Before signing up online I went to inspect the property. I saw a large transparent garage door for customer vehicle entrance, two available lumber yard style dollies, a clean and modern facility, and one of 2 operating elevators. had come to take none of these things for granted. Extra Space really needs to say more about their amenities on the website. There was a red flag though: no one in the office. That had been a recurring problem with the other facility. I still had some questions not covered on the website and the chat line was busy. I called. That didn't turn out well. I was asked to verify everything that I had just entered online and was asked to enter my CC on the telephone key pad which kept failing. When the woman on the other end said she would get technical help I hung up and started over. I already had my questions answered. After that, I saw a sign in the window saying the attendant was on the property and gave a number to reach her/him. A good sign, but it had just been put there. A few minutes later the attendant showed up. All that was not enough was not enough to take off a star. When you choose a size locker, if there's more than one of the same type available you are shown a map and you get to choose the location. You pay for the lock on registration which is unique to the Extra Space, in which you insert into the specially designed doors. It's easy to use and hard to pick.

I'm not the only person they did the same increase to. We have several other units and between them, they were raised $175. a month. So with this unit added on, the amount raised totals $220 each month. We don't have extra money on a fixed income, Social Security. We haven't met the new crew yet, but we were always treated good and with respect from the old crew, especially the hired help Lisa more than the managers. We saw her more often, and she is an asset to the company. The previous manager Mike wanted to keep us as clients so they didn't apply as steep a raise when prices went up. The new owners raised everything all at once, taking money from food and needed prescriptions. I guess they don't want to keep the older dependable clients who have been there for years. This PS is a bit older than the one half a mile away and seems to have more outside vehicle storage than the other. Spread over two buildings. The main building is where the office is. Not very convenient for dropping off things from your car and load in from vehicle will be either for larger garage door units to left or more convenient drive-through at the other location nearby. Here you have to park in front of door and carry it in or through small overhead door entry - tough during rain or snow. Also they are very much pushing using their app for entry vs using the keypad - which is easy and I prefer. So extremely annoying text every time I visit asking me to use app instead. If I wanted to I would. I'm hoping this is short term so I'll just keep deleting jerk texts. So overall this is ok. Not the cleanest or newest I have used. But easy, cheaper, and convenient. When they raise the rent, I'll probably move out. For now it works.

It went from a beautiful site with 24 hour access. To a run down dump in three years. All the while rates have nearly doubled. The site is all locked up. You can't even use the restroom. The floors haven't been vacuumed in months. There are hundreds of dead bugs in the hallway leading to my unit. Stay away from this site. It's horribly run and not maintained.

Unfortunately, the code we were given didn't work at all! Several people tried entering it and it never worked to open the gate. We tried get a hold of someone at the business but nobody answered. We left a message for the business about the issue and to return the call and nobody ever called back. We ended up having to call UHaul's main support hub and they reserved a vehicle at a UHaul across town. In total, we wasted almost 2 hours trying to get this truck.

Robert, Max, and Dewayne were a great crew. They arrived on time, and they hustled. We mostly used…read morethem for furniture and a few smaller items, and the cold didn't deter them. Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!
