I talked to them about it and their 'solution' was to go through the hassle of moving to a unit literally next door and open a new account. The 'manager' was pretty rude and acknowledged that the Public Storage business model is just to constantly keep raising the rates - assuming that the renter will not go through the effort of moving. TERIBBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! No one ever answers the phone or is in the office. The handle on the unit was broken from the beginning, garage door had to be propped up to stay open, everything inside must be covered or will be completely filthy. Needless to say - we moved to a locally owned facility who has agreed to lock in our rate.

You have to go through the system to decline the insurance and you have to come in he office of the storage building to get your turn in the lock they provide and get a refund. Everything, including our piano, was packed by Zippy Shell and transported to Minnesota. Once in Minnesota, I'm told Zippy Shell can't move our belongings into our home, including the piano, because it is a specialty item. I have also learned that Zippy Shell in Burnsville subcontracts out their deliveries and moving to third party's. Zippy Shell's solution, after over a week delay in delivery, is for ME to hire another moving company to move our belongings the final 20 miles to our home.
