I wish I can give a negative star review for this storage facility. What happened to my wife and myself was that of nightmares. If you care about your belongings, I urge you, please continue reading My wife and I rented a storage unit back in 2015 shortly after we got married. We needed a place to store our wedding gifts and other household goods until my parents' "auxiliary house" project was finished. We all can acknowledge that building code restrictions in the glorious State of California tend to put up a lot of roadblocks, but that is another story for another time. We would visit the unit from time to time to add more good stuff to our collection. We had accumulated some really nice things we wanted to use, and to share with others. I visited the unit on March 24, 2018 to put a used paper-shredder into the unit. When I opened the unit, I really thought my stomach and heart had dropped to my feet, and I was shacking with such shock. We had our storage unit completely gutted and ransacked, broken into through the wall of an empty unit adjacent to ours. All our unopened and unused wedding gifts and household goods were gone. $7,500 worth of goods. I called LAPD to file a report, and according to the officers that came, 30 other units were burglarized as well, they believed on Christmas Day and/or New Years' Eve Day, 2017. To our demise, the detective that was on this case could not get enough evidence to reasonably warrant an arrest. This storage facility did not have sufficient security services, nor did they notify any of the renters that they might want to check their units due to the recent burglary. At the time of the burglary, they only had one camera, and it only surveyed the front code-locked gate. There is a chain linked fence gate in the back of the facility that might have been where a couple of moving trucks came through and ransacked the whole facility. Since the incident, they have added only one additional camera, in the office. I am not one for conspiracy theories, but I have reason to believe that this was an inside job. Shortly after I found out about the facility be compromised and in the middle of fighting with the insurance company and Public Storage's regional headquarters, I got a letter from the District Manager, Tom Dickens. The letter, dated May 24, 2018, said this in the first paragraph: "In our continuing effort to provide you with the best storage experience and state of the art facility, we will soon be conducting upgrades and/or repairs that will impact your unit". I believe this stunt was done to cover his backside. I read some older reviews on this facility about the district manager, and he is a real piece of work. The facility is not state of the art. It might as well be a facility built by the Soviet Union. This was the last typed thing in the letter: "We look forward to continuing to serve you and your storage needs and apologize for any inconveniences this upgrade/repair may cause". The only inconvenience I have, sir, is that I am going to have to find $7,500 to replace things that were stolen from my wife and myself, most of which were graciously given to us. I believe whole heartedly Public Storage does not care about you or your storage needs, and when they say they do, they are lying to you. I will never use another storage unit again, let alone a Public Storage unit. If you must use one, make sure you check to see if they have cameras, if any, and where they are located. When you sign up for value replacement coverage, make sure you take photos of your goods in the unit, and have a list/log of the things in the unit, with their cost values. We were never told these things by the customer service associates at the time of opening the storage unit. I say these precautions because I do not want anyone to experience what my wife and I went through. Today I closed the unit. I only kept it just in case LAPD needed to look in it again. It is hard picking up the literal pieces from this tragedy. We trusted Pubic Storage with our belongings. We had hoped that one day we would use and share the things we gathered up, and now, we cannot use those things. We still feel violated, and it is all thanks to Public Storage. read more

IF COULD I WOULD HAVE USED A NEGATIVE STAR FOR THIS BUSINESS REVIEW. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU AVOID RENTING STORAGE SPACE FROM PUBLIC STORAGE. I have been a customer for nearly 20 years and my location at 511 S. Fair Oaks in Pasadena, CA has been having a lot of ROBBERIES according to the local Pasadena Police Dept. Yet i NOR the other current tenets have never been informed and warned ABOUT THE ROBBERIES. I suffered a break into my Unit space some time in January and was robbed of Family jewelry and priceless mementos from my family of my deceased mother and father and sister.. These family things are irreplaceable and to this date I have had no contact FROM PUBLIC STORAGE to solve the crime whatever. NOT from the location SITE management nor Public Storage CORPORATE to help file a Police Report nor help me find the thieves and get my things restored. In fact, The only call I have had was to inform me that if I don't continue with my payments, PUBLIC STORAGE would PUT THEIR LOCK BACK ON my space again, DISABLE MY BUILDING ENTRANCE CODES and place a LEIN to sell what is left. WHEN I CALL THEM, they also said they would not review the security tapes and only work with the Police. AND ACCORDING TO THE PPD, it turns out the indoor Video Surveillance System doesn't even work. PUBLIC STORAGE is abdominal and cruel and the management could not be ruder nor less concerned about the safety of their units . Public Storage is a perfect example of PATHOLOGICAL CORPORATE CAPITALISM and GREED and they don't give a shI*t about their customers. PERIOD. AVOID THEM FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, This is MY OPINION AND BASED UPON MY EXPERIENCE. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this matter. read more

I'm between apartments now, staying with family and this was my first time renting a storage unit with Public Storage and not only did I choose this location because of the great pricing, but the incredible reviews made this location stand out to me, also the open hours. This location was a little bit out of my way coming from NoHo/Sherman Oaks area, but I'll go a little out of the way for comfort, amazing customer service and great prices! Robert was amazing, courteous and knowledgeable!! Showed me the unit, the premises, went over the paperwork thoroughly, he even helped me with possible other options if I needed to downsize or didn't need the unit as long as I planned for!! I received a confusing email invoice and received a voicemail from Public Storage, called and Rob walked me through the process and helped me understand!! Very reassuring to know they have our best interest at heart! I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone renting a storage unit, painless process, amazing customer service and great prices, I am very pleased!! read more

There are two sides to this place. The people in the office are pleasabt, helpful, and wonderful to deal with. The district manager, however, is a corporate drone from the bowels of a failed MBA program. This low-life scumbag will gleefully ignore the law and common decency if it will bring an extra nickel to the bottom line. I think he may also be double-dealing for a reality TV show but that's just conjecture in my part. As long as you pay your bill on time and all your dealings are with the on-site office, you'll be fine. If you ever have to deal with the district manager, may God have mercy on your soul and your possessions -- because the district manager won't, that's for damnsure. read more

I was in a jam because I had to empty out my mom's apartment in a couple hours so they could do an emergency check on it's foundation. So I went to Public Storage and talked to a guy named Brian. Brian got me the best the unit, got me through all of the paperwork ASAP, and hunted down a cart that I could use and brought it to me immediately. It made a really tough day on me a lot easier. I've stored at 3 other Public Storage locations prior to this one, and I have to say that this facility is the cleanest and most well kept location that I've seen. I had my Belongings in storage here for over a year. Sometimes I'd be a little late and they've once gave me grace on top of grace. Which was so helpful during my hard financial situation. The manager are always nice when I come in to pay. read more
