Myla (the storage manager) goes above and beyond. she was incredibly helpful for me as a first time storage unit, and also helped my sister and father with a drop off. she explained everything, printed out documents, walked up and down the units with me - I haven't had help from someone at this level in a long time. fully recommend a spot here! read more

We had our stuff here for 9 months. It's expensive. Our 10x10 was almost $300 a month. The elevators are slow, the wooden floors are way over due for repairs and and I even found a fire extinguisher out of its box, on the floor. The box is even installed upside down lol. Where is OSHA? lol. Oh, and the best part. We got charge for a full month because we didn't get our stuff out before Feb 27? They processed our card on the day we moved our stuff out.. The 3rd of the month. So we had to pay for the whole month, even though we left on the 3rd. Manager didn't care and said oh well. Definitely won't reccomended them to anyone because that's just selfish and horrible practices. Stay away from public storage. Expensive and will charge you for not even being there. read more

I just recently came there and got a storage. I drove from over two hundred miles away and left my keys. The on-site manager and staff were so accommodating and nice and really helped me resolve my issues. So Glad I picked this storage. the help received here from Maila (sp?) was more than I expected and certainly more than Ive received from any other storage facility in my lifetime. that may sound dramatic but ask yourself how often does one interact with storage personnel. here's 3 things that stood out for me.. 1. one of us put the lock on the unit incorrectly thus leaving it completely unsecured (10' by 20' full of everything we own) ..the next morning very early we received a call from Maila (sp?) informing us of our mistake and asking if we'd like her to secure it properly/temporarily until we could come back and lock it properly. 2. had to use the restroom and since I was by myself my open unit would be unattended and she offered to keep an eye out. 3.ready to leave and having made the mistake of loading all our tie downs and straps somewhere inaccessible again the manager came thru with some straps someone had left behind which worked perfectly! I've worked in customer service for more than 15 yrs and the one thing Ive found most important is developing return customers. great job and thank you! read more

I submitted the following input about this company on a survey they provided after we finally were able to terminate our lease after removing our items from their facility: Your company is reprehensible and I would never recommend you to anyone! After providing a 1 month free incentive to use your storage service, 3 months later you raised the monthly rental by $70/mo, a nearly 20% increase!!! If that isn't a bait and switch scheme I don't know what is!!!! You get someone to fill a storage unit knowing how tough it is to then move things, then you bump the monthly rent by an obscene amount. This is a horrible, predatory business practice. Your company is lowest of the low. We wouldn't recommend you to anyone looking for storage solutions. read more

It pains me to write 1-star reviews, but in this particular case, I believe it to be necessary in the interest of public health & safety. I will however preface this by saying Jeff, the manager on duty, was very honest and we appreciate his honesty. That being said, THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH FLEAS!!!! I came here after doing some research on the web hoping to rent a 5x10 storage unit because my girlfriend & I just moved to the area. I met Jeff who was very upfront in telling us, "Hey just so you know, we have a bit of a flea issue on the 3rd floor. We had an exterminator come out and spray it, but they're still around, so we're having them come again next week. But, don't worry, the unit you're looking at is on the 2nd floor so you should be OK............." Upon hearing this, it was a solid 'NO' in my mind. Think about it, fleas are parasites that feed on living mammals; which means there's probably an animal somewhere in this storage warehouse (either dead or alive). And then here's the WORST PART................ MY GIRLFRIEND GOT BITTEN!! Badly. Jeff took us up to the 2nd floor to check out the unit and we were up there for under 10 minutes. In that time, one of those little F'ers managed to munch on my girlfriend SIX times! Seriously, go look at the photo I uploaded in the gallery of her shoulder. $77/mo for a 5x10 unit isn't that great of a price (there are actually cheaper same-sized units @ other Public Storage locations), but once you factor in the FLEA INFESTATION, it's definitely not worth it!! Store your stuff here at your own risk -- and if you do, you should consider flea bombing yourself & your stuff. read more

OK, I hate keep changing the rating but moving out experience was again disappointing. For some reason, they charge for full month regardless of move out date. I didn't even think about this possibility so I decided to move out on the 3rd of the month, then realized that I was charged for the full month and they wouldn't credit me back the remaining days. I can't think of any rational reason for this policy except for it trying to rip off customers who didn't read the agreement carefully or who have no other choice but moving out at the beginning of a month. This policy makes no sense. If I move in on the 1st and move out on the 2nd, then I'll be charged for two days plus one-time fees; but if I move in 31st and move out next day on 1st, then I'll need to pay one month plus one day plus one-time fees? In both scenarios, I'm renting the same two days, just because my move-in and move-out date are at different positions in a calendar month, the difference in charge could be as much as a full month? This makes totally no sense. I did not read the agreement carefully and assumed that this highly-rated business won't put anything out of ordinary rationality into it. The property manager at this location was courtesy and was trying to be helpful, but she couldn't do anything about it. I don't know why this business gets such a high rating on Yelp. Probably because the staff here are nice and helpful. But the centralized customer service representative was impatient, and the move-out policy is a rip-off. read more

The property manager I believe her name is Tammy is always so cheerful and always pleasent to speak with. Never a problem vacating the unit and having them stop payment. I am a single woman and my own safety and that of my daughters is paramount. As I was moving into my storage space, I was confronted with a dishelvelled, homeless looking man walking towards me in the darkly lit hallway. My radar for people has always been strong and in this instance I felt immediately very scared and unsafe. I was able to rush out the door and then finished up with my last items quickly. It then dawned on me that this man LIVED IN ONE OF THE STORAGE SPACES! When I came back several weeks later to discuss this with the person working at the desk, they seemed to acknowledge this as true but were clearly not going to do anything about it. This is unacceptable and I have moved out, never to return to any other "Public Storage" ever again. I now have my property at a safer location in Kirkland. read more

I have rented a storage unit here for few months. Tammy and Jeff are both very friendly, professional and helpful. Tammy was quick with the check in process in the beginning, walking me through the process in a quick and efficient way, showed the storage unit for inspection, and explained the insurance options thoroughly. On check out, I first called ahead to make sure they will be at the office, and Jeff made sure that everything will take place smoothly with my account. The facility itself is neatly managed, I've never seen anything out of place, all the gates work smoothly. I would definitely use their service again!! read more

Friendly, helpful service that made our work of moving easier

Corporate American must stop pesky practices to increase revenue, using every trick in the book to lure the "shoppers" in coughing out more and more money. No, it will not add to the betterment of the experience. I talked to the reservationist on the phone, and he failed to mention that I MUST have my own lock at the time of signing a contract. Additionally, it is just ridiculous to demand people to have a lock at the time of signing or they must pay 5 times more for a lousy lock. Also, don't shove the stupid worthless insurance on people. Why should I pay you $15 for $5000 insurance without having the time to read the policy and when I am storing over $40,000 worth of stuff. What does that stupid $5000 insurance even mean? After being strong armed in buying a lock, I was not going to allow that to happen with the insurance, and I was about to walk away from the whole thing, had the manager not finally 'fessed up to the fact that I could deny the insurance. STOP THIS NONSENSE CORPORATE AMERICA. U-HAUL IS DOING THE SAME THING THESE DAYS. read more

I am not usually one to write reviews, but what happened to us at Public Storage in Bellevue was unbearable and I sincerely hope I can prevent this from happening to anyone else. Our family has been renting a storage unit since 2000. We got there today to get some things out of the storage unit and we noticed a smell. After moving the stuff out of unit (we have ALWAYS kept our unit nice and tidy) we noticed over half our unit had HUMAN PEE all over it, which looked like it came from the unit above ours. After calling down to the office, the staff member came up and confirmed it was human pee and admitted that sometimes homeless people rent units out, but there was nothing she could do. We would need to call our home owners insurance to cover the damage and left us to clean up the mess. That's when my sister and myself were completely shocked and upset we realized we had to get most of the stuff out of the PEE covered boxes and plastics tubs. That's when I went back to the office and asked for boxes (since they admitted it was due to a homeless person using a unit as a bathroom ) I was informed even after she called her manager that I would have to pay for the boxes and my home owners insurance would pay me back. I would just like to point out that home owners insurance will pay for fire, flood and thief, but not pee. Half the stuff in our unit which had a coke cola collection , Nice wood furniture, vintage Barbies, and more is ruin by pee from another unit. I thought my family had been paying for a "secure" storage unit this whole time. We learned the hard way that's not the case. I really hope everyone who reads this will think twice before using a Public Storage facility, they wouldn't even give us a box or offer to help in any way after being customers for over 13 years. read more

The check in went great. I appreciated the agent's friendliness (sorry I forgot your name). Unfortunately, our experience moving things in hasn't been that positive. There are supposed to be trollies to help with your stuff; but at 5PM on a Saturday, none could be found. I checked every floor. Also, the elevation was very dirty. Apparently, someone had been moving in leaky bags of sand or whatever and the elevator floor was covered. No one else was moving in or out so the trolley should have been there unless the guy moving the sand just pushed it into his unit so he didn't have to unload. We had been there earlier that day and the agent saw the problem but the sand was still there 6 hours later when we went to move. This is a real problem when you don't have a trolley. I am hoping things get better in the future. read more
