Well, well, two years past in a wink of time! Here we go again and again I'm running late on my registration for my ol. Saturn 2000 aka "Forest! Run, Forrest, run!" Even though I had a great experience last time I still get anxious anytime an auto problem arises. Thank you thank this business! Small, but steady with plenty of shady sitting area. There were a Latino couple, a sister and me, white but used to a nice mix of nationalities! RC Hi-Tech checks all the boxes. We calmly sat together as one by one I watched the happy folk before me smile as that paid for their smog check, obviously all passed--no price hikes like an added catalytic converter or even a spark plug and that's it! Took my car here about a month ago after having some transmission issues. I was shown where my transmission was leaking and they replaced a seal on my transmission. I had my car back to me hours earlier than anticipated and the price was very reasonable. My car is back to normal and running great. The friendly shop dogs are a plus too! read more

Jonathan at RC Hi-Tech took very good care of us. These are mechanics who really do the work. Honesty is hard to find in a-lot of mechanics. They also have the CAP program where the state helps to pay for any smog related repairs. The shop is very clean and very professional. Nice shaded waiting area as well. I went in yesterday afternoon to get a smog test. I thought about using another place that offered coupons but on second thought I was wondering if it was a bait and switch kind of deal. Anyhow Jonathan at RC was great and quickly took my vehicle in and told me that the fee was $60 which included the state filing. Some places will only tell you THEIR fee and then surprise you with the state filing fee. Don't get taken! I was in and out about 20 minutes. Comfortable seating outside. Excellent, friendly service! Car failed first smog check because the battery had died earlier in the morning (had to get a jump start to get to the smog check) and apparently that wipes the memory! Technician told me to drive for about 100 miles and come back for re-check. Did that and went back 20 minutes to closing time. I really don't want to write this but I need to warn you guys. I came for something on the inside of my car and left with a problem on the outside! I went to this place on a Saturday out of convenience because I didn't want to drive to my trusted mechanic who was far away from Long Beach. I came for a smog check and also had my engine light on. Jonathan, ran an assessment using a device to determine what error codes the car had. He immediately suggested I replace the oxygen sensor. I agreed and asked if I could leave my car and that I would pick it up a few days later when the parts and repair was completed. The pickup was scheduled for Wednesday. I get a voicemail on Monday (a few days later) asking me to pick up my car because the repair was done. I paid about 180.00 and left with my car because I still had to drive it 60 miles before I did my smog test. I pulled over my car in an empty parking lot about a mile later to try to enter a food market. The store was closed so I walked to my car and saw damage to the right rear side of my bumper. I called Jonathan and let him tell the story without telling him what I saw. He said he forgot to tell me that two crackheads had a fight in his business and fell on my car. He even knew what side they fell on. He admitted it happed in his lot but said that it's not on the business. He even suggested that it may not have even happened at that shop but still admitted seeing them fall on the car. If you create an order and take someone's car, you are fully responsible!!! Long story short I end up going to my mechanic who was far away and he tells me that replacing that part was unnecessary and that a better assessment should have been done. If y'all like to get shafted then go ahead. I'm a reasonable person but y'all got it twisted if you think this place is legit. If anything, they need to open a criminal investigation on this place. It's a trip because all these good reviews had me coming here all positive. read more

If your looking for a honest trustworthy mechanic shop come here!!! I came across RC High tech due to my radiator hose rupturing on my way home and they were the closes to me. As soon as I pulled in Jonathan attended to me and had my car fixed within an hr and a half. For YEARS my AC would smell like fumes whenever I would turn it on. I've been to over 5 shops to try to fix the problem and it always ended the same "I don't smell nothing your car is fine". Since I was already there due to my radiator problem I thought I'd give it another try to see if they can figure out what's going on with my AC. Without hesitation Jonathan and his dad checked it out and were able to diagnosis the problem!! It was my exhaust, and from what they told me it was cracked! Jonathan scheduled me that following Friday and fixed it! Not only does my AC not smell like fumes my car sounds brand new!! As soon as I dropped off my car Jonathan also offered to have me dropped off by his dad, the drive was a 20 min drive but he didn't hesitate and still offered to have his dad take me home. As a woman I know we get taken advantage of due to the fact a lot of us don't know much about cars.
