I been coming here for the longest. Honest person. I came here with my 99 jeep. He told me what was causing it to fail the smog check. It was the catalytic converter. Since my car had no check engine light and everything else was fine. He recommended that I insure the muffler place install only California approved catalytic converter. I did so and it passed smog. I just hope it passes the first time. You will have one opportunity for a retest if it fails. You will have to take it somewhere else to be repaired and then bring it back for your retest. What a wonderful experience! After failing my smog check at another place nearby (due to error code related to having recently changed my battery), I was told that I needed work done in excess of $900. I had a bad feeling about that and came to this shop for a second opinion. The owner of Auto Smog Test Only checked and confirmed my error code for free and told me all I needed to do was a "drive cycle". He told me how to find directions for it online and suggested I return for a recheck after I was done. Again, he did not charge me for any of this. I did exactly as he told me to do and returned for a recheck. Lo and behold, the error code was cleared and I passed the smog check! I am so very grateful for this man's honesty and helpfulness. I will be returning here for all future smog checks and highly recommend that you do the same! read more

Call for pricing! Went in cause a friend recommended this clown to us, paid $60! Apparently I shouldn't have trusted such friend, and done some homework beforehand. Most other places charge around $30, and you can even find places as low as $26 with a coupon. The next day I was frustrated so before work I called and asked pricing on my make and model, only $50! Just a typical hustler charging as much as he can when you don't ask for a price up-front. Zero stars. read more

I needed to get my car smogged, but my awesome mechanic Larry's Auto doesn't perform smog tests...yet. Larry said they refer all their customers to Auto Smog Test Only. I called for a price quote ($60 for my 99 Camry, which is lower than most smog stations in the greater LB area) & asked if I could bring my car in at 4:30 or if that would be too late in the day. The two who run this place are always very nice and avoid bothering you or wasting any time but don't rush you at all either and they even have a small seating area right next to the test itself with some magazines and such. I always get stressed out when I see the registration arrive in the mail demanding a smog check purely due to worrying about the process of getting it done even though my vehicle has no issue passing. However, ever since I started coming here that goes away once I pull in. The price is reasonable, the test itself is quick, and it's one of the only car-related experiences that isn't horrible. read more

What a ripoff!!!! HEAN LOCK could not smog my truck because I just changed the battery. Said to come back after 50 miles so it could reset. Come back and he is closed and then closed for New Years! He says the rules have changed for 2013. Now he says he can't do it because he is not STAR certified and WILL NOT refund the $50 so I can use it at another place! Don't ever go here, he will take your money and run. read more
