Not the best customer service with a worker Named Jason. I went to return a Lock that I didn't need. Jason kept telling me we didn't provide you the lock when the lock said public storage. Then he had to talk to someone about it. Then he said I have to take break I will be back at 2:45 he never returned at 2:45. Stopped by a little after 2:50 no one was in the office. Good group of associates making sure everything was going well & responding to all of my voicemails. Space was clean & ready to go.

I was renting a unit for my mom and then she passed away recently so I needed to get the lock cut and replaced. They assured me it would be within 3-5 business days which ended up being 8 days. I made arrangements for moving based on the 5 day promise. When I complained and said it was an inconvenience, the worker made it seem like it's my fault for losing the key. I was upset because this person, Dale, wasn't aware of why I didn't have the key and never took accountability for not living up to their promise. Made a complaint to their customer service line and they said the manager, Justin, would contact me in 48 hours. Never did. Made another complaint and they said the manager's manager would contact me. Never did. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE read more

If I could give this place a 0 star I would! I got a storage space from them but it turned out to be too small so I had to upgrade to a larger storage space. I wasn't able to get customer service in the front because no one was working at the post. So I booked another space on their website. I tried to get a hold of customer service and they said they wouldn't be able to give me a refund for the space I DID NOT OCCUPY. After leaving several attempt to get a hold of the district manager Rachel Rodriguez with NO response. I took the issue to my bank and had the charges reversed.  A couple of days later Rachel finally followed up with me. saying that she had credited me. I told her I have already handled it and they could try to take back the credit. The professional thing to do if they respect their customer is to give me a call back about how they are proceeding with this issue. NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT DO THAT, they sent balance to a DEBT COLLECTOR. I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER. I AM OCCUPYING THEIR SPACE ANDD GIVING THEM BUSINESS!!! This place is unbelievable. Not only have they raised the rates substantially every year, now they have announced an additional mid-year increase of another 11%. More than $400/month is ridiculous. And there are some pretty inept people on staff. I tried to access the unit to try to clean it out and the one of the springs was broken. It took the SIX WEEKS to repair something that simple and that was only after I told them I wold not make another payment until it was fixed. Made a reservation for April on-line after speaking with someone at the property and looking at units that would meet our needs. We made a reservation for April for the largest unit. When I arrived they no longer had the unit..oversold and didn't even care. Then they gave me a smaller unit a a higher price? Way to screw over the Military person!!!! Be very careful my 94 year old mothers stuff was STOLEN. Showed employee the hole in the wall. Was not offered a different unit to secure the rest of the stuff. Eight days later and the hole is still there and still no offer to move my stuff. Technically someone with access could go into the adjacent unit and take there stuff and blame me. The manager's only advice was that there is a work order in to fix it without offering us another unit to secure our stuff. The first visit there was a lady with a similar incident. I recommend a different place for you valuables Today we went back with a power of attorney and they still would not let us in. Still don't know if the hole is fixed. They never asked if they could go into our unit for repairs. Don't know if the people that fixed the hole were bonded. read more

I've rented from other Public Storage locations in the past and they were great. The office manager here doesn't represent the brand well at all. My father reserved a unit for me online while I loaded my truck to go in and take over the unit. The first month was supposed $1 for a 10x10 unit. We arrived and filled out the paperwork. After looking at the unit and my truckload I knew we needed a bigger unit and requested a larger one. The office manager said it costs more per month, which is fine. She also said the $1 deal doesn't apply to that unit although it is advertised on Yelp, TV, and online. I showed her the online discount and she said we can't use it because he signed the paperwork, is considered a tenant, and it would be considered a transfer. I told her he will just cancel the 10x10 unit and I'll reserve the 10x15 unit in my name for the discount. She said I can't because he listed me on his account as an available contact which makes me ineligible for a discount. I had no part in adding myself as a contact to his account, which means you can add anybody to your account and take away their ability to rent at their promotional rate. This all happened within a matter of minutes. Based off a few other reviews I read and my experience, it is clear that they are dishonest hustlers. It was a bad business decision because I planned to rent a second unit and keep them both for about 1 year. Instead, I rented my second unit at Extra Space Storage for the rest of my items. I'm in the process of moving my items out of Public Storage so I don't have to deal with them anymore. My sister lives nearby, just bought a house and is moving out of her apartment. She needs a place to store her items while she goes through escrow and decides what to take to her house and what to get rid of. She will be renting from Extra Space Storage as well because of this experience. My parents live nearby and just started hunting for a hobby. They need a unit to store their camping/hunting gear and are also renting from Extra Space Storage. My brother is moving down here from Seattle and needs a unit, but I think you get the picture. Way to go Public Storage, keep taking advantage of good people! read more

Went to rent a storage unit last Sunday. Despite listing on their web site that they were open on Sunday, no one was in the office and there was no sign on the door saying if or when they would be back. After calling the phone number on their web site and getting someone who clearly was not at that property, they tried connecting me to someone and I was disconnected. While looking online for another storage place, someone showed up. Right from the beginning he was rude and condescending. After figuring out what size we would need, we walked in the rain (we asked if there was a cart to get us around since I'm a senior and I have difficultly walking, was told yes but it's not for tenants or guests) to one unit. The salesman showing us the unit walked way in front of us, never slowing down to have us catch up. Once at the unit he again was rude and condescending. I never felt he was willing to work with us to see another unit. After telling him that unit wouldn't work for us he just took off, walked back to his office and never said anything to us. After his rude performance I would have NEVER rented anything from him. Apparently customer service is still VERY BAD. Thankfully, We found another storage place just down Imperial Hwy. (INSTORAGE self storage, 17071 Imperial Hwy., Yorba Linda.) that was opened and had wonderful customer service and better rates. If you are looking for a storage unit, DO NOT GO TO THIS PUBLIC STORAGE, go down the street to INSTORAGE. read more

I am in the process of moving my stuff out of my current unit at this location to another one. When I entered my code to get out of the gate at this location it gave me the message to "see manager" and the gate would mot open. I completely understand that there is a gate to walk through to go into the office, however when I have my small child in the car on a hot day it is a huge inconvenience to have to get him out of the car to go get the gate opened. I called the office thinking that they could simply help me out, but instead no one answered the phone. I also understand that perhaps no one was in the office at the time so I waited to see. I called the office again 3 times with no answer. Finally I called the 800 number to speak to customer service who was able to open the gate remotely for me. I was still just in shock that after sitting there for 20 minutes there was no one in the office. When I called again Melissa answered the phone and proceeded to give the absolute worst "customer service" possible. She told me word for word that "she has other things to do and was busy looking at other things and calling other people". I told her that it was pretty obvious that I was right there and sitting in front of the gate clearly unable to get out. She never apologized, never took ownership, and instead was extremely defensive and rude over the phone. She also was nice enough to hang up on me. After speaking to the property manager after this, it seems like she is a repeat offender of being horrible to customers. It is embarrassing to have someone this awful in your front office and I highly advise to look elsewhere if you are looking for a storage space. Melissa lacks any sort of customer service skills and is awful. I hope she does not last there for long read more

I have had a unit here for over 6 years.... I haven't had a problem until lately. We went to our unit and noticed there was a different lock on it, the girl working there said we put that lock on there, we said WE did? we did not, we have key's to a round lock...asked for her to call a manager to cut the lock off if it...it has been a hassle, and we have yet to get a manager to cut the lock off. They said we could call a locksmith at our expense..This seemed fishy, she acted really nervous, to us, it seems like an inside job to break into storage unit there. Setting up was absolutely painless and the space of storage is perfect for what I need to store. Definitely like this place already and glad I didn't have to check anywhere else. Unfortunately I just discovered that some of my belongings are missing. I believe someone has picked the lock that I bought from Extra Space Storage which was recommended (by the way) and now my electronics are gone! There are no cameras inside the facility. They offered to look at footage for me but that isn't going to get my stuff back! I called and spoke with the Property Manager who said these things happen from time to time. Well they referred me to the Insurance Company whom I couldn't get a hold of and it kept getting disconnected. I filed a Police Report and the Officer told me that this was the second incident from the same place today "Extra Space Storage". The only person who has been in my unit with my presence was the Property Manager Alex. I don't feel that my belongings are safe here anymore and I will be moving the rest of my stuff to another storage facility. I do believe something VERY SHADY is going on here. I have given no access to anyone else to my unit and Alex is the only one who has been in it to check for bugs. There were no signs of forced entry but the items that were taken would be easily sold quickly. My 55" TV is gone, my Sewing machine is gone among other things! **BEWARE** if you value your belongings. This place is a joke. Our storage unit has been compromised twice! This time the contents of our unit were found outside of the unit itself. Someone used a crowbar to open the door, not breaking our lock. The company did nothing about it. The least they could do is compensate us a month's rent. But nope that's too much to ask for. When I wrote a complaint on their Facebook page, I received a very generic response, "Thank you for making us aware! We are contacting the team that manages the location so they can reach out and assist." They never asked which location nor did I offer. Never heard another word. So I rented from this place for a month and then decided I couldn't afford to keep my stuff there. When I emptied my stuff out of the storage unit they told me everything was good and so I took the lock and left. The next thing I know they put a $90 charge onto my account saying that they saw an item in my storage and it costs 90 dollars to remove. Now why am I getting this for something that wasn't mine. They told me that because I took the lock off I am getting charged for this and that since it was found in my storage unit, I am going to get charged. When I found out I asked them if I could come and see the thing and clean it out. They told me they had already disposed of it and they do not have it anymore so its too late. Don't rent from public storage. When I tried to confront them about it and to ask if I could have the address of the letter for the corporate they told me that they were not allowed to do that. Don't go here. Last time I also got charged for taking my lock that I paid for in the beginning of my rental. read more

They require you to get insurance and continue to raise the rent. I started at $60 and less than a year later was at $90! They also make it difficult to cancel your account. On top of the fact when I initially toured the units, most of the "5x5"s were much smaller! The manager kept denying it until we had to take out a ruler and measure. It was actually 3 & 1/2 x 4!!! That's when she finally admitted they were only approximately 5x5. What a rip off!! I should've known then not to stick with this place. All in all there are many other much more affordable storage units, id say go with them!! read more

Terrible place! It is infested. I wish someone would have told me that my clean boxes would be covered in rodent droppings and cockroaches. I was tempted to torch all my belongings. When I was moving out, it was like my whole storage unit was alive. I was so scared to move my things. The units are outside. The barriers between units are cheap. Obviously, rodents, spiders, and cockroaches crawl around very easily. I was moving, so I needed a place to store my things for several months. When I left my things they were clean, neat, and tidy. When I came back to get my things, some boxes were open and things crawling around. I suggest you go elsewhere. It is not worth trusting your belongings here. You won't get them back. Your belongings will get infested. HORRID place. On top of that, I reserved my storage unit online for an online deal and price. When I arrived, I decided that the unit was not big enough. I upgraded it to the next size up. The manager Denise seemed nice. Until I noticed she wasn't giving me the online special. She said I couldn't get the special. So, there was NO $1 for the first month and no lower monthly fee. By that time I had already moved my things in, so I was too tired to move them again. What a scam. Second scam. Denise said I could purchase boxes. Apparently it is less expensive if you buy a lot of boxes in one go. So, I did that. She encouraged me to get boxes for the a flat screens. She said I could always bring them back if I don't use them. Well, I didn't use them. When I asked to change them for regular boxes, she wouldn't. She basically said that I could have gotten the boxes elsewhere. The TV boxes are actually MORE expensive than the regular boxes. She even called her regional manager in front of me to confirm that what I was asking for was not in their company policy. Well, WHY did she even tell me that I would be able to change the boxes in the first place? Again, such a scam. So, here are the cons: 1) INFESTED with rodents & cockroaches 2) Online special is NOT honored if you go there and then decide to upgrade. 3) They lie to you. Go elsewhere. I don't ever write comments. But, I would like to save someone infestation headache and frustration with staff headache. I am SO glad that I closed my unit. read more

After months, although they knew our units were broken jnto, they still did not notify us. Once I discoverwd that everything was stolen from my unit, turned out that neighbors units where also broken into. They were not courteous during contract and in addition forced me to have their insurance, that in the end did not want to cover our loss. Something with the small print. BEWARE!!! My husband and I had almost everything stolen from our unit. There is some kind of scam going on here. We rented the biggest unit they had for almost a year and half and I let them know a month in advance I was moving out and 2 days before I went to move everything was gone!!! I went into the office immediately after I discovered everything was gone hysterically crying and the girl at the desk could care less! She told me to call the district manager Bilal and file a police report. I did both immediately. I didn't hear back from Bilal for days and he told me he wouldn't reimburse me any rent or do anything for me because he said " I assure you this happens at a lot of other locations." The company did nothing for me. I had to file a claim with my homeowners insurance. It has been a total nightmare. If you value your belongings do not store your things here. The lock on my unit was intact and from the outside it looked totally fine. It's clear they are running a scam and here. It was definitely an inside job. Beware!!! read more
