This gets long due to the sheer quantity of problems and evidence of mismanagement and corruption. At the time of this writing, there has been no one in the office for 2 days (Thursday Jan 2, and Friday Jan 3)and no one has responded to my telephone messages. To make matters worse I cannot gain access to my stuff, neither with the app or with the touchpad at the gate. Either the code was changed without my knowledge, or there was a clerical error. My last access was in November, and I'm enrolled in auto-pay. Obviously this is not a good place to put your stuff if you like to have access to it. I'm at a loss to explain the positive reviews. Update for Jan 15. There was someone at the office that day. He was friendly and tried to address my new problem. That is, there were no dollies. A plus at this facility is that there are long flat dollies like you find at a big box hardware store. They are essential for me since my locker is more than 50 yards from the elevator. The person on duty conjectured that some people were keeping them in their lockers. The app was able to open the gate today but it took a few reboots of the app to get it to work. January 22. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. When I went to access some items from my locker, I found a water leak right on top of my electric chain saw, and its charger. Still no dollies in evidence . The attendant claims there is one and people have been fighting over it. January 29, elevator still out of service. The puddle has almost dried in the unit. I'm hoping to move out before the next big snow melt, and more possible damage,but without a dolly and an operating elevator I'm a prisoner. February 14 the elevator was repaired after a week and a dolly is sometimes available. But new problems emerged. I spoke with a district manager who tried to get me a reimbursement of rent already paid but what happened was the record of rent paid disappeared. Now I'm getting daily calls, texts and/or emails demanding payment of "past due" rent. Calls to rectify the matter have not sufficed. Today I was lucky enough to gain access to my locker to remove the lighter and more valuable items. The heavier stuff I didn't have the means to remove and the electric chainsaw was already destroyed. I left the lock off the locker. The threat of losing my stuff was becoming more real, and I had to cut my losses. I'm ashamed I stayed this long. Update: The problem of alleged non-payment was resolved after some time but late fees accrue and the calls and texts keep coming. No way to move the last three items out without a dolly or access. fees accrue and the calls and texts keep coming. Fortunately, Jay, who has always been helpful, secured me a dolly, and got me a temporary entrance code and I was able to clear the remaining items to the dumpster. Dirty location. If you want a clean facility, safe location and covered location fir unloading during rain wind or snow call Uhaul, Bloomington MN!!! Go to UHaul storage facility instead. CAUTION - The $29.99 administration charge is NON REFUNDABLE. My agent did not disclose this and would not refund the fee when we tried to cancel after only 30 minutes. This place used to be run very well. It was always clean and there was somebody there during normal working hours that you could either call or they will call you right back. Or they would be in the office. During Covid it was a little more difficult but now you can't get a hold of anyone or get a return call and the property is always messy there's always trash all over in the back parking lot and never anyone to talk to. I wanted to vacate my unit and I did but I am now being billed even though I am no longer there because I can't find anyone to help me close my account. My lock is off the unit, all my stuff is out of there. I wouldn't recommend this location anymore to anybody. read more

They were horrible to be about wanting to get my lock cut off since I was out of state. Over 2 and half weeks, they kept telling me the wrong thing. The manager will be here tomorrow and he can cut. The manager will write back to you right away. The lock is already cut. Then, when my movers got there, the lock was not cut and you have to hire a locksmith. Plus, you have to schedule a date so a manager can be there. Even thought it's my lock. They were complete jerks about it too. Do not trust them. read more

There was no attendant during posted business hours. Phone calls were not returned. I could not find a light switch for the lights in my rented unit. Based upon my experience thus far, I regret renting a space at public storage and would not recommend them. read more

I didn't have the same experience that others seem to have here. Perhaps if the Patricia person everyone talks about would have helped me, it would have been better. Overall, I say this place is an absolute joke and scam. The person I worked with was as cold as a person could be, and somehow fee after fee was added to my bill even though I called the national call center the night before to set everything up, and they told me the "final" price which wasn't at all the final price once I arrived at the unit. If you really want to store your stuff here, keep track and document all your interactions so you can call them out on the random fees they add to your bill. read more

So far my rental has been great. Alix has been extremely helpful in making sure that I was satisfied on my initial move in day. I will say that the building is older so don't expect everything to look brand new, but that doesn't affect it's ability to be a safe and effective place to store things. I like that there's an app to enter in gate codes via blue tooth, otherwise, when leaving the facility you do have to get out of your vehicle to enter the code. read more

This place is run down. There is always something broken. I've been at this location for almost 3 years now. The main entrance gate has been broken at least twice, and when it is broken it's broken for weeks at time. Then, the second side door doesn't close unless you physically pull it shut so that door is rarely locked when I go. It's crazy that the rent keeps getting raised yet they can't even fix the doors. I'm scared to go there at night! I can't wait to get my stuff out of there. read more

I had a very busy day today, reserved a space at Simply Storage in Eagan, Minnesota and they were not there twice that I had came back to their facility within 2 hours. Understand that I am a student and of all days, the only day that worked out for me was today where I have a night class. I didn't have all the time in the world to do my studying and school work, and I was late for class because Simply Storage inconveniently was not there. I had to reserve a space somewhere and Public Storage was the next cheapest available. I reserved in a very short notice, and within minutes of just reserving Patricia called to let me know and confirm that she had gotten my reservation! What an ANGEL! I at least knew she was going to be there!! Drove about 10 minutes to get to her location, she gave me all the details and answered my questions, I finally got to unload my things! Even though the other place was CRAP, I appreciate Patricia at Public Storage helping me out! read more

I chose this facility sight unseen because they said I could unpack a moving pod there when I made the reservation. When my pod arrived they said I wasn't actually allowed to park it there but since it was their mistake they let me unpack it. It was kind of dark and sketchy and when I stopped by to get something I found a packet of rat poison in my unit. I moved out 2 months ago and was charged January rent by mistake. There was a change in management and he was impossible to get ahold of. After 7 messages and 2 weeks someone finally picked up the phone and agreed to refund my January rent. This was on 2/4. On 2/7 they sent my account to collections for the exact amount they refunded. I got in touch with them and they said it was a glitch they would fix it, but customer service is impossible to get in touch with and their collections department never picks up. Will never use this company again. So much stress and frustration, total lack of professionalism, and the manager literally told me to "stop giving him attitude" on the phone when I called to complain. read more

No one answers the phone when I call. It does not matter when I call. When they finally call you back it is 2 minutes before they close and if you miss the call you can't talk to anyone that day. Calling the 1-800 number is a joke, unless you want to make a payment over the phone they just divert you back to the physical office in Bloomington, and as stated above no one answers the phone! Plus, if you are trying to move out and have to reschedule your move out date, make sure you go online and re-activate your auto-pay because they apparently shut it off when you schedule a date to move. I did not receive any alerts, nor was I informed by the person I finally talked to on the phone that they cancel your auto-payment information as soon as you schedule a move out date; whether you move out or reschedule. We had a family emergency and needed to rescheduled the move out date. Because no one answers the phone I decided to login to my online account and reschedule because I thought it would be easier. I received my monthly billing summary as I always have in the past and thought everything was normal for another month, then I get a second email indicating that I missed a payment. I've been renting the same space for over 2.5 years, using the auto-payment feature and have never missed a payment until now. You think I can get a hold of someone to fix this issue. No! Because no one answers the phone at either cooperate or the location. So guess I get stuck paying a late fee for something I never gave them permission to do, stopping my auto-payment. For the new renters really pay attention to what you will be paying once your introductory rate comes to an end. You may be surprised by the amount of increase. On a final note, I am not picking on the person working at the facility at this time by making the statements in this review. It appears that the company saves money by having very little staff available. It also does not appear that they give the staff the resources necessary to run the office efficiently. This is defiantly a top down issue. read more

My opinion is just that, mine. I felt uncomfortable in the dungeon-like hallways with the poor lighting and the grunginess of this building or like in my hallway, only one light fixture working. Do they walk the hallways to see if things need attention? I don't know. I took my unit the first of July 2016 at $147 a month plus their $11.00 insurance added to that. Now I get a new bill saying they are increasing my rent to $171.00 + the insurance for a new rate of $182.00. For ~$30 more a month for the same unit seems unreasonable. read more

I reserved a 5x5 storage unit online and talked with a very kind worker on the phone. When I arrived, however, that worker was nowhere to be found. In her place was a worker who treated me like I was intruding on her time. She led me to a room that was not even close to 5x5. She said the rooms are approximate and might not be exactly 5x5. I lay down in it to show her that this room was more like 5x3. My torso and head were sticking out into the hallway, and I'm 5'4". I asked if she had a measuring tape to show me the size. She didn't. I asked for a manager who later told me to go to Target to buy a tape measure. I'm closing on my condo in two days and moving to Germany, I told them, and I didn't have time to mess with this. I asked for a price reduction since this room is so obviously not 5x5. I wasn't sure my things would fit into it (still don't know -- I haven't moved everything into it yet). I was given neither a price reduction nor a true 5x5 room. But the woman from the front desk, who called herself a manager (not possible) told me I should be careful in the units -- she said she carries knives and pepper spray every time she goes inside where the lockers are. Wow. I called the district manager when I got home to talk about these things -- left two messages and never heard back. Just called him again and left a third voicemail message. Terribly unimpressed with P.S. Bloomington, and I might find another company before I fly to DE, if I have time. I do not recommend this place at all. read more
