My dad recommended this place to me since the place I usually go to is in another area. Smog service was great and very quick. Only 10 minutes. Right across from Sconeage Bakery and next to Bartha's Donuts. Andy also notified me that I needed to go to a dealership because one of my car parts had a recall on it. All-Star Smog deserves its name because it saved the day with fast and easy smog service! I went ahead and called them for a smog test and drove in their driveway. It was a garage drive-in, and the employee asked me some questions and performed the test. I was there for a maximum of 10-15 minutes. Sent me away saying my car wouldn't pass. Never even touched my car. I've never failed a smog test. I don't know if he didn't want to provide service to me or what the deal was. Drove a few blocks over and got my smog check completed, for a great value. It passed. I wouldn't return here again. I don't understand why this gentleman wouldn't even look at my vehicle. I told him the model year, and he asked if any engine lights were on and if so, it won't pass and that I would waste my money letting him test it. Got a smog test for my Toyota Avalon 1999. Costed me $90 which is a bit much. The test was quick, 5-10 minutes. I waited in their lobby. Their lobby could use a renovation. I worry for older people who will just be sitting on old car seats. The worker was really kind. Made some friendly conversation. Not a bad place to go but if you have an older car, I'd recommend getting a quote before from multiple smog test locations. read more

This spot is quick (I was in and out in less than 10 minutes), STAR-certified, easy to enter / exit (off an intersection, so you can come in from two cross streets), reasonably-priced ($60 for a 2007 Corolla), and had a chair outside to wait in the interim. Ok, I don't review places very often but I think this review is warranted. I came for a smog check about a week ago based on the great reviews for this location, all of which quoted about $60 for a smog check ($60 seems to be standard price around town). I was able to get my vehicle checked right away, however i was told that my vehicle in particular would cost $80 to perform the smog check. I am not going to identify my vehicle, but there is nothing so different about my vehicle that would cause a smog check to be any more difficult. Whatever the situation is, price increases or otherwise, I would not recommend this business, $80 for a smog check is ridiculous. read more

Why?...Because they are incredibly fast, friendly, and affordable. I've never set an appointment and have been in and out of there in 20 minutes or less.
