We have used Doug's Auto several times over the years on our older vehicles and they are always professional, fair, honest and kind. They are great people. Today, I was expecting to hear that our minivan needed costly repairs. They are sometimes busy. I had to wait two weeks to get my van in. I took it to another repair shop to get their opinion (silly me). They told me that it needed major repairs and would cost over $4k. Doug and his crew fixed my van for around $300. He said that if my check engine light comes on again I can bring it back for a second look for free. These mechanics are the best. I'll miss them when we move out of state in a few weeks. read more

This is by far the best, most honest, fair priced mechanic shop I have been to. They have been so good to us! I took my truck in right before Christmas with a radiator leak and even though the mechanic was very busy he took time out to look at it, remedy the problem long enough to get us past the holidays and be able to save money to have them fix it in the spring. I had my check engine and auto lsd light on after an oil change and started freaking out so I called the nearest mechanic and Doug answered. He said he was booked out for a week but would take a look in between appointments sometime in the next couple hours if I could come in right then. I came in and a mechanic IMMEDIATELY went out to my car, told me that the person who did the oil change just did something funky with the vacuums and that it was all fixed. Just like that! Didn't charge me a cent and took a total of 25 minutes between driving there and back with the service. If you are looking for a trustworthy place to take your car, this is the shop! Every time I've gone in they have been so great. Their pricing is honest and I've never felt like they are trying to convince me more is wrong with my car than there is. (I feel like a lot of mechanics do that to girls, so this is huge!) They do get very busy, so don't expect your walk-ins to be as quick as huge businesses, but they will tell you when they are going to take a while. After the disaster that was an auto repair shop in Price, UT (see my other review), I moved on to Doug's to get emergency brake repair. I arrived early morning, on a Friday. I was greeted by shop owner Doug. Our interactions throughout were pleasant. Doug explained clearly what was going on. The work got done on time, as promised. Not any complaints on customer service. The cost was fair, as well. However, the installed parts lasted only three months. Eventually, I had to bring the vehicle to my regular mechanic, because it started shaking excessively when braking. The causes: both (front) rotors/pads were warped and thoroughly pervaded by tiny cracks. I'll acknowledge that I do drive a lot, as a fulltime traveller, but I'm sure not years worth (how long rotors/pads usually last) in a span of only three months--that'd be almost impossible. My mechanic suggested that second-rate parts were used. I'd believe that. Otherwise, Doug seemed honest and well-meaning, based on my personal experience and others' reviews. read more

I had always taken my cars to the Honda dealership. They would always quote me for repairs and I'd dutifully do whatever repairs they told me. After an expensive repair, I was talking with my neighbor and he told me about "his" mechanic. My next big repair I got a quote from the dealer and from Doug's Auto, and Doug's auto came in at about 60% of the cost with the same parts and warranty. They did the work quickly (I left the car overnight) and took the time to show me up everything. I've since starting using them for all my regular maintenance. This is one of those rare, fair mechanics. No upselling, no pressure, and good work. I've since moved to Lehi but I'll drive to Orem to have them work on my cars. read more

AMAZING!!! Super friendly and bad ass (as my husband put it) They were knowledgeable and prompt. I called on a Friday because our radiator broke while we were in Yellowstone. We rigged it so that we could drive all the way to Utah instead of wait 2 days in Yellowstone to have it fixed for 3 times the amount. Doug's Auto is polite, friendly, honest, and they aren't money hungry. They told me exactly what was wrong and gave me my options for no charge while other shops would glaze over the issues and give me a price with no other information. Went in to get my window fixed because it was letting in a lot of air, which made a loud noise while I drove. They said that adjusting the door would fix it. Spoiler alert: it did not fix it. And because they adjusted the hinges on all the doors, now my driver door isn't aligned quite right and lets wind in as well, so they actually made the problem worse and charged 80$ to do it. read more

Taken my high mileage Hyundai Santa Fe (185k) here twice, and once was an emergency transmission problem. I found them from a web search on New Years Day and didn't know anything beforehand. It was a very good decision because now I have a mechanic I trust. I'm so happy I found them. Each time I went in, the office had people either waiting on work or popping in and out who seem to know the shop, and the owners, and are having their cars serviced. That was reassuring to see, as a first time customer, because it meant that there are relationships being built and trust extended. I'm definitely taking all my cars here in the future. Re: the trans, he found found that the chain store I took the car to previously never tightened the plug and the fluid was draining out slowly. Then he found a leaky gasket (now why didn't Spiffy Lube notice that?), and offered to make a new one before recommending we start with a quality conditioner and transmission service to see how it performed. Boom, problem solved. Second time was for a bad battery and oil change. They checked a few other things to be sure it was in fact a bad battery. At no extra charge, they looked at how the transmission was holding up when I came back for the battery and oil. They are truly great guys, excellent mechanics, work thoroughly, and name fair prices. They have integrity and care about doing a good job. Each time they told me what was wrong with the car, how it was supposed to be, and then answered several of my "if.. then.." scenarios which allowed me to make my own decision about the work. I first choose to go to Doug's auto repair because of the great reviews on yelp. I heard some noises coming from my car when I braked and they just told me it was a bent break shield and charged me $50 bucks. The sound went away for about a day and came back. I took the car back and they tried to convince me that the noise was just stuff rolling around in the trunk. I took it to another mechanic the next day and my suspension and my struts were bent and needed to be replaced. It was very clear to see that Doug's auto did not pay very much attention to finding out the real problem. read more
