Not as busy on a Friday night around 7:30pm. This is certainly a nicer restaurant with a good selection. Shrimp & Grits was awesome. The shrimp was cooked well, while the grits and everything complemented it well. I also got the Mac & Cheese with lobster added into it. It tasted great, I just wish everything was mixed through evenly. A lot of the cheese and lobster were pretty concentrated in the bottom. Had to do a little mixing, but I still enjoyed it overall. read more

Decided to have dinner here after 8 hour drive. Turned out to be a really good decision. Salads (both wedge and spinach with chicken breast added) we ate were very good. I had the butternut squash chili soup, my husband the potato both being excellent. Loved the butterscotch creme brûlée we ate for dessert. Service was the best. Will definitely come back on our next trip thru Amarillo. read more

Cute place. Easy location. 3 stars. The service was okay, not the best. Food was good but not great. I got the 1/2 hoagie sandwich and soup of the day. Was very tasty! Can not complain about the food. The soup couldve had some more seasoning. But I would go again. read more

Great food, great atmosphere. Wine list is so pricey I knocked down the 5 stars to a 4. Reslly bad pricing! The fish is always excellent. Even though you are in the panhandle of Texas. Hamachi (hawaiian Kompachi), Snappers of many varieties, beautiful wild salmon and U8's. The elk portion is tiny, and expensive. Would not recommend. The beef soup was incredible. Ahi ceviche w avocado was perfect. read more

A great Amarillo restaurant. Came here for dinner once before and loved the experience. We loved the fried cheese curds! My bacon-wrapped chicken was very tasty and our cocktails were original and wonderful. I came back a few months later for lunch. I had the soup of the day and it was much better than I could make at home, which is saying something. I was able to work in the bar on my laptop for a couple of hours and someone was always coming by to check on me. read more

Steak was very tasty. Sides were cold. Service was good. Waiters didn't seem too concerned.

We went here for a Sunday Brunch and got there early so no problem parking or being seated. Atmosphere is business casual, and romantic which would be great for a date night. Our waiter Bryson was super with excellent service. I had the Omelette and my spouse had the Eggs Benedict both were good. Portions were decent size and prices reasonable. In the main dining area above the bar the TV played old movies such as Casablanca. This brought us back in time when we were in Casablanca. Parking is available on the street in front. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a brunch or romantic night dinner. read more

We came here to have a couple of drinks and an appetizer and check it out as I had a few coworkers say that the food here was good as well as the ambiance. It is very nice on the inside, there is a lounge area and the bar area is large. The dining area also appeared nice, with a large selection of wines in the middle. It was fairly crowded for a mid-week day, I guess there are not many higher end places to take people if you are on a business dinner so this place might do good on that alone. They also have wine on tap as the Crush Wine bar downtown, it is a bit pricier though. I wanted to get a glass of wine but didn't feel like I needed to pay between $11-14 for a glass of wine. So they had $2 beer as the special, we got that. The waitress was brand new and didn't know anything about beer or what was on the menu, we asked her what the beer special tasted like and the bartender drank it and had her describe it for us. It actually was a good description, but just a general weird way to approach that instead of just giving us a sample. The menu LOOKS good (aside from the $60 rib eye...really!) and the appetizers sounded varied and yummy....so we got the sesame crusted oysters with a miso marinade. What we got was some deep fried oysters, with a large amount of batter and a tangy vinaigrette for dipping. We couldn't even finish eating it, I wanted to try a few more items on the menu but after getting that disaster, we decided to pay the bill and leave. The hostesses at the front were too busy on their cell phones gossiping to say goodbye and thank us for visiting...that really left a bad parting impression. So, I think that if there were better training for the staff as well as maybe getting the menu a bit up to par with their prices then I would try it again and update my review as I understand there are growing pains with a new establishment but I will probably not be rushing to try this place out again for a little while. read more

Interesting menu. Food was pretty good. Ordered lamb lollipops medium rare. They were a bit over cooked - there was no pink at all. They still tasted good, but I prefer medium rare. The avocado and quinoa salad was very good. The St. Louis goey cake for dessert was also good. The restaurant is adorable inside. It looks fairly plain from the outside, but is quite attractive inside. read more

One of the best meals I have had in Amarillo. I went on opening night, the service was good, as you would would expect on opening night. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the chicken fried steak and a wilted greens salad. The salad was simple but amazing and the chicken fried steak was the best I had ever had. That's saying something, I was born in Texas and have eaten chicken fried steak my entire life. My mother got the filet... Just astonishing as well. So tended you could cut it with a fork (literary) My father had the salmon, he said it was the best he has had, I have to take his word for it since I don't do sea meat. There was a fantastic selection of wines to choose from. I had great small batch Cabernet. Over all a pleasant experience, I will be going back soon!! read more

Very consistent and Pure Quality every time! Simply a wonderful time! Will be back for sure with friends and family!

My family was headed home from vacation and stopped at Public House in Amarillo Tx for a nice meal and relax for a bit b4 we finshed our trip home. The food didnt disappoint us it was delicious The service, on the other hand, was horrible. The waiter never came and refilled my husbands tea glass. They almost didnt let us eat there cuz, they said, there were to many reservations but when we looked around plenty of tables were empty and the whole time we were there tables remained empty. They charged us over twice what we owed and when the waiter came back with the correction all he said was, "thank you". mayb that is why they only have 3 stars. read more

This is a great place to bring a client for lunch. The food is delicious! The service is very prompt and polite. The ambience is good for a lunch setting, but the best time to experience the full effect is after 5 PM. The mood definitely changes and the atmosphere has such a good vibe. read more

This is such a great place to go to for something different in Amarillo. Especially if you are on a date. It's more high class and intimate.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant and it was amazing! The wait was a bit long but the entrees were spot on! Every plate in the table was wiped clean by the end of the meal and the table of 5 was all satisfied. read more

Been here a few times when in Amarillo, always great food, and good drinks. Will be back

Dropped in for dinner while I was in town for business. I ordered the lamb chop lollipops and a cup of prime rib mushroom soup. They were delicious! I also order a raspberry mojito prepared with fresh ingredients and I had the caramel cappuccino cream brûlée. I was extremely impressed with everything and I can't wait to be back in town to drop in again. read more

The Public House is a five star experience. It's a upscale restaurant where you can go and have fun. Lot's of laughing and loud talking going on. I'm sure the drinks have a little to do with that. Upon entering the Public House you are greeted by nice hostesses who show you to your table. Service is prompt and friendly. The waiter listed the specials that the restaurant had that day. After ordering my meal I had a couple of managers come and introduce themselves to me and let me know they were available to make my experience perfect. The restaurant advertises as comfort food. I have to say that it's high end comfort food. It's what you would expect from a dish but much better. There are many areas to this restaurant. I was looking up at the second level where the bar is and I could see a humongous tv. There were lot's of people in there having fun. There are private dining areas and open public places. Overall the restaurant is very comfortable. My meal was perfect and I took home with me a Pimento Sandwich to have the next day. They were nice enough to seperate all the ingredients for me so the bread wouldn't get soggy. I really appreciated that. And I'm just saying that this is house made pimento cheese and I am looking forward to lunch tomorrow. There were so many other meals I would like to try. I'll just have to come back. I also want to add that the dress can go from casual to dressy. read more

Great food, drinks & service. Was very comfortable dining in with their COVID protocols.

Great food and service I love going here you always feel like you're at home Crab Cake Benedict

Love Public House! Great food, service, and ambiance! It's our go to restaurant. They also have great drinks!

A friend and I stopped for lunch at the Public House on a Saturday afternoon. We each had a Reuben with sweet potato fries, and a glass of wine. It was all delicious! The quiet atmosphere was great! read more

We stopped in after 6 hours on the road. Everyone was pleasant, the atmosphere was relaxing, the food & drinks were excellent. We each had a wedge salad & shared the Angus cheeseburger. It was fresh, cooked exactly as requested. It was National Margarita Day and they had prepared a Strawberry & Serrano Margarita. Perfect ratio of sweet & spicy. My wife enjoyed the aromatics of a craft bourbon drink with smoked cardamon & cinnamon. Another fun event was watching them create an old fashion table-side for someone's birthday. Definitely making sure to return here on our next travels. read more

In the three weeks I've been in Amarillo, I have already been here four times. The drinks here are PHENOMENAL. Their cocktails are a work of art, and it is clear the bartenders are meticulous about each ingredient and technique. Their truffle fries are delicious, and the portion size was huge!! My friends really enjoyed the dishes they ordered as well. read more

Wonderful date night place! Linen tablecloths, dim lighting, not too bright. Relaxing place with great food. Good service too. Can't wait to go back. read more

We found this place through Yelp while passing through town. Brian and Josh took care of us and their service was 10 Stars!! They made delicious drinks and the food..... OMG, the food!! Mac n cheese with crab was on point. The ham and Brie sammich was a bit sweet, but so delish. We also got a side salad and it was also tasty. We left feeling great because we were treated well, we had flavorful drinks, and the food was oh so tasty. I wish they had this place in Dallas. They'd make a killing. read more

Great brunch and lunch spot. Excellent food and service. Haven't tried dinner but will in the near future.

Food was really good. Ambience was good loved the low lighting. Service was mediocre, our waitress that we was told was the best did not pay much attention to us. read more

I don't know if they were having a bad day or I am list used to Dallas brunch places, but my experience here was subpar. We waited for 30 minutes, which is not unusual for Sunday brunch. Our server had a full section, though we were prepared a knew what we wanted. He brought all the food ordered but forgot the other condiments that normally go with the food ordered (i.e. setup, cream and sugar). The food was good, I had no complaints about my pancakes nor did anyone else about their food. The coffee was a bit burnt and I would probably not order it again. All in all, the service was lacking a bit and the food was good. I woud give it a 3.5/5, probably will visit again. read more

Great restaurant for date night while passing through Amarillo. Incredible food, atmosphere, and staff. Highly recommend the elk!

This is my favorite brunch place in Amarillo. There's never a wait on the Sundays that we go (mind you I've always gone with a small party though) and the staff was very polite and accommodating. If you like crab try the Crab Cake Benedict. It has a hint of jalapeño in it but overall a very mild spice level. The regular Eggs Benedict is also fantastic if you prefer ham. Definitely one of the more upscale places in Amarillo and great for bringing friends in for mimosas. read more

We came here because my cousin loves this place. He was so embarrassed and apologetic for the lack of service and lack of food. We were seated and our drink order taken. 20 minutes later no tea and no waiter. After another 10-15 minutes we were approached again for a drink order and told there was a miscommunication and we were apologized to... another server returned and took our appetizer order.... by this time I am quite irritated as we are the only ones in our area and we had already been in the restaurant for an hour.... staff seemed to be edging us out. 50.00 for 2 drinks, a tea, and an appetizer. I can honestly say I was hoping to love the place with all the hype from my family here in Amarillo. read more

Really cool spot to have a few drinks and enjoy some good food. They even have a brunch menu as well. I've only been here twice but I know I'll be back many more times. They do have a happy hour and their drinks are delicious. Try one of their in house aged cocktails. The mac and cheese was delicious. I also had shrimp and grits which was amazing. It came with goat cheese grits and the shrimp were pretty big. I also had their cubano. While the cubano wasn't a ttadional Cuban sandwich it was still amazing. The secret ingredient must be the bacon. read more

WE had lunch there yesterday, there were three of us and we ate lunch salad's with steak. I was amazed that the romine lettuce was wilted and we got a very small three pieces of steak. I brought two guests to meet each other and did not say it to them but I was embarrassed with the lack of quality food. We did have desert (however it took easily one half hour to get it) I was ready to cancel. My husband and I eat there and have always had good food food. But yesterday cost 100.00 with tip and was very disappointing. read more

This place was neither amazing or terrible. I had the pork chop which was actually pretty good. I substituted the grits for the Mac and cheese and was up charged (which I wasn't aware of until the check came) and the Mac and cheese was nothing special. It was actually quite bland. The others I was with had the ribeye and the filet. Neither were cooked to the requested temperatures and neither of my friends seemed to overly enjoy the meal. We finished with the donut bread pudding which was quite underwhelming. It just tasted like warmed up donut holes. This place has the potential to be a great restaurant for Amarillo and had a nice ambiance however I think the food isn't quite there yet. read more

It's nice to finally see a restaurant in Amarillo with an appetizing brunch menu. The building itself is very nice, filled with wonderful art pieces. I believe it used to be a Tex-mex place a year or so ago. They've made a nice little private room in the corner where our party of 10 sat with reservations. Like I mentioned, the brunch menu is great - breakfast enchiladas, eggs Benedict, fried steak and eggs. Brunch drink menu sounds just as awesome. I had my eye on the yellow belly breakfast, but didn't get a chance to order one. read more
