So many pizzas so little time!

A special occasion brought my colleagues and I to this spot for lunch (a going away/birthday). I called the day before and made a reservation for seven. It's located in the up and coming area of Gunbarrel, just north of the King Soopers complex. While I typically find it challenging to find parking, lunchtime awarded us with our choice of nearby spots. Upon arrival Callie greeted us warmly and brought us to just the right sized and shaped table. She made great recommendations about how many pies and salads to order. We ordered quite a bit of food and were super impressed that she not only memorized our entire order but that she was so helpful and friendly (she for serious refilled my diet coke 3+ times during the lunch). We started with the salads. A Caesar (with the anchovies on the side) as well as a Capri salad (sliced ham, hearts of palm, and corn). Both salads were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. The Caesar dressing was especially creamy and flavorful (I couldn't help but enjoy some on my pizza crust). The pizzas came out fast and hot. The pizza stands were especially helpful in ensuring we had enough room for all of our plates and drinks. We went for the special (feta, mozzarella, pesto, tomatoes, and basil - crowd favorite), a pepperoni and pesto, the last pizza being an Atomica pie (Italian sausage, black olives, garlic, oregano, etc.). This was my best Proto's experience so far (I've been to one other location). I'll definitely be back to check out their happy hour ($3 large panini, $10 beer & pizza, $5 cocktail of the day, and more).

Pretty disappointing for an almost 20$ pizza :/ Barely any sauce and was supposed to have garlic, oregano, and red peppers which you can't even tell are there. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Had takeout dinner here tonight. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered a house salad with the traffic jam pizza which included all kinds of veggies with sausage. The pizza was excellent. Crust was delicious with good dough and you can tell all the toppings were fresh. I've had plenty of pizza in New York and this on par with the neopolitan style pizza I've had out there. This is a must if you're looking for pizza in Gunbarrel. On a side note the bar looks like a fun place to hang out for a drink.

Their pizza is just like the pizza I ate in Rome. Very good and authentic. It's a thin crispy crust that I love.

Same solid service and product as the one in North Boulder. If you're in the (still sleepy) area, a worthy choice.

Therefore…read moreBoulder has a lot of college friendly greasy cheap pizzas.. which is great for our population but does get redundant and I crave a different kind of pizza. One with more attention to detail, fluffy crust, more 'Italian' style, more homey. This is the place if you're craving that more authentic Italian style experience! They've got actual margarita pizza (that's not just a cheese pizza with tomato slices thrown on it like other places..) and really unique style pizzas if you're feeling adventurous. We had one unique pizza that had sausage, honey, and pistachios. I usually dislike sweet and salty and my partner hates nuts, but they did this pizza so well it was one of the best pizzas we tried there. I believe they mix up their menus cause when I tried looking it up online for the exact name of the pizza I couldn't find the pizza. But I'll post a picture of the pizza. They also have a great appetizers and the slice their prosciutto to order. What I love about this place is you can sit at the pizza bar and watch pizzas being made and meat being sliced and arranged beautifully. I loved their limoncello drinks which is perfect for spring/summer day out on their patio. The servers are kind and hard working. This definitely is one of my favorite places to hang, date night, girls night, business dinner, etc.

We went with the Lottie's Salsiccia, which had sausage, vodka sauce, and sweet and sour peppers. It had an interesting mix of sweet and savory flavors. Our waitress also recommended us the Trapanese, which was super creamy as it had pesto sauce and burrata cheese chunks on top. We added anchovies to half of the pizza and that definitely added some saltiness to it. For drinks we had the aperol spritz and frose, which were refreshing. They have indoor and outdoor seats, though outdoor is limited so you may have to wait. The flavors of the pizza really came through well, but the crust was a bit too thick for my liking. Service was fast though and super friendly! It's right on Pearl Street too so you can check it out as you're shopping!

What a deal ! We got a 4 corner with 3 toppings for under $10 dollars and it was plenty of gold. There is parking behind the building which is very nice to see in Boulder. It's clean and efficient inside. Just a single counter by the front window if you wanted to eat there but everyone was getting to go and a substantial number were drivers like the ones who regularly come to our house. The staff was friendly and efficient at both the counter and the uniquely separated cooking and baking area. We are not too likely to get back in person as it is far from our house but we will continue to order delivery on a regular basis. We did an online order for pick up and were pleasantly surprised with the ease of ordering! There were a lot of different options and toppings to pick from! The pizza was great, and the crust was perfectly crisp! While we loved the pizza, we didn't love the price tag on it. With most 8 square pizzas starting around $15-20, and each additional topping starting at $2.99 (for this size), we were a bit shocked at the prices. They did have some coupons, but we still were a bit disappointed in how high the prices were. We would definitely consider coming back again if in the area!

We both went w the homemade pastas instead. Our waitress was lovely she was attentive and recommended many great options. We started w drinks a beer and non alcoholic sea glass white wine, I was impressed this was one of the best non alcoholic glasses of wine I've ever had. We order the scampetti alla romana grilled shrimp it was the best we've had since moving from Chicago and our beloved "Orzo Italian restaurant" of old town we frequented. Was hot when arrived perfectly grilled nice char and not overly garlic w touch of red pepper flake. We both filled up our order w shrimp in our main dishes based on how delicious and perfectly cooked our shrimp was. My husband ordered the pallardelle fruta which came in red vodka sauce w shrimp and small lobsters and I order the pappardella costa added grilled shrimp this was in cream sauce w truffles. Both were on special from homemade in house pasta not on regular menu. And both were rich and delicious and perfect size we left comfortable not stuffed. We opted not for dessert at this meal. The atmosphere was spring break for CU so it was quieter I'm sure if classes in session would have been busier but it was lovely for quiet dinner date w spouse to be able to hear each other wo shouting. We most definitely will be back very impressed from seating within 2 mins of arriving for our reservation of 630pm to wait staff and bus staff on point w checking in and removing dishes and cleanliness of restaurant to food arriving well spaced between drinks and appetizer to entrees and allowing us to rest before being rushed off for our table to be sat next.
