As a couple of other reviews have said, sadly the service at Joe's Auto has declined recently. I have been coming here for all my vehicles servicing since we moved to the area about 5 years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My first time here I had a great chat with Joe and every time I visited since he remembered where I was from and asked how our other vehicle was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]His son, Adam, was equally friendly and ran the shop really efficiently always taking the time to explain diagnosis, recommendations and show us parts that were replaced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now, there is a gentlemen running the front desk called Augustine and all this has changed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our vehicle was back in the shop for an on-going check engine light related to a leak in the evap system, Augustine called me to tell me they had diagnosed 3 separate sensors that were all faulty and needed replacing. 2 of these had already been replaced by this shop last year when this engine code first started. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked him to explain the 3rd sensor to me he was either unwilling to or unable to, I asked because it sounded very similar in name to one of the others and wanted to verify which one had already been replaced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up having the other 2 replaced under warranty and plan to find another shop for our repair needs now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Additionally, when Augustine called me to let me know my vehicle was ready I asked what time they closed. He told me 4:30pm (despite their advertised hours saying 5:00pm)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I left work early to drive my wife to the shop to collect the car, arriving at 4:25pm only for the shop to be locked up and no one there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked Augustine about this the following say he said he thought I would probably be coming the following day and "it was getting late".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if it would be possible to speak with Adam and he told me that Adam doesn't work there anymore.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked whether the shop had changed hands and he insisted that Joe is still in charge, although when I asked when it would be possible to talk to Joe I was told that he wasn't available and he just "randomly drops in".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm sorry to see the customer service and professionalism decline at this shop but having older vehicles, we have to trust that the the mechanics working on our vehicles and the shops we take them to are giving us all the information and the correct information. I hate having to write this review, but I feel I have no choice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been bringing my vehicles to Joe's Auto for years. I've trusted them with my family's cars, my previous vehicle, and most recently my Nissan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When my check engine light came on, there was no question where I would take it. After diagnosing the vehicle, I received a call from one of the newer staff members informing me that I needed a spark plug kit and a fuel injector, with an estimated cost of around $1,200. I declined the fuel injector repair, yet still paid over $1,100 for the work that was completed. Unfortunately, about a week later, the check engine light came back on. I brought the vehicle back, but I never received a clear explanation as to why the light had returned. I left believing the issue had been resolved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then, on June 17, the check engine light came on again. I immediately called Joe's Auto. Instead of asking me to bring the vehicle in right away, I was told to bring it in the following day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After spending over $1,100 on repairs that apparently did not fix the problem, I expected a greater sense of urgency and concern. Because I no longer felt confident that the issue was being taken seriously, I took my vehicle to the dealership and paid additional money to have the problem addressed. I called Joe's Auto to let them know what had happened, but the response was disappointing. The only explanation I received was that the parts were under warranty and that I should have brought the vehicle back in. I understand that parts can be under warranty, but after multiple visits and the same problem continuing to occur, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I expected some level of accountability, concern, or even an offer to work with me toward a resolution. Instead, I felt dismissed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been a loyal customer for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I've been a customer at Joe's Auto for over 10 years, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]my recent visit was disappointing. Joe and his wife were not running the shop this time; it was someone new, and that change has removed what once kept me coming back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was charged $150 for a routine oil change--nearly double what I've paid in the past--and a tire rotation was not done. I was also told my rear tires were bad and needed replacement, but they were later checked by a trustworthy person and confirmed to be in very good condition. The honesty and trustworthiness that defined this place are gone. Based on this experience, I won't be returning. read more

Today I suffered the last of many issues of my dying vehicle. I knew it was coming; my Subaru SUV coughed its last breath this afternoon. Over the past two years, Joe's Auto Center went FAR above and beyond their contractual agreement, time and time again, to keep my aging vehicle running far beyond its expected lifespan. As many times before, Joe's AC had a chance to take advantage of me and charge me for any number of reasons that they would have been contractually grounded in charging me, but they took the high road...again, something that only a reputable business that values integrity over profit would do. I've been coming to Joe's Auto Center for about 2yrs because it used to feel like an honest, fair, and welcoming place to get car work done. I recently paid $143.40 for an oil change on a 2016 chevy colorado, i was quoted $240 for a coolant flush and $633 for a transmission filter, gasket, and fluid change. There's a new person running things and it seems like prices have gone up, and the quotes and services don't feel as honest as they used to. I checked my tire pressure and the numbers were exactly as when I dropped off the vehicle which makes me think they are not properly doing the job. It doesn't feel honest anymore and prices seem too high for me to continue with their services. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's unfortunate because I genuinely like supporting mom-and-pop shops, and this used to feel like home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called in Monday June 2nd and explained about the issue my car was having to the guy on the phone - he told me to bring it in the next day in the morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had also asked if Joe was going to be there since I'd love to say hello to him since being gone, and he said he just comes when he wants. Okay then. So I show up on Tuesday morning and the guy at the counter explains he has no openings until Friday morning at 8am. Very frustrating since I had already taken Tuesday off of work. So I said okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came back again Friday morning at 8am, explained again what was wrong with my car and he cuts me off and said he has no time to get me in that day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I explained I had now taken two days off of work to come to these appointments that they gave me. He said he had a mechanic call out and what was he supposed to do. There was no apology, no mention of trying to get me in, nothing about openings next week. I have been a dedicated customer of Joes auto on wardlow for over 4 years now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Joe has always been kind, helpful and honest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now that FRANCIS is running the place i am so disgusted by how i was treated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came in to get an inspection and he told me it would be 200. told him i would come back when they opened and when i did, he told me he could not help me!!! back story: i came in 4 months ago and paid 150 to see what was wrong with my driver side window and why it wouldn't roll down. after the inspection, FRANCIS told me i needed a new switch. they replaced it and it still did not work. they apply the inspection fee to the service and since i also got an oil change, i didn't owe anything. in fact, they owed me change but that was irrelevant to me. come back this morning to pay the new 200 inspection fee so he can continue to check my window, oil change and to find out why my car dies when i turn the air on. he REFUSED to serve me. he said my car is too old (2003) and he did not want to work on it. i was shocked! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We called in advance to let them know our car had been recovered after it was stolen and that we would like to send it over to be fixed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They asked us to clean it out before we get it towed there (even though AAA told us the auto shop should take care of that). After cleaning it out then dropping it off, the next day they called and said "We don't know what's wrong with the car and you should take it to the dealer" After pressing for more answers, he finally admitted, "we don't want to work on it." I paid $154 to have my car checked out at Joe's before a long road trip. When I got in the car to come home, my car wouldn't start and a warning came on saying "Maintenance Required". I had to have my battery jumped and managed to make it home. I took the car back to Joe's and explained what happened. They reset the computer so the warning disappeared but soon afterward the battery died and AAA had to replace it at an exorbitant sum. I have had no other problems since then, which leads me to believe the battery was on its way out when I started my road trip. I would think this should have been detected when I took my car in the first time. read more

My uncle had suggested I bring my car into joes and I'm glad I did. They found out it was something wrong with my coolant thermostat. my husband brought my car here for an oil leak. We were happy that they were able to fix it fast and even added oil change for an extra fee. When we got the car back, we noticed that the leak has not stopped. My husband brought the car back in but this time they said, something else was causing the leak and it will cost another $3100 plus. It makes me wonder, did they even try to fix the problem in the first place? I recommeded this place to my dad since they were fast but I'm going to have to warn him instead not to trust this place. What a waste of money, the 2 year warranty is a joke if they're just going to turn around and say the problem is something else when they didnt fix the problem to begin with. read more

I was heading to Gall's next door and remembered that there was an auto mechanic center (Joe's) next door. PERFECT! I had a small nail in my tire (no leak) for about a week now and I thought I'd walk in and check if they fixed tires and patched/plugged them up also. The person (possibly the manager) up front was very welcoming. He was very service oriented and had me pull my car to the back. He mentioned that he'd have a mechanic take a look without a charge (what...did I hear wrong?). After it was all said and done, the mechanic (also nice) said the nail didn't puncture all the way through (I had new tires with long threads). No charge by Joe's for pulling the nail out of the tire, no charge on 10 mins worth of labor and no charge for filling air into the tire and reinstalling it for me. I didn't know FREE service still existed anymore. Joe's you're a 5-star shop in my books, you've won me over as a new customer! Thanks! read more

Top notch customer service. Treated with grace, and I left very satisfied. Came in because my car was making weird noises and fortunately I was helped by very knowledgeable staff. Pointed out the problem and advised me to treat my car with such and such. Very useful information provided, thought that was very sweet of them to take the time to tell me how to prevent this particular problem from occurring again. Charged me with a cheap diagnostics check rate and thought I got the best out of it. Most definitely will come back here, as I trust these people with my car. Highly highly recommend. read more
