A qualified five. Five for professionalism and customer service. One for supply chain. I brought in my 2011 Macbook Pro, with a messed up keyboard. Got it home and the new keyboard had a non functioning down cursor key. Called them, ended up taking a few weeks to get it back to them. They had it a week, called the day it was due, and they had gotten a bad cable. Wanted 3 to 5 more days, which was not going to work for me. They expedited and got me a new part, fixed the next day. If you have a server or a PC, or maybe a newer laptop, I'm sure they are great. I don't know if I would bring them a Macbook Pro again. I probably would bring a five year old Mac to the Apple store. They were cheaper, though, and they did deal well with several curve balls. They also honored the warranty. I don't know what constraints they deal with. read more

We have a sluggish iMac that's about 7 years old, but it seemed a shame to junk it and buy a brand new one. So I requested a quote and explained the problems we were having. Sorin suggested we replace our disk hard drive with a solid-state drive and quoted about $350, much less than the cost of a new computer. He assured me that performance would be markedly better and make keeping the computer worth it. It took a few days for them to order the drive and then less than a day to install it. Our machine runs much better now. Sorin was very helpful answering all my questions. Note: He was very quick and responsive when I first asked for a quote, but at times later it took a while to get a response via Yelp messaging, but when I called all was fine. Just a heads up, not a complaint at all. Highly recommended. read more

PRO did an exemplary job with bringing my very old laptop back to life. Their over-the-phone assessment was spot-on (and that's not easy to do), they responded quickly, they were amenable to my schedule, they kept me appraised of their progress, and they gave me a reasonable quote. Excellent work. read more

Totally helpful guys. I emailed them about my laptop screen being broken, they emailed me back within 2 hours with a quote and an estimated time. I took it in, it turned out to be a little cheaper than the quote in the email (the part they quoted me at $135 is actually $120), and they had it done the next day! I would bring my computer here again. read more

Super fast with lots of experience. Constant communication with nice reasonable prices. very happy read more

These are my new computer guys for PC problems. My old Toshiba stopped booting up, so I brought it here. They charge a very reasonable diagnostic fee (which goes toward the cost of repair if you go that route), and tell you when they'll be getting back to you. They hit that deadline. Rather than go for the repair, I bought a refurbished Lenovo laptop from them for $250, and it's a much faster and better machine than the one I brought in to be fixed. It's got a warranty, and they recycled the old machine for free. Very pleased with the outcome, and I'm happy to recommend them. read more

These are the guys to trust with your PC. Service is fast and honest, no bullsh!t. I brought in my laptop for a power issue. They called me on the same day after 5pm to let me know my options. The non-refundable diagnostic fee is only $30, which is well worth it to get the scoop on what's going on. They offered me a quote for a new part but allowed me the choice to not take it. And that was it! Super easy. read more

Nice guys and very reasonable prices. They replaced my hard drive and copied everything over, but also did some troubleshooting of driver issues at no extra cost. Everything was completed in a matter of hours! read more

I was irritated that I couldn't get a quote over the phone about MacBooks just because I wanted to save myself a trip. Honestly Sorin was professional and kind with every encounter; from me being annoyed on the phone not getting a quote, to the call for pick up, and my obnoxious amount of questions. He was especially helpful and honest when I brought in my HP laptop and its cracked screen. If everyone else is like Sorin at the shop, then five stars all around! read more

I scheduled an appointment a week in advance for modem, router and camera install. I was out of state and coordinating several contractors doing work for a specific day. I chose this company, because I got the impression that they were large and organized - I was wrong. At 7:15am the morning of our 10:30am appointment, I received an email from Cosmin saying he can't make and to let him know if I want to reschedule. I was furious and called the office - they offered me no alternative. I'm just blown away at how inconsiderate these people were. STAY AWAY! These are definitely not the people you want dealing with your technology. TERRIBLE. read more

These guys are the best. They go above and beyond, even if it means an onsite visit to solve your coputer problems. They are also approachable and very knoeledgeable. I'm very lucky to have them so close! read more

The Crescent Crew was easy to work with-- professional and friendly. I had a relatively minor repair (though not minor enough for me to take care of on my own) and was able to get it fixed same day. I was charged a flat rate of $65 which seems comparable to other repair shops when I had called around. I would definitely recommend! read more

Bottom line: My lap top had a problem, it was diagnosed by a very courteous staff. The repair estimate was very reasonable. I was promised a 2 day turnaround, My computer was repaired exactly to estimate and my turnaround was just as promised. I was treated well, I would recommend Pro Computers to anyone for any problem. read more

Chanoy and the good people at Tech Tock are the ABSOLUTE BEST. They help me transfer a mountain of data from an ancient computer onto a new one, were diligent, knowledgeable and friendly, accommodated my schedule and were an all-around pleasure to do business with. Needed a local and GOOD computer repair company for my Toshiba laptop. Was searching the internet for any local repair centers. Came across Pro Technology Professionals website. Did a chat with their websites chat service. Found them to have three locations on the northside of Chicago. One in Andersonville at Foster & Clark St., another in Bucktown and their repair center in the 5000 block of W. Lawrence Ave. one block east of the Kennedy Expressway. Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. GREAT communications and record keeping and tracking of repairs along with very reasonably priced and fast repairs! All in all, a great service company! read more

I was in need of help with my laptop. I googled computer repair and Pro popped up. As they were convenient to get to, I read the reviews and decided I would try them. Fast forward about two-three months and I finally brought my equipment in. On a Saturday. As they were painting the shop on this particular day, I was told they wouldn't look at my laptop until Monday. Monday I got the quote (it was a failing hard drive) and was told it would be 1-3 days. On my way home from work that same Monday, I got a call saying my laptop could be picked up. Yes ! I love them. Very fast and a very fair price. Sure much cheaper than a new laptop ! With a new hard drive, it's like new anyway, but with all my software and photos (I am a photographer) already in place. Thanks so much, Pro, and I definitely will recommend them. In fact, I already have had a co-worker use them. read more

Reached out through the contact page on the website multiple times over multiple days, never heard back. Ended up just investing the time to fix the problem myself. Why have a contact form for people to fill out if no one is checking the inbox? They lost at least one customer this week, imagine how many more they have lost with their poor communication. 1/5 Would not recommend. read more

I can't recommend Pro highly enough. I went on line on a holiday weekend and he got back to me in less than 30 minutes. My computer had multiple problems. They fixed it so it is running like new. I am a writer and needed it fast. I had it a next day. You will be in good hands with Pro computer. read more

I had an issue with my laptop I needed to a repair shop close to my house. Found pro computers and saw there great reviews, I took it over there and they where great they give you free estimates a lot of laces charge for estimate . Suran tech associate was very helpful and honest in what they could do to resolve my problem. He called 1 1/2 days later gave me my options and told me what he recommends wasn't pushy gave me time to decide what I wanted to do. After I decided he even gave me a discount on the repair price after I told him money was tight cuz of covid . That was great quality honest work without hidden charges is rare these days and even got a discount. They get high marks need computer work go see them read more

I took my MacBook Pro 15" laptop with retina display in for a screen replacement. I was so disgusted with myself for having cracked it in the first place. I'm happy to say they replaced my screen with an OEM replacement part and saved me hundreds of dollars. I dropped it off on a Tuesday night and it was ready for pick on Thursday. Looks and works great! read more

Went to the Andersonville location to have a newly built PC diagnosed. Initial phone call inquiring about services was extremely friendly and helpful. In one business day they fixed the PC, and also did a great job organizing all the cables in the unit. I received a very comprehensive invoice afterwards pointing out every issue that was found and fixed. Great service and attention to detail. Very reasonable pricing and great staff, I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Hmmm, my review keeps disappearing. I wonder why. They've had my laptop for 3 weeks...ordered 2 motherboards, both were "broken" (what are the odds?) and the 3rd and final one mysteriously vanished. Although it was apparently ordered through UPS, they claim to have no tracking number. One piece of advice I got from the very helpful guy working in the back area was to "throw my computer out of the window" since this wasn't his "idea of fun". Yes, those are direct quotes. I was also informed that HP and Dell are S****Y products and they hate working on them, what a hassle, etc. Um, that's your job, dude. STAY AWAY! THREE WEEKS LATER....nada. But I still have their loaner. maybe they'll call one day. read more

I recently took my Mac Computer in and they replaced my system and I find them to trustworthy and I was very happy with what they charged me. It's so nice to know you have knowledgeable and honest people you can turn to. Thanks Pro. read more

Communication was a huge problem at this place. Came in for a issue where MacBook got wet. Was told it was keyboard issue, which the buttons are STILL sticking and not as fluid typing. Was also suggested to get fan fixed for an additional $279, since there was a part "missing" at this point i knew something was wrong and took my computer to another service place and they stated the " missing" part doesn't just come off and that it must've been messed with while fixing the computer. On top of that, the fan worked fan and still has had no issue so I would've paid another $270 for a fan issue that wasn't there. Appreciate the help from this place but wouldn't go back. read more

I've used PRO Computers twice. The first time I got a virus (on my computer), and the second time my hard drive died. Finding a computer repair store is hard, because you tend to associate trust and good work w/big brand names. In this business there's Geek Squad, and then there's everything else. But Geek Squad is expensive and slow. So when you start looking at all the smaller computer repair shops the first thing you notice is that all the names sound the same. So I narrowed down my geographic focus and decided to go into PRO Computers and just get a feel for if I felt comfortable leaving my laptop there. They do a $30 diagnostic test there, which is good, b/c it gives you the option of deciding whether or not to proceed with the repairs. I felt totally comfortable leaving my laptop there both times. The person at the desk seemed knowledgeable and professional, and the prices quoted were just fine. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the low prices. Both times my laptop was fixed and returned to me within 2 business days. read more

Good fast local! Happy with service. They where friendly and easy to find. Would recommend they knew what they were doing.

I am beyond happy. We had a 6-year old iMac that wasn't working. Went in with low expectations (would cost a lot to fix, probably not worth it). These guys went to work and determined that it was an easy fix, and upgraded the operating system and maxed out the memory for practically nothing. I now have a working, fast machine. Also, realized I'd misplaced the cord when I got it home. Called them, and they gave me one for free. Excellent technically and also just really nice people. Thanks so much! read more

Excellent & speedy service! My desktop CPU wouldn't power on and all I wanted were the docs, pics, music, etc. pulled from the machine and put on my flash drive. And that's exactly what I got. I dropped off my computer first thing in the morning and within a couple of hours, I received an email that said the service was complete. Also, the guys in the office were very nice and explained the options available for my situation. I will definitely go back if I have any other computer issues. read more

First they tell $89 for the whole process and extra only if any part was replaced I have got the laptop screen replaced for $150 another computer repair store in chicago...Also when I spoke to the guy he said he can return the laptop without removing the virus if I did not want to pay ....they would return my laptop without solving the issue for $ 89 and that too after leaving me without the laptop for 3 days ......stay away from these guys .freaking expensive ....slow poor service ...rude guys over the phone ... Also I Reach the store at 6 : 30 pm and the store closed at 7 pm...I switch my laptop to find the the annoying search engine still showing ...and my desktop Gmail notifier uninsulated ...The guy Was unable to install it saying Gmail has discontinued it...and told me he doesn't do virus removal in One day...coz he did in a hurry the virus was still on ....did he forget he had the laptop for 3 whole days .. ..Also he told me he made dinner plans so had to leave early ....if anyone entered my store before the store closing time I would sit up the whole night and fix the problem ....coz the customer is the king ...but not for these guys .... Fast, prompt. Accurate quote was given. The guy at the desk was abrupt at first, then was much better and quite helpful. All in all a good experience. read more

My power socket on my laptop started to get loose and not charge and after looking around and having "The Geek Squad" tell me that they are unsure they could fix it/I have to pay for them to ship it to find that out. PRO on the other hand told me they could fix the problem for much less, and quicker, 2-3 days if they didn't have the part. To my amazement they called me in two hours to pick up the computer and it works great. Jake and Shawn were great to work with. read more

Best business for board level laptop repair and laptop parts in the Midwest! Highly recommend and will continue to use!

After many false starts on finding a place that could clean out and repair my Lenovo laptop onsite (e.g., several others said they would only to find out they were going to send it out and add to the time without my computer), I was so excited to find Crescent. I brought my lap top in to them in the morning and had it back by the afternoon. The machine is running much cooler and no longer doing the random shutdown. Yeah! I am planning to bring my other laptops to them for other repairs. read more

My iPod would not hold a charge for maybe more than 1/2 hour. I didn't really want a new iPod, so I decided to look into having the battery replaced.
