the lease to the office. The men unpacked the storage and then packed up the truck. I went back to find out the process to verify what was necessary for proof that the unit had been terminated. The lady there provided the information, but, said the man that had caused all the problems the last time was not allowed on the property in case we went with the same movers. While the men were packing up, the man/owner/manager could be heard by the crew saying he was watching that they got everything out. Everyone laughed. Finally when the unit was checked we got our paper recognizing the termination of the storage lease. This business is devoid of any milk of human kindness. I made two mistake, I did not watch the time and get there early and I let a truck in the exit gate. This is a family owned business who are very rule oriented with no leeway for circumstances. I live in Hawaii and had come to San Jose to help my 77 year old aunt move into senior living. I was a total stranger to the area. read more

Just had the greatest experience. The office staff greeted me and walked me through getting my storage. They knew what size I needed just by a description of the things I needed to store, and then proceeded to show me a couple units so I could see for myself.. I have seen there commercials at games and thought how great to see a family owned buisness. The security looks great, and I am glad to know the have such good staff to keep watch over my things. read more

Pretty much the same as all storage places but does have a gated entry which is important, although, again, not very unique/special. Main reason for a low rating is because I was quoted a monthly rate of $70 on the phone but when it came down to the signing the contract/agreement the cost was actually $80 a month. A small lie surely, but a difference of $120 over a full year so I was pretty disappointed by the bait and switch since they obviuosly know very well that once you show up with a truck load of stuff you aren't going to change your mind and leave over a $10 white lie, right? Try and find a more trustworthy site but GOOD LUCK!!!! read more

This is my very first Yelp review...I'm sharing this because I am extremely happy with my experience, and after trying another storage facility, realized just how good they really are. Yes, they may be a little bit more expensive...but the location worked best for me...and it's very safe and secure. The layout is great...with no parking or traffic issues. There are plenty of carts available. The facilities are extremely clean and well maintained. You can tell that the family who runs this business is very proud, and they pay attention to details. I live in a condo, and don't have a lot of storage for things like holiday decorations, winter gear and extra "stuff". The hours are very convenient, and I know that I can swing by there 7 days a week. The staff is very friendly and always available to assist...although I've rarely needed them. I have been a customer for more than 5 years, and have referred friends and family. I have used several different sized units...as my needs have grown over the years. There are several options to choose from...although they are often close to full capacity. My guess is that there are many happy, long-term customers here...and for good reason! read more

This place is great! It is clean, SECURE and well-run. It is 100% solar powered so I feel good about patronizing a 'green' business. We've used other storage facilities over the years and found this to be the best . It is competively priced but not the cheapest. However, in case you haven't been paying attention to the San Jose Mercury News Action Line lately, when it comes to self-storage places, you get what you pay for! read more
