The food is good, they have some wonderful desserts too. The staff is friendly and helpful. So why the 2 stars? Management needs a course in humility and customer service, specifically, Nicole, she is unprofessional, rude, and always responds with nastiness. I am baffled at why people call this place the "jewel of Vallejo" maybe because of the lack of good restaurants. Now I see has applied to be a full-service bar. The last thing Vallejo needs is another bar. They are across the street from a senior living apartment building, two blocks from the catholic school on Sacramento Street, and two blocks from another elementary school on Sonoma and prostitution is rampant in this area. This area is an area rife with crime the last thing we need is another bar. About two weeks ago I went in order drip coffee, a cinnamon bun, and a slice of quiche it was about $25 with a tip. I get home heated the cinnamon roll and cut it in half and baked into it was a long hair. I took a picture and tossed it and the quiche. I then called them and a very happy voice answered, I told her what happened and she said thank you for letting us know and hung up. I thought okay I was expecting something like oh we can credit your card or next time you come in let us make it right. I went in two days ago and I ordered my food to go and asked to speak to the owner and the young woman says no, she's very busy, what can I help you with? I told her what happened, she said let me talk to her and walked away. As I was waiting for my food another woman came to the table and let a box and didn't say a word. It was a cinnamon roll, I waited for my food and left. Now it really bothered me when I got home I sent a message through their Facebook page saying the above, this was the owner's response. "I didn't even bother reading this, I can only imagine it's a complaint. I remember you from 3 years ago and I'm sorry that we're not a good fit as a customer/restaurant relationship. Enter V-Town Provisions You complained years ago about my chef being rude to you, and once again it's a complaint about my staff. They work hard, are deeply appreciated by many and we will not be able to satisfy everyone all the time. Plenty of other great restaurants in Vallejo for you to support. My "complaint" was not about her staff which I think are better at customer service than she is it was about a hair in my food and how it was handled. I have filed a complaint with the Solano County Health Department and I will be following through. I run a small non-profit and I work full-time both take a considerable amount of dealing and working with customers. I am available 24/7 to respond and I do respond to every text, email, call, message, or walk-up. Why? Because without my customers I have no business. I listen and I learn from every situation whether it is a criticism or a compliment one is as important as the other. I like supporting local women-owned businesses and I don't mind spending money for a great meal, but I work hard for my money, so I do mind when an owner acts as if their customer's concerns are irrelevant. I am sure they will continue to do well, but it will be without my business. read more

The mole at Provisions does what most brunch sauces don't -- it shows up as the main character. Took the wife in for breakfast and we split two plates: chilaquiles for me, smothered burrito for her. Both showed up drowned in the same dark, glossy mole, finished with a peanut-sesame crumble that adds nutty crunch most places skip. That sauce isn't a topping. It's the whole personality of the kitchen. My chilaquiles: two sunny-side eggs with yolks the color of a sunset, sitting over crispy tortillas, pickled red onions, cotija, green onions, and a dollop of crema. Crispy where they should be, saucy where they need to be, not soggy -- which is the whole game with chilaquiles. The pickled onions cut the richness so you keep going. Breaking the yolk into the mole is the moment. Wife's smothered burrito came on a blue floral plate that looked like it walked out of someone's grandmother's china cabinet -- and that's the move at Provisions. Mismatched antique plates, "Provisions" stamped mugs, brick walls, and food plated like it matters. Burrito was hefty, griddled crisp on the outside, blanketed in mole. She finished it. She doesn't usually finish things. Coffee was solid. Service was unhurried in a good way -- sit, talk, no one rushing the table. Local note: Provisions isn't just a restaurant. They run Friday Night Dinners, Battle of the Chefs, and Night in White 2026 is already on the calendar. They're one of the few operators actually building downtown Vallejo into a destination instead of waiting for it to happen. Verdict: If you live in Solano County and haven't eaten here, fix that. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Provisions on March 16, 2025 around 12 noon. After waiting 15 minutes in line for a table for 3, a party of 3 that arrived after us was seated ahead of us. I overheard the waitress mention the table was for a party of 3, but then the hostess called the other group in through a different entrance, seemingly bypassing us. When we raised the issue with the hostess, her response was dismissive. She said, "Oh, I thought you had four," even though she knew we had three, as she had previously stated she was giving a couple the table for two since we had three, to which we agreed. Her response failed to address the core issue of fairness and respect for the queuing system, which ultimately led to our frustration and departure. I've never experienced such disregard for the order and time invested by customers, and it's left a very negative impression. Looking at the other 1 star ratings I can see others have had the same treatment. I hope the establishment takes this feedback seriously and works to improve its service going forward. read more

Saw an Instagram post today with them featuring a delicious looking taco salad, we decided to give the place a try, WE LOVE SUPPORTING LOCAL! When we arrived we asked one of the staff how their set up works, rudely she said just go inside. We did, stood for a little while, approached the counter. We asked about the salad (no longer available they said) not a problem, we asked for other items on their menu, they took down the menu and said they didn't have that either.
