I scheduled an onsite visit and agreed to the $100 initial inspection fee. The agreed upon 2 hour time for the inspection came and went without a call about being late or even rescheduling a new time. Several days passed and still no follow-up. Based on the other reviews, this lack of professionalism is a recurring pattern with this company. I had chosen this company to support locals but will now hire help from Santa Rosa instead. ---------------- UPDATE #2: Mike lost more due to his failure to show up for his appointment than I estimated earlier. Just got an estimate from Tactics Rodent Exclusion to fix the same problem. Will be paying them $1125 to pest-proof our property. As Mike did reply below and is a local, I upped this to a two star review in hopes that he will be more professional in the future. ---------------- UPDATE #1: Mike replied to my post above and claimed to have called and left a VM declining our business. If that were true, my review would not be here. I double-checked and no VMs were left. So keep in mind as the others below have said, Mike isn't interested in non-recurring revenue jobs. I was expecting to pay $250-500 for Mike to install pest-proofing material around our house to keep mice out. If your project isn't worth more than this amount of money, then seems you need to go elsewhere. Here is Mike from Provex response to my review on Yelp which I can't respond back too. So let me here. First of all my landlord at the time paid him but I hired him. Two- why do I have to hound him to come back and show proof of that? I called him multiple times as well and he never called me back. But is it my job to chase a service provider we hired for months? I see that Mike also claims no dedication or follow thru even by his own response here "your rats not mine". My man caught five rats with our traps. Mike caught one. He didn't even follow thru with his job but he was paid in full. So just so you all know when Provex comes out to your home they consider themselves done once they placed their traps. My landlords had him come out to get rid of rats in the garage and attic. He did not do his job. He wrote a report of where the rats were getting in our garage, didn't even fill/cover the holes or communicate with my landlords about including that in the service for him to fill them or having someone else fill them (my landlords assumed he would do it since he never said he didn't and not just say where they were getting in). He set traps, didn't catch anything and later told my landlord he did, but whenever I asked he said he didn't. Was horrible with responding (many times he didn't respond) and setting times to come set/check the traps. Was late every time (one of the times being over 1.5 hours past the 1 hour time window we set for him to come, window was 9-10 and he came at 11:30) and just had no regard or respect for my time. Rats were still getting in because he didn't cover the holes but still set traps which some set themselves off. He didn't tell my landlords that he didn't have the holes covered so more rats would just come in get in and his communication was horrible and rude. When my landlords came to the house to check the holes to fill themselves since he didn't do it, there were other holes that he didn't even notice or make note of in the report. My landlords paid him to get rid of rats and he did not fulfill his services in any way so we are in the exact same position we were 2 months ago when he was hired. Very disappointed in every way and will never use this company ever again, I would give 0 stars if I could and do not recommend this company. read more

First, let me say, Mike is super communicative, responsive, courteous, considerate, and accommodating and doesn't patronize, condescend, or use alarmist tactics to inundate you with a barrage of upselling tactics. If you need thorough, timely, and effective treatment of any pest problem, please don't hesitate (and reasonably priced!)! I mistakenly had called one of those larger chains first. They could only schedule us 2 weeks out, and that was just for an "initial free inspection." They refused to treat the same day!! And they refused to allow me to schedule the treatment before the "initial free inspection" had occurred to expedite the process---when I had carpenter ants coming in through my ceiling!!! Carpenter ants which cause damage! Insanity. No sense of urgency. Mike was the complete opposite. Do not waste your time looking elsewhere. Mike even guarantees his work for 30 days, and as the house is in the country, I actually had to call him back twice! He came back immediately, helped me devise a test to analyze where the ants were coming in from. Within 24 hours we had our answer, and Mike was back on the property within an hour's notice to do additional treatment, under the umbrella of my original plan's guarantee. Mike will now be taking care of all my pest-related needs. I cannot express what a relief it is to find a reliable and ethical pest-control professional. Ps. When you call, you are in direct contact with Mike. You are not speaking with some remote operator (who will ask a million questions but has no knowledge on the subject), who then connects you to "your local" guy, whose contact info they treat like an NSA secret. BEWARE, this guy seems to thrive on communication breakdown and mistrust between property management, landlords, and tenants. He reported there was no rodent activity around our furnace which there absolutely was. We have still been without heat in our home for TWO MONTHS because we had to fight for the property managers to believe us. Because of this we reported the property to code enforcement and the owner has been issued a code violation. I have never worked with a more unprofessional and negligent technician than Mike at ProVex. Our property managers hired him to perform rat abatement and from day one he was late and unresponsive. He would come to do a service, knock, then leave without ringing the doorbell and blame us for not coming to the door, then property management would be mad at me for not letting him in. He was asked to remove a dead rat in a trap in the garage, was given the garage code, but then came and left without disposing of the rat because "the code wouldn't work." I was home and could have let him into the garage to get the dead rat if he had bothered to walk up our steps or call me. He literally lied to us the last time he was here, saying an HVAC technician had removed his traps in the attic that he hadn't come to check in almost a month. I read the reviews about the rats. He did the same thing to me. Came out and put traps in attic. Said he would come back for them. He never did. The traps are still up in our attic and under house.
