All I can say is Kevin & Lance have been outstanding. Having used their services 3 times now we are totally thrilled with the work performed. From our controller replacement, then the heater, to today 3 LED lights replaced. Highly recommend them for all your service and equipment needs. read more

I had Kevin inspect the pool of a house I am buying. He was extremely thorough and informative. He explained what he was inspecting and why, any issues he found, and how I could handle them myself. He did not try to up-sell me, and was completely willing to explain tricks-of-the-trade to me for my own benefit for free. He did all of this for a super competitive price, much better than competitors, and even better than I was expecting. I would highly recommend him and will definitely go back to ProTouch for any future pool issues that arise. read more

Over a period of about 3 weeks I was dealing with an above ground pool problem (water chemistry). I called around for service but no one I could find does above ground pool service. Finally I called ProTouch Pool Services and although they did not offer above ground pool service either, I was lucky enough to speak to Kevin and he assured me he could walk me thru what to do, he took the time out to offer solutions and advice. He always called back when he said he would and made me feel like my issue was important even though I am not an actual paying customer. He was sure to let me know anything we needed in the future he would be happy to help. From my experience and opinion, anyone calling this company will receive excellent and knowledgeable help. Great company. They replaced my spa heater and did a terrific job. Lance is very professional and knowledgable. They were so impressive I've signed them up to do weekly service. Highly recommended. read more

FANTASTIC! I called Kevin about a suspected problem with my pump. Instead of selling me a pump that I didn't need, he walked me through on the phone to diagnose the problem, which was a small air leak in the filter basked area. He spent a fair amount of time with me on the phone, FOR FREE, and I could tell that he is SUPER knowledgeable in the pool biz. SUPER HONEST and over-the-top helpful. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

What I immediately liked about the business was how fast they responded to my Yelp request for quote. Secondly, their communication was both expedient and professional. Third, the level of competency. You can read all the rave reviews about their service. Lance did not disappoint. It was a treat to watch him methodically diagnose my 40 year old pool heater. Being an engineer myself I appreciated his level of experience and talking me through his work. He didn't have a problem indulging me. Last, after completing the repair he was done and instead of leaving he wanted to make sure the pool setup, valves et al were functioning to ensure proper pool heating. My pool is 40 years old and the valves weren't obvious. He took extra time to reverse engineer them to understand them so he could explain to me how to best position them to yield the best operations of pool and spa heating and for best efficiency. He even created a skimmer plug for me to circumvent a slightly leaky valve. Lance didn't go the extra mile, he went the extra several miles. People do this because they care. They are relentlessly passionate in seeing the job done right and ensuring people are being taken care of. Which I was but he took the job to an entire new level. This is the type of business practice you only wished you could hire for everything. Glad I found them. Thank you ProTouch Pool Services. read more

Protouch Pool Services - 40 yr old heater - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - San Diego, California

We have a 24 year-old pool. I do all the routine stuff, but not big jobs. A few years ago, Lance installed a new variable speed pump. Works great. This last week, our original heater finally gave up the ghost. Lance installed a new heater and it too works great. Lance knows his stuff: He wanted me to check a setting on my pump and while finishing up work on the heater and was able to talk me through the screens on my pump app without seeing the screens... Pretty impressive... Price for work was very fair. Thank you! read more

Owner of ProTouch Kevin has been beyond helpful and knowledgeable from my extremely in depth pool inspection to helping my boyfriend and I select pool chemicals and equipment months later. I purchased a house with an older pool, hot tub, and natural rock formation fountains and Keven spent an incredible amount of time inspecting each feature to ensure it worked properly and advised on how to fix items that didn't work. He is honest, thorough, reliable, and a master at his craft. I was extremely impressed by his knowledge! He will forever have my business! read more

Kevin was fantastic. He called me right back, was very responsive and was willing to provide me detailed information that gave me the knowledge I needed to make an informed choice about my pool repair. Highly recommend anyone to start their service talks with him. Much appreciated. read more

My pool hasn't quite run well in a while. Clogged jets, an air leak, just not right. Kevin answered my call right away, the office called a short while later to schedule Lance to come have a look. Everyone I dealt with was professional, personable, and incredibly knowledgable. Everyone took the time to explain what was going on clearly and talk through solutions. Overall a great experience. read more

DON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE BUT Protouch!!! It was time to trade in the old DE filter and upgrade to a cartridge filter. Plus, I had an older Pentair pump that was leaking and a Pentair heater that would not turn on. I was afraid that all of these repairs would be in excess of $5,000...because I had been quoted this price by another pool company. Well, a friend referred me to Protouch and I did my own research. All the reviews were positive so I gave them a call. After providing the technician (Lance) with photos of my equipment I received a quote via email. Wow! What a great price. I had mentioned the leaking pump and non-working heater and was told the tech would take a look when he was there to install the new filter. I was so relieved when the tech inspected all the equipment and was completely open and honest. (how refreshing these days) Anyway, Lance gave me an instant quote of what it would take to repair my pump leak and fix my heater, I was over joyed. I was afraid I would need a new pump...nope...Lance took it apart and repaired the leak AND repaired the heater. One of the things I really like about Lance is he said that the heater problem could be one of two things, but to just do the cheaper fix first to see if that fixes the problem. Low and behold, he fixed it. Then, if all of this isn't enough, after Lance spent a good several hours replacing and repairing my equipment, he took the time to teach me how to program the pump to my specifications. I will never use any other pool service company. read more

San Diego needs more companies like ProTouch Pool Services! My mother's pool was faced with a problem and the only solution her previous pool guy gave had a hefty price tag attached. With just one call to Kevin, he set us straight and gave us a far, far more affordable option to get the problem solved. With his upfront answers, knowledge and willingness to share what he knows, we were able to make chicken soup out of chicken poop. Thanks Kevin! read more

I got myself into a predicament with a friend's jacuzzi (long story). Kevin knew exactly what to do! I am eternally grateful for his help and he even identified some damage caused by a different pool service that presented as scaling all over the insides of the pool and jacuzzi. I'm recommending this business to all my friends who have pools. Best customer service I've had in a very long time! read more

We've been wronged by 2 pool cos. The first one left a piece of our Vac-mate in the skimmer line during hook up & never said a word. We began having water flow issues & didn't know why. We ended up firing this company for an unrelated issue - they couldn't maintain our water, turning our pool purple & blue! The 2nd co. did ok with water maintenance, but kept insisting our water flow issues were caused by old & faulty equipment, despite the fact that our filter was only halfway thru its life & the pump only 3 years old! They promised to troubleshoot the water flow, but unknown to us, ultimately had neither the desire nor the capability to fulfill their promise & just wanted to sell us a shiny, new filter & pump. As non-experts, we didn't have much of a choice but to trust when they said there was nothing wrong with the skimmer line. Long story short, after installation of new equipment, we still had water flow issues. ProTouch to the rescue. I talked with Kevin, the owner, who was 100% transparent about their capabilities, and assured me they would either be able to help us out, or make sure they handed us off to someone who could. Lance from ProTouch found the problem right away (the stuck piece was visible) & took the time and effort to dislodge the tightly stuck plastic piece from the skimmer line. Please call ProTouch if you need help! Integrity is everything! They are trustworthy, patient & helpful! read more

Contacted ProTouch Pool Services about a pool inspection on a property we are starting escrow on. I spoke to Kevin on the phone and he gave really good advice and even said if I didn't go with ProTouch he just wanted me to get a quality inspection and what to look for. Kevin come out to the property and conducted his inspection. Instead of jacking up the price and giving us a report in writing he said he could just call us later with what he found since nothing needed immediate attention on the system. A written report cost a little more than just a verbal breakdown of the inspection. ProTouch was professional, punctual and personable. I highly recommend ProTouch for your pool needs. read more

Protouch is by far one of the best companies I have dealt with since moving here from the East Coast. They are reliable, fair and stand behind their products and services. Excellent pool service very clean job, highly recommended. Checks all the pool equipment and balances the chemistry of pool water.

Honest, transparent, knowledgeable, easy to work with and schedule; dog friendly! I requested bids for a new pool pump from two different companies. Lance, at Protouch, went beyond what the other guy did in establishing exactly what was best for me and I am very satisfied with what I ended up with. Since then, I just go to Lance at Protouch when I need a repair or something new for my pool. He recently installed a new heater for me and I am very happy with that also. read more

Troubleshot a leak in our jacuzzi without a problem. Fortunately it was just the cap to the heater. We were very pleased.

Kevin at Protouch is top-notch! I am in from out of town and staying at a friend's vacation home. Her regular pool person installed some new controls but it was not programmed or installed correctly. We were unable to use the spa heater and the kids were frustrated. I called Kevin leading up to a holiday weekend and they are super busy. He took the time to walk me through getting it into service mode to get us by to get the spa up to temp. They can schedule service to correct the problem when they have time in their schedule. They earned me as a customer for their knowledge and willingness to help solve a problem even though they were not the installing contractor!! Call Protouch, you won't regret it. Dan read more

Protouch (Lance and Kevin) were great, can't recommend them enough. Fair prices, extremely efficient at providing quotes and installing pool filter and filter pump, and great recommendations on what to do with the other issues I have with my pool. A great business read more

Had a leaking pool pump that was at least 10 years old. Called up Protouch and they put me in touch with Lance. He came over and diagnosed the issue and said it was the seals that needed replacing and quoted me for the work. He took apart the pump and the underside of the motor housing was cracked, calcified, and deformed. He told me he could still replace the seals and put it back it should work, but there's no way to tell how long. He quoted me on the spot for a replacement pump with labor and said he could get the pump in a day and try to schedule me ASAP. He put the pump back to work in the interim and came by 2 days later and replaced the pump. Protouch/Lance were super easy to work with and I recommend them 100%. I will likely reach out again to them to switch out my old DE filter for a cartridge filter in the not too distant future. Good, solid work, no strongarm sales tactics. Easy choice to go with them again. read more

EDUCATION! These guys know their stuff! Anyone can have clear looking water (see picture of spa with stone) but what you don't see is how dangerous this water actually was. The PH of that water was 4 or lower and the alkalinity was maybe 10. It may look clear and clean but in actuality it could have done damage to your skin. Our technician who came out educated me on the use and damaging effects of chlorine tablets, dry pool shock products and how to use alkaline. If you look closer to the image you will see circles in the plaster of the spa. It was nice to know why those spots are created and again I was educated. I couldn't thank ProTouch enough for just the education I received from one single visit. THANK YOU! read more

Just as family was scheduled to spend some isolation time, the pool heater quits and I really needed it fixed as quickly as possible. I called them on a Sunday. Tech Lance appeared Monday morning. Did a great diagnostic job and found that it was an inexpensive fault switch. He was prepared with a complete temperature panel, but it wasn't needed. ( I'm sure a less reputable company would have "sold" that to me) Fast, reliable, and honest. Great job guys! read more

Kevin came inspect the pool for the house we were buying and let me say that service he provided went above and beyond what we were expecting. Kevin was so kind, reassured me that I shouldn't kill my kid and got me to someone closer to my sisters house that could help me. ProTouch is the best pool service company I have ever had work on my pool. We have owned our home with a pool since 1994 so I have had many companies provide service or repairs. Lance is the most knowledgeable, competent and responsive technician I have met. He quickly diagnosed my equipment issues and talked me through the options for repairing them. I learned more from him in one visit about caring for my pool than I have over the years from anyone else. The office followed up on quotes, invoices and Lance was able to obtain a needed heater during this period of short supply. He always answered his cell phone even after the repairs when I had a question. I started calling him coach. A first class operation that I highly recommend. read more

We are in the middle of escrow on a house with a pool. After lots of research we decided to hire ProTouch to do the pool home inspection. Kevin immediately fit me into his schedule on short notice which I'm thankful for!! He was meticulous and thorough. Fellow Consumers FYI! (Here's My Experience with ProTouch) Recently I spent $12,000 to have my pool replastered. Unfortunately, during the plastering process my pool man moved out of this region. I resorted to looking on Yelp. ProTouch Pool Services was rated number 1. I contacted the company and made an appointment for Kevin to come start service. Kevin did evaluations of my newly plastered pool and pool equipment. Kevin said the pool plaster company did a terrible job and my pool equipment was in poor condition. Kevin said unless these things were corrected my pool would be "unserviceable." Per Kevin I would need to spend thousands to make these corrections. Kevin did 2 services at my home. Each visit resulted in Kevin stating portions of my pool equipment needed to be replaced and how difficult it was to clean my pool. What Kevin DID"NT KNOW was I had the pool equipment inspected prior to replastering. All the equipment was in GOOD working order. The pool plastering company who he said "didn't do a good job" actually cleaned the pool and filter 4 times. On 1 occasion the plastering company serviced the pool prior to Kevin arriving. Only to have Kevin show up hours later and say how dirty my pool was and how hard it is to clean due to poor equipment. (By the way Poolscape Unlimited Inc. did an EXCELLENT JOB!) After Kevin's complaints I contacted my home warranty company who sent out a pool company to inspect the pool equipment. (January 18th) The equipment was found to be in GOOD working order. A 3rd pool company also confirmed nothing is wrong with my pool equipment. In summary I have no idea how this company is rated #1. Protouch- Kevin wanted me to spend thousands of dollars for unnecessary repairs and equipment. I doubt this was the 1st time this company has done this, its probably common practice. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. FYI! Be cautious and well informed my Fellow Consumers. read more
