The "new" thermostat with 20 miles on it.
    Chris V.

I hate to be writing this, as the people are polite and kind, but they WILL scam you if you are from out of state. My Fiancé and I were traveling from out of state and started having overheating issues while at idle. Provo Car Doctors diagnosed the issue as a blown head gasket. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I do know my way around a vehicle, and I do know what it's like to have blown a head gasket (lots of steam, radiator fluid, and oil everywhere), which absolutely did not happen, and according to the guys over at Point-S, should never have been on the radar to a good mechanic based on the symptoms descThe problem was diagnosed as a faulty water pump and a bad radiator cap by Point-S, this was also what i had suggested may be the issue originally to the mechanic, but instead of checking that, they questioned whether or not I knew for sure if that was the problem. Thankfully, i didn't pay them the $2500 they wanted for this, and instead asked that they do a seal of my head gasket, and replace my thermostat. The thermostat pictured is the one that was removed from my car by the guys at Point-S. Anyone with eyes can clearly see that it is not a new one. So after paying Provo Car Doctors $390 to do literally nothing to my car but pour sealant into my radiator, which did nothing to fix my car, I finally did get the problem corrected properly by Point-S and made it safely back to California without any overheating. It really kills me that this happened, especially considering how polite they seemed, and I'm not even sure the woman working the front desk knew that we were being taken for a ride, but it's extremely important that everyone knows that this can happen to you if you go here and especially if they aren't familiar with the area.

Nate is awesome. He has been my mechanic of choice for many years now. He is honest, smart, and helpful.

I took my vehicle to this shop for the first time after installing an aftermarket heat exchanger…read moreand encountering cooling issues afterward. I needed a proper vacuum bleed for trapped air and a coolant refill. During their diagnostic, the technician repeatedly second-guessed himself, initially claiming that all the cooling pumps had failed--even though he admitted the pumps may have failed before the bleed procedure. After bleeding, the pumps suddenly worked again, which raised serious doubts for me. They then quoted an unrealistic $7,000 job to replace everything, pulling numbers out of thin air with no clear justification. To make matters worse, the staff touched and moved components in my car that they were not authorized to handle, without my consent. When I requested they only replace the genuinely faulty parts (quoted at $3,600), they refused and insisted on doing the full job their way. They even proceeded to order parts on their own and later claimed I had verbally authorized it--despite me clearly stating "no" and asking them to show any paperwork where I had confirmed or agreed to continue. They could not produce any such documentation. In the end, after refusing their full repair plan, they charged me $471 for essentially nothing--just to get my keys back so I could tow the car elsewhere. I also had to pay roughly $300 out of pocket for towing. This experience was a complete waste of time and money. The shop mistreated both me and my vehicle. I do not recommend this place at all. The 5-star reviews must be from people with very low standards. This shop should not be in business.

I had Provo Car Medic replaced all my car spark plugs back in Aug 2022 due to misfires of my car…read moreengine. At the moment I told them that I already purchased new spark plugs. They said they didn't need the spark plugs I bought and they will install high quality spark plugs. They then serviced my car with charge of $323 plus tax. After a few months my car engine had misfires again. I was thinking then the misfires may be caused by other parts. Only recently as I needed to renew my car registration but failed the emissions tests, I brought my car again to Provo Car Medic, and they wanted to charge three hours diagnosis fees of $324. I declined their diagnosis service and then brought my car to a dealer for a diagnosis. The dealer report shows that Provo Car Medic installed wrong spark plugs and the rear side spark plugs were installed loose which caused burnt ignition coils, and total cost to repair all damages is more than $1000. I went to Provo Car Medic to show them the video of the diagnosis. At the moment the manager said only if I can provide the diagnosis report they will refund me. I then went back to the dealer and brought the report to that manager the same day. He then said he needed to contact the dealer before he could do anything. I called that manager a few days later and the manager said he contacted the dealer but will not take any responsibility.
