Stopped in here to have my car tested for smog. It was fast and efficient, and everybody was so kind and helpful and patient. So friendly I'm definitely coming back again for any repairs.. Very honorable people and very calm and understanding. Really a great place to go and that's speaking from a woman who does not have a lot of support when it comes to fixing cars and often feels unsure about smaller establishments. I absolutely hate that time of year when it's time to do a smog check. Well I'm glad I finally found my spot! Paul was very friendly and knowledgeable! He was able to do the smog check quickly and I was on my way. Friendly neighborhood service! The sign for the place is a bit hard to find. But there are two entrances. One off of Anaheim adjacent to Casa Moreno restaurant. And an entrance off of Stanley Ave where other mechanic shops are available. read more

All the reviews are true-- in and out in less than 10 minutes! I called ahead on a Monday morning in case there would be a long wait time. Paul picked up my call & notified me that it was a good time to go in. He also gave me a tip to look out for a 76 gas station because the shop is across the street! I arrived and there was no wait! I called around to find a local smog place. Read the reviews here on yelp and knew I had to go to Paul. I called before heading over to make sure he had time to check my car. No problem, so I drove right over. I was done in ten minutes! It's always great to support a local business with an owner that grew up in LBC. read more

Fast, friendly, no BS. In and out quickly. It's a bit difficult to find because it's in the corner spot, across the gas station and next to a bodyshop and repair shop. I really dread smoging my car but I'm glad I went to PT smog. I called Paul for an appointment for two cars and he was so quick and efficient ---I was out of there in less than 15 mins. Hate to do this but i felt i needed to leave a review mostly because NOT A SINGLE PERSON WAS WEARING A MASK even though they had "No mask no service" signs! Such a bummer because Paul was nice, but none of the 6 or so shop guys were wearing masks and Paul even shook my hand which makes me feel uneasy when it's someone who doesn't wear a mask and is around customers constantly. Additionally, they charged me $75 for a smog test which is definitely on the higher end. The only reason I'm not just giving 1 star is because Paul was nice & the service was pretty quick-no wait time and nobody was there around 5pm. read more

If you're reading this, I advise stop calling around and just go here. Smog check is the same where ever you go, so if you're reading reviews you're probably like me--calling around to find the best price. I called the other top rated smog places in the area: this was the cheapest, friendiest, and easiest. Use the check-in offer for $40 straight, out the door. The employee who helped me was super nice, seemed knowledgable, friendly and respectful of others' time. Test was done super quick, results were electronically sent to DMV. This was Yelp review worthy. Only issue was they didn't have their credit card system up yet, so BRING CASH. Otherwise you'll have to pay the $3 atm fee at the 76 across the street. Cash is worth it though, straight $40 even. read more

Great place to go to get your required SMOG test done, if you live near downtown LBC. Like getting…read moredocuments notarized, the process is heavily regulated by the state, but unlike a notary, it looks like a SMOG testing center can charge what they want. So the $40 out the door (including the mandatory $8.25 fee for the certificate) is a great price. I actually found a coupon from smogtips.com for $29.95 for this space, but once you add in the extras, it came out the same...so the tech didn't even take it. The $40 is listed clearly, and it seems like it would be the same for minivans and small SUVs as well (other places seem to have extra surcharges for that). Like others said, it's easy to drive in if you are next, but if somebody is getting tested, you would need to drive into the auto repair shop driveway right after and walk back to the garage to get in line. You can only enter going South on Long Beach Blvd (since Long Beach Blvd is a divided road). There is a small waiting room with a TV showing a local station. Once our car got hooked up, it took about 15 minutes to complete. They take credit cards, and will give you a computerized Vehicle Inspection Report. Now I just need to wait for the electronic submission to be recorded at the DMV, so I can renew my registration on-line. Conclusion: the price is good, and quick once you get started. We'll come back to this place in 2 years.

Yelp was correct: their $40 price is on the low end of standard (they have a coupon on their website, but turns out I didn't actually need it to get that price), the guy working there (who I think may have also been the owner) was super friendly, and I was in and out in 10 minutes. My only complaint: they really need a better sign directing traffic - they have a big sign out in front, that points into their one-car garage, so if someone else is already getting a smog check (as was the case when I got there), it is completely non-obvious where to go. You actually turn into the following drive-way, which looks like it leads into a car-wash, and then park around the back of the building. Their sign out front really needs to tell people that. Once I figured out where I was going, though, super quick and easy.

Really friendly service and only charged $40. I called other places and they would charge $60+ by far one of the lowest prices out there. I would highly recommend this place and will be coming back every time. read more

Paul is the man, I won't take my cars anywhere else. No need to call around Paul is the Cheapest smog in Long Beach! Just make sure to bring cash! Go to PT smog and Paul will take care of you. read more

Great service. Smog check took less than 10 minutes , super friendly and easy to talk to. Had a cool collection of classic cars as well and they're open on Sundays which is a plus. read more
