Sent me away saying my car wouldn't pass. Never even touched my car. I've never failed a smog test. I don't know if he didn't want to provide service to me or what the deal was. Drove a few blocks over and got my smog check completed, for a great value. It passed. I wouldn't return here again. I don't understand why this gentleman wouldn't even look at my vehicle. I told him the model year, and he asked if any engine lights were on and if so, it won't pass and that I would waste my money letting him test it. I guess that was thoughtful, but like I said, went right down the street to the next nearest star station, & I passed. So.... ?‍ read more

Got a smog test for my Toyota Avalon 1999. Costed me $90 which is a bit much. The test was quick, 5-10 minutes. I waited in their lobby. Their lobby could use a renovation. I worry for older people who will just be sitting on old car seats. The worker was really kind. Made some friendly conversation. Not a bad place to go but if you have an older car, I'd recommend getting a quote before from multiple smog test locations. read more

This spot is quick (I was in and out in less than 10 minutes), STAR-certified, easy to enter / exit (off an intersection, so you can come in from two cross streets), reasonably-priced ($60 for a 2007 Corolla), and had a chair outside to wait in the interim. Had friendly service and was very efficient. All you can ask for. Will return for next smog check if in the area. read more

Ok, I don't review places very often but I think this review is warranted. I came for a smog check about a week ago based on the great reviews for this location, all of which quoted about $60 for a smog check ($60 seems to be standard price around town). I was able to get my vehicle checked right away, however i was told that my vehicle in particular would cost $80 to perform the smog check. I am not going to identify my vehicle, but there is nothing so different about my vehicle that would cause a smog check to be any more difficult. Whatever the situation is, price increases or otherwise, I would not recommend this business, $80 for a smog check is ridiculous. read more

I have been using All Star Smog for my DMV required smog checks for the past few years. Ever since the first visit I have not gone anywhere else. Why?...Because they are incredibly fast, friendly, and affordable. I've never set an appointment and have been in and out of there in 20 minutes or less. I've had negative experiences with other companies so it was such a relief to finally find this wonderfully run business. The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. I'll update this review once I get the car in for my first visit. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

Today I called my yearly smog check company (Tony's) to make an appointment only to find out that it is closed permanently, I called two other locations, one wanted $150. for my car type. When I asked about a AAA discount I was quoted $130. I then called All Star Smog because it was close to my house. I spoke with Andy and he quoted me $80. He said that since I called, he would take off $20. I couldn't get there fast enough! My total cost was $60. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Andy was also kind enough to guide me out of the parking lot due to the busy traffic on Anaheim. I couldn't be happier with the service and value. Thank you Andy! read more

I stumbled upon this place initially looking for another star certified smog check.... I couldn't find the place I intended to use... so I drove into ALL STAR SMOG because not only were their signs easy to see but it was easy to get to, there was no traffic congestion, looked clean and to top it off it is star certified! Called day of for an appointment / test on my Mazda 3!! My daughter blew in from Arizona (on her California registered Mazda) and needed the test done yesterday - not a problem took me day of. He told me if I picked up the new hose, he would put it in without having to take it to a dealership and being charged for a couple of minutes of time. Tony has been serving Long Beach for I believe it was over 18 years and his experience shows. I paid $50 for the smog check, and the certificate gets sent directly to the DMV without anything needed on my end (I also didn't understand the certificate portion, so he explained that to me). I'd recommend this location (and will exclusively be going to Tony) for future smog check needs!
