Special thanks to Eliaf This smog shop is truly a hidden gem! It's a small little place, and they treated my grandma with so much kindness and respect. The service was super fast and efficient, she was in and out before she knew it! They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure she felt comfortable the whole time. You can tell they really care about their customers, not just about making a quick buck. We'll definitely be coming back for future smogs, highly recommend supporting this mom-and-pop shop! read more

The worst experiences I've had at ANY smog shop in the 40 years I've owned cars. Not only is the guy kinda scary as hell he proceeded to take my car despite it having a check engine light and knowing that's a failing criteria(I was not aware of that) and then charged me for his service and THEN informed me it failed lol. Knowing a car will fail with a check engine light he should have just denied his service if he was honest. This guy is a very dishonest person he knowingly scammed me hahaha. Insult to injury he offered I get the engine light fixed and he will only charge me 2/3rd price when I come back to retest. Read similar reviews down below this guys doesn't deserve your business and should be shut down. Save your money and go somewhere else this guy is a dishonest joke. read more

Easy & quick . I will continue going . Asset for the city . Thank you . Prius. 16 min before closing time . Got me out fast

Quick. Great. Tentative. I always go to this place for my oil changes. They are also star certified which is required by the dmv.

Fernando was great! Super friendly, welcoming, and kind. Got straight to business and was very professional. Passed my test! Though out of my way and not in my city, definitely coming back here in two years. read more

Dishonest!! I didn't know this but if you have a check engine light on, it's an automatic smog fail! The owner didn't tell me this!! He charged me FULL PRICE, instead of telling me UP FRONT to service the car an then come back. He gave me a $10 discount coupon for my return visit! NO WAY I'D RETURN TO THIS CON ARTIST!! IF HE DID THIS TO ME HE CAN CON OTHERS TOO. *EDGAR AT MARINA SMOG 17TH AND PACIFIC IS REPUTABLE AND HONEST!! read more

This is my go to for smog. Quick, efficient, fast service with no issues or problems. Strongly recommend the Smog Father to all.

Fast and convenient. Went at a good time. Sitting area for the wait time. Good price.

I worked with Fernando again today. He gave me a Yelp discount, $5.00 off, just for asking. I found him to be friendly and fast with the smog check. I was in and out in 15 minutes. The cost was $60.00 which seems to be the going rate now somewhere between $60-$65. They have a little waiting area with a television, this spot will not do you wrong. read more

Bought a Toyota 4x4 and brought it to them to do its smog check. Guy at the front says it failed due to one of the cats missing. I ask which one do I need so I can order it and come back once it's installed. He just stared at me with a blank face so I asked him again, which cat do I need so I can come back and pass. He just stays quiet and looks away. Literally can't make this up. Definitely would never do business with them ever again. read more

Quick service right off of Gaffey. You just hand them the keys and sit off on the side while they check the car in front of you. There's a $10 coupon off when you check in with Yelp! Brought a couple cars here -- one had no issue (in and out within 15 minutes). The other one unfortunately didn't finish cycling -- $25 for retest with the receipt (only SMOG Check here). Needed to go to another spot to fix the issue. Would be back! read more

My independent auto mechanic introduced me to "Smog Father"--two decades ago. Since then, when I need smog checks, I have been bringing my family's cars here. This shop is near the freeway on/off ramp. The neighborhood is a bit rough. The shop is really basic. But if there is no one ahead of you, they get your smog check done in about 15 minutes. And I find the price reasonable. read more

If you live near San Pedro, then you probably know the Smogfathers on Gaffey, near Weinerschnitzel. It's been there at least 20 years and has been providing awesome service, pdq. They get you in and out no nonsense and without hassle. Smogs are a pain and they make it relatively painless. It does both a check and the more comprehensive certification. No checks. read more
