We purchased a take-and-bake on Friday night, and I have gotta say it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and piled high. We ordered The Aegean and would absolutely order it again. With that being said, the cost of the pizza was a bit of a turn off. I'm all about paying for quality, but this felt exorbitant for a take-and-bake pizza. I also will say the inside didn't feel incredibly clean when we arrived, but perhaps I judged too quickly and it was just bad timing. We would definitely go back again. read more

Great stop for lunch after a long morning of work in downtown Boulder. Hey have a good variety of lunch specials I went the traditional route and got slice of pizza with a drink for under $7. I like that it's a little area with seating right next to the meal Prep, the staff was friendly and helpful. As all things in Boulder you have to pay for your hourly Peking unless you are lucky enough to find a side street free area. Right off the corner of the busy street mall area. I would like to see if this location would ever change the basic blend of cheese to hold the sharp cheddar or orange cheese that I believe to be combined with mozzarella? BAKE OR TAKE Ok, I was visiting the area and stopped by this place. Not a bad find. BUT NOTE! I called ahead so the pizza was ready when I arrived (the temp was 32 and dropping and I was on foot!) so it was a surprise to walk into this place and 1. have the person at the counter not know about my order (they had to check with another person), and 2. For that said person to walk over to a fridge and hand me an uncooked pizza They're great though, they baked it there, I just wasn't aware this was how they worked. Have ordered pizzas to go from here a couple of times and still honestly trying to figure out why there's such a high price point for a take-and-bake pizza. The pricing is the same, if not more, than other spots around town of similar (or even higher) quality where they do the work for you and it's ready to eat. A 2-topping 14" large pizza is $17.99, and if you want a topping on only half the pizza, you still get charged for a full topping. Wtf? I don't particularly love the fact that take-and-bake is the only option here, especially given how overly complicated the baking instructions are. The whole point of ordering pizza is to have a no-frills night in and not have to babysit your meal as it's cooking, am I right? But N&W makes it impossible because they specifically tell you to pop the stupid dough bubbles every few minutes (and they make it very clear to follow the instructions to "avoid pizza shame.") Ugh. I want to love this place so badly, especially because of how close it is to home and the fact that they seem to really support hiring kids that are new to the working world. But come on, it's take-and-bake pizza for the love of Pete, and just because wealthy Boulder moms who want a night off from cooking can afford a $20 simple pie, doesn't mean you should capitalize on it. Holy JEEZ the prices went up. I ordered one single extra large Penny Lane pie - a vegetarian pizza, nothing else - and before tax it was $30. I would normally come here if I'm on this side of Boulder, which I'm not often, but for $35 after tax for a pizza with no meat that's not happening anymore. Not only is this pizza top notch, but so is there service. I ordered a pie with goat cheese, but instead it came with mozzarella. They weren't able to deliver a replacement and I wasn't able to pick one up. So George arranged for a new pie to be cooked up for me today. Is was so so good! Came in on a cold spring day with a friend passing thru Colorado. Saw the Yelp freebie for check in and was excited he could try the wings that are so highly reviewed. So, 5 stars for flavor and quality - but 3 to the server for not understanding the Yelp check in freebie offer of 6 free wings with the order. His thinking it was expired even though I showed him the current offer - in the end, he gave us 3 for free. Can't wait to come back to try another slice - had essentially the Aegean? We have loved Nick & Willy's for over 20 years. The Aegean and Santorini are solid favorites - piled high with fresh ingredients. No lie on the advertising there! Yea - it isn't cheap, but good food seldom is. It is worth it to have it freshly made by hand. We love the down to earth staff, always incredibly friendly. Still our favorite for great pizza. We ordered half chicken and slice of pizza. We showed them that we had Yelp checkin offer, they accepted it right away, which was good. But then the guy turns around and speaks to his coworker "Who eats wings at 2pm in the afternoon ", loud enough for us to hear him. Well I do and its none of your business. After that the entire experience was downhill. Honestly the food is good. The pizzas are slightly expensive for yhe location but tasted good. We ordered slice of Thai pizza and it was good. There was lot of Olive oil in it. Also, half slow-roasted chicken was well marinated and cooked nicely. I did not like that they cooked chicken with skin. But for $7, it was good and large portion. We were here on Christmas day and every one was wished except us. We dined over there and no one asked us if we needed anything, but the servers asked everyone else. So, overall my experience was not good. But yes, the food was good. I would not come here again though coz experience does matter to me. read more

It's good but not great, especially at this price point -- $65 for two large take 'n bake pizzas. Plus, now that I've tried nearly every other pizza venue in Boulder over the past 2 years, there are so many more appealing options. The pizzas are unique. The wingin Willy does indeed taste like buffalo chicken wings: it's got blue cheese, chicken, jalapeños...drizzled with hot wings (Tabasco + butter) sauce. The Mediterranean and little nell are nice combinations, too. However, the bbq sauce on the Nell tastes just like sweet baby rays so I'm not sure about whether these are wholesome ingredients. I'd choose several other venues on pearl street over this spot, unless you just really want to grab an unbaked pizza for home. They do have a couple salads in the cold case, ready to grab and go...but again, they're pretty standard salads and nothing to get too excited about unless you're craving a standard Greek, Caesar or house style salad. Solid 4.5. This was our first time visiting. We've been to Papa Murphy's multiple times because it was an expensive and easy (4 kids eat a lot of pizza!). I was kind of taken aback by the high prices. Roughly $21 for a large sausage and jalapeño pizza. But dang the pizza was good! I can't go back to Papa Murphy's. My friends and I were craving pizza and wings while visiting the area and came across Nick-N-Willy's based on the number of decent reviews. We showed the owner a picture of the wings that were featured on their Yelp page asking which flavor this was and to our surprise he said the photo was incorrect, they do not have fried chicken wings, only baked wings and that someone must have uploaded a stock photo (despite it saying uploaded by the owner). Weird flex but ok. He was nice enough to allow us to sample their baked wings which I personally wasn't a fan of as it wasn't flavorful enough for me (but my other two friends were fans). He even encouraged us to use the featured Yelp deal which was 6 free wings when you check in. I ended up just ordering a slice of The Outback but subbed the bacon for Italian sausage and was rather disappointed. For a specialty slice pizza, the toppings did not taste fresh at all and I couldn't appreciate any of the "zesty garlic sauce" base. In the end, I left not feeling the least bit satisfied with my food and felt that I overpaid for a mediocre slice of pizza. read more

I hadn't been in for a while and I noticed a few changes. They sell rotisserie chicken and wings, for a nice add to the menu. We don't eat much doughy pizza any more, cutting carbs and all, but the Aegean is so tasty and healthy, we had to have one tonight. The dough has gotten thinner (which is a good thing) but it is not as yeasty and tender as it used to be (not a good thing.) Still and all, so much better to bake at home than have cold take out or delivery. But I prefer dine-in thin crust wood fired oven pizza. read more

If you had asked me a few days ago what was Nick-N-Willy's, I wouldn't of had a clue. Now I'm a huge fan of this pizza place!! Nick-N-Willy's makes a hell of a pizza, my friend ordered the pizza, picked it up, and baked it at home. When the pizza was ready, the smell instantly drew me to the kitchen. When I got around to eating the pizza, it was AMAZING. The ingredients were so fresh, full of flavor, and the dough so crispy on the outside, and fluffy in the inside. The chicken on the pizza was so good, it wasn't any of that fake manufactured chicken, this was legit oven roasted chicken thrown onto the pizza. This place is fabulous. You'll find it right on the corner. Pay your meter though as the ticketing by the police is fierce. Small place, great variety of flavors. They are very generous with fresh toppings and they have a huge variety. I ordered the veggie sandwich on whole wheat. If you are looking for something healthy and fresh - there are a ton of veggies: including sprouts, special sauce, sunflower seeds. My date had a chicken wings and he was in heaven. Baked, delicious, not greasy at all. Friendly staff, homey/great feeling to the small seating area. Walk in and you will be in high heaven because of the delicious aromas. Seriously, nice, clean, lots of choices.. even gluten free pizza crust! Everyone can eat here. Visiting Boulder? Wanting a mom and pop type place that will fill your stomach and make everyone happy? I grew up in NY so I have high standards for what I consider great pizza. Nick and Willy's is not bad pizza but it definitely is not great pizza IMO. It is more of a flatbread anyhow. They are very generous with the toppings which is a plus. But where their pizza falls short is the crust. It was so dry that it felt more like eating a soft cracker. I had to add olive oil just so it was bearable. They do provide some delicious hot sauce that seems a lot like wing sauce. I loved the hot sauce! But I honestly don't know how they won best of Boulder 17 times. I personally think the pizza place on the Pearl St mall is better. There's no shortage of GREAT pizza joints in Boulder, and this is definitely one of them. I like NYC-style pizza: thin crust, cheesy, and crispy. That's what they offer here. I also like small, simple, unpretentious places with a friendly staff, and that's what Nick-N-Willy's is. The folks working here seem relaxed and friendly. They offer pizza by the slice, and the slices are the biggest I've eaten in Boulder. Really, they're bigger than my head! Plus the ingredients are fresh and done perfectly. Not cool: Same guy assembling pizza with bare hands took my money and then provided change. He also worked equipment then mushed his bare hands in a pile of cheese. I appreciate that there was a generous amount of sauce on my slice - this is rare amongst NY-style slice dispensaries in Boulder. The crust, unfortunately, was not all crispy or yeasty. Could have been baked longer as cheese was not browned. I also appreciate that a good variety of toppings were available to sprinkle on top. I did parmesan, dry basil and garlic powder. At $2.67 with tax, this is the least expensive slice in Boulder but not necessarily the best. Go with Brooklyn Pizza for that. read more

Without a doubt the BEST pizza in Boulder! They only use the highest quality ingridents which is reflected in every slice that comes out of the oven perfectly baked. Add a little red pepper flakes and some oregano and you have a slice of heaven that melts in your mouth. The atmosphere is old school Boulder (so are the prices). I love eating inside at the counter and chatting it up with Terry or his staff. They couldn't be more inviting and friendly. On a day the sun is shining take a seat at one of the tables outside for the most perfect view of the Boulder flatirons. It doesn't get much better than this.
